I saw a El Puma James while in Spain a few weeks ago, gorgeous it was. Well that and another recently finished james that went very well.
I'd thought the same thing regarding tweaking a Sherpa Martin, but not going to happen to any of my originals. Plenty of bikes being broken now (Sadly) So maybe some orphan parts will turn up to create an enigma!

The real point is they should not come loose if all working parameters are evaluated properly when the parts were toleranced. Al-alloy has about twice the coefficient of thermal expansion as steel/iron, so some correctly applied math should give ideal fits for a proposed working temperature range.
As for brakes on a trials bike, well I doubt they would be even significantly warm in the average section.

If you are not running lights just concern yourself with the ground and black wires. Insulate and secure the rest.
I'll have to check a stator to remind myself which colour is ground!

I fit the seal carriers without seals, heat cases, drop in bearings the carriers creating a stop.
Remove carriers and then build up as normal, heating inner races a little to make assembly easier.

Always been known to me as aging. Interesting was the BMW F1 engines in the 80's based on the 1500cc car engine, it was said they used blocks from cars that had already done high milages as the basis for each F1 engine. Said to be stronger and more stable than fresh blocks.
Metals can be artificially aged and stress relieved through heat treatments, but probably the slow natural process gives better results in some cases.

Possibly they were knocking em out so fast the raw castings were not aged properly? A local firm to me does disc brake rotors for the automotive industry, the castings sit outside in all weathers for years it seems.

Re the stuck throttle... Notice the slapped wrists? The temptation is there to try pop the plug cap off eh!! Results would of been interesting.
Times like that a kill switch is a useful addition!!

I've not been for the event yet! But I did drive through Robregordo just a couple weeks ago on route from Madrid to Snr Cruz's place.
Big John or one of the others are better placed to describe the event. The start seems to be a Motel style place (Full of trucks when I went though) Other side of the road to where the trial seems to take place.

Alloy will expand much faster than steel/iron.
With shrunk in liners it's about getting the fit correct. I must of relined over 100 Bultaco hubs throughout the 90's as far as I know none of the liners slipped or came loose and that was a thin insert (1.5mm Wall). The interference fit I used was severe though.

Judging from the video it seems like the sherpa may have had some flywheel reduction as it sounded a little "perky!"
The bike still causes some chat over its controversy it seems.
The "Puma?" Cota 350 (I think) at 2:30 seemed to be going well too.

Which model? from M10 to M80 used the same part. After that a headed type and then changed to 14mm but forget which model the change over was.

300cc for gearbox and 200c for primary is about right. Remember the Cota gearbox cavity is very compact compared to a Sherpa. Barely much larger than the clusters and selector assembly.
