  1. Someone else with a Vacuum former eh ! Only problem with HIPS is it's not very UV Tolerant. Becomes quite brittle. Wayne...
  2. Hehe you enjoyed getting wet? I see your point, BUT as others have said it appears the Spanish really know how to put on good events time after time. Wayne....
  3. Was all done within their period though, albeit not by a majority. On the other hand don't ever recall anyone converting a Mono to twinshock back then though. Though there were no doubt a few TS bikes convered to crude Mono. Wayne....
  4. Riding a bit in Spain last December makes me want to go live there! Bleedin beautiful trials country. If only......... Wayne....
  5. Saw this one linked from Todotrial yesterday. A few interesting mods and still looks like a Sherpa. Link Then select "Reportaje Sherpa " Seems like he's possibly using Alpina Yokes for less to zero offset and no tiller steering. Interesting exhaust setup. Obviously ridden by a capable rider though. Wayne....
  6. John. As Ross said Impact wrench is the easiest. But I'd also recommend using a socket with the lead in chamfer removed as that nut is not very thick. Wayne....
  7. Neither, it was a trail bike. Yamaha DT engine.
  8. Condensor may be under the tank. Actually a good place to have it. Wayne...
  9. Pat are you outside the UK by any chance? That material seems almost unheard of here. Sounds almost like freecutting ally. So probably not suitable no matter what you do with it. Hard anodising at least at my platers achieves about 500 vickers hardness. Usually 50 micron thickness. Certainly good enough for a very famous brands motocross clutch baskets But really a good steel is the way to go. Wayne....
  10. Hard Anodised it might work, what are the properties of 6026 ? Most 6000 series Alloys are fairly low grade commercial. For strength normally 2014 or 7075 is used. Wayne....
  11. Alloy can be chrome plated, but it's frought with problems especially when castings are involved. Polshed and clear anodising can look good too, but again material spec is important for consistant results. For the spacers and just two off? just use 20mm solid and bore through. 200mm is no big deal done from each end. Where "down south" are you? I got meters and meters of 20mm dia en1a, you can have a couple cut pieces foc if you want to come get it or pay postage! Wayne....
  12. One of Johns 340's has a hack out of the swinging arm boss and bush to make room, at least one I have pictures of does. On the Carlos Iso design, the thought had crossed my mind over this last week. His designs when you take them in context with the associated text are more a fictitious study of what could of been. So would be interesting to make at least one exist in one way or another. Wayne....
  13. I was comparing the cylinder finning which looks nothing like the tlm (to my eyes anyway!) BUT very similar to the mk15. I did say the MK15 was styled on Japanese engines didn't I? But you are right, especially looking at the bottom end and much of the detail behind the motorafter. Now see the picture you posted, it could almost be what he worked from. Wayne...
  14. I think the engine in the Bultaco drawing was more than likely inspired by the MK15 Pursang Motor. The MK15 engines external features were at the time obviously inspired by Japanese designs. Wayne....
  15. Thanks for posting that. I'll have to foward it to one of my friends who worked on the design of the top end of that engine whilst contracted to BMW a couple years ago. He'll be interested. Wayne...
  16. From Memory I seem to think it's the Blue wire which needs to be grounded. Woody would probably know for sure. Wayne....
  17. Spooky! But anyway. Looking really good there! Might motivate me to crack on with mine! Wayne...
  18. Do keep us updated on your 330! I should get on with mine too. Wayne....
  19. You probably wont find them in a bearing stockist. But you could try. size required are 45x25x12 Closest you will find easily are 47x25x15 (32005x) Which can be modified to fit, but is the work of hard turning or grinding the o/d down worth it? The link quoted by Keith above is about the cheapest out there I believe. Wayne.....
  20. A quick google suggests 1966. But can't be certain on that. Wayne...
  21. Sorry I didn't make it, was going to to go but changed my mind late last night. Wasn't actually looking forward to a drive from Dorset to Telford and back in a day and I had work to do. Work won over. Keith did the Spanish contingent make it? Javier and carlos were going I'm sure. Wayne.....
  22. Smallest bearing in that manual are the cam bearings (6201 12x32x10) What a mystery! Wayne.....
  23. Charlie I also make most of my patterns and some vac forming molds from MDF. Almost as good as modelboard which is the stuff a lot of patternmakers use these days. If you are 3d profiling it with cnc and have the time it helps to do the finish cut, paint the thing in epoxy (let cure, OBVIOUSLY!) and recut. MDF seems to go all fluffy due to the lower density in the core and this technique seems to help get a good harder and higher definition surface. Modelboard is much nicer to use though. Wayne....
  24. Interesting bikes.. I also have a 370 Pursang a mk9 version, I call it the devils child! Wayne.....
