  1. That one did make me laugh! Thanks for that!
  2. Haynes manual is Just OK! Most Bultaco people will have one, but the 5 speed engines are so basic it's rarely needed. Wayne....
  3. Not an awful lot. Clutch centre rotor changed design. Not sure about any ratio changes. The gearboxes are quite bullet proof. Do you have a specific problem? Wayne....
  4. A few degrees? Hmm time to take the barrel off and investigate, something is worn I would of thought. Wayne....

Your're welcome. Alan is right though, you should look into tuning the inlet length between carb and cylinder. I seem to recall from dabbling with Bantams some years ago that they worked better with a longer manifold. Wayne...

    I think from memory it's 1 5/8" x 24tpi Whit form. Wayne.....
  7. Interesting bikes. Revving it's head off might be caused by a severe air leak somewhere or jammed carb slide. Wayne....
  8. Actually it was not a "yes".
  9. I should not answer that! haha......
  10. Should have inner bushes then, Picture below is linked from Bultaco UK's website. Your machine should have the parts shown top left. 2 of each. I was more concerned that if you had the silentbloc conversion that the rubber might have done weird stuff in the powder coating cure ovens. Wayne....
  11. Up to model 151 had the earlier style swinging arm. After that the rear engine mount became part of the swinging arm assembly, hence the two tubes. What do your visible bushes look like? have a flange same diameter as the swinging arm tube? and made of Phos/bronze? Wayne.....
  12. Could of had the 'orrible silentbloc (Bonded rubber) conversion at one time. Usually complete with 1/2" spindle instead of the standard 12mm. Original was Bronze outer bushes, with steel inner bushes/sleeves, and a spacer between them. Wayne....
  13. Yes, exactly as you describe. Wayne....
  14. Donald Is it a through hole? If so and you can see the other end of the bolt, often drilling into the bolt (on centre!) from the other end will wind it out. Wayne....
  15. There is only one "gotcha" with these conversions. The Sherpa has a lot of angular offset between the headstock and forks so you should not deviate too far from the original yoke mounting distance to avoid alignment problems. The original bearing set had a total length of 12mm, some of the conversions use modified 32005 bearing which have a assembled length of 15mm. there is one set I have seen with correct diameters but still a lenth of 14.5mm. So for 2 bearings the yokes are 5 or 6 mm further apart. That difference is almost all the total thickness of the preload adjuster nut. Just trigged this out based on a 2 deg offset, and it may not be too siginificant actually, 6mm futher apart would equate to about just over 0.2mm or 8 thou misallignment. Only other issue is possibly the extra height may not be shrouded well by the original pressed bearing shrouds, and adjuster nut. Wayne.....
  16. Seen that vintage film before, always nice to watch. Probably shot on super8, shame there's no real soundtrack. Did Manuel Soler always use a horse riding hat? Wayne....

    New Ossa

Yes Indeed it's not even been discussed on TC since October 09. All I can make out from some 3rd party reports on the ossa is that Marc Colomer is development rider. "Toda la moto se ha pensado para obtener el mejor reparto de pesos posible y un rendimiento ideal de todos los elementos, siempre partiendo de una base te

    New Ossa

Good Grief you're getting all wound up over a economics paper report! It could be all cobblers, could have an element of truth in it too! Certainly getting more press than the Greeves! Also just checked the Ossa website. Another countdown clock running. 3 days to a worldwide presentation whatever that will mean. Wayne.....

    New Ossa

I wondered when the comparison with that "thing" would pop up! Seems all quiet on that front though. Ossa seem to have the merchadising set up, a dealer friend and I were talking about it when I visited Madrid in December and he indicated he's going to be selling their apparel. Seems thats the way it works these days. Wayne.....
  20. Certainly an unusual way to stamp a frame number. maybe this vertical stamping will give a clue to the origins? Wayne....

    New Ossa

I did say "May have" didn't I? Or did you miss that subtle disclaimer? One thing we "may" be certain of, is they will be taking speculative orders possibly without deposits. The article also seems to suggest production starts this month ("este mes"). Wayne...

Seems the may have presold the 1st 1200 off the line. Link
  23. I've never seen them new for Montesa's but they may exist. Philpotts do good work though, and unlike some of the companies advertising actually do the work inhouse. Wayne....
  24. I believe the Betor forks were meant to run vented on compression, possibly to create a partial vacuum. Only Betors I have seen unvented are in my mk9 Pursang. The fork cap with the diaphragm valve always seemed (to me) to give the most trouble. The ball and spring type are simpler and give no trouble. Wayne.....
