  1. Would there be any merit in having a roped off path or observation area next to the section where riders could either stand or ride into before attempting the section thereby allowing them to "see" the section without actually getting the chance to walk it

Every Tx200 I hqave come across has this annoying rattle. To be on the safe side pull off the barrel and check for wear but otherwise I would ignore it unless it gets worse
  3. I've been looking through the post your own bike pics in the beta section and a thought occured to me... In Cambridge where I live the students like to ride the roughest bikes they can and there is a lot of prestige in having the worst possible bike that is still rideable. So come on guys... Post your pics of the most beaten up bikes you have seen. To qualify the bike must be in a rideable state and being used in competition. Show us your c**p
  4. Thanks... Pic now found
  5. Good thinking boss
  6. Thats the one Atom... The tiny pic but i found a larger version of it somewhere
  7. I'm trying to collect photo's for the Fantic section of my website. Somewhere in the past I came across a picture of a scantily clad young lady leant across the tank of a Fantic but do you think I can find it anywhere now that I want it !!! Can anyone please point me in the right direction please. Thanks
  8. Since the frame and engine numbers match, i'd say it must be DIY
  9. Could you give some more details please like a start time and some directions. Thanks

For Christmas I bought myself a TY175 but its in need of a bit of TLC. After reading through the forum I have found that the frame should be Vauxhall Sebring Silver but I connot find what colour the white tank should be. Can anyone offer any help please? If anyone has a rear brake pedal in good condition i'd also be interested.
  11. No it won't
  12. There is no huge advantage which is why I guess they allow it. Advantage is that there is a wider choice of tyre manufacturer and that tyres are more easily available as tubeless. No real disadvantage as far as I am aware
  13. Hi Jack. It will be great to see you there. From the little I know about you I would say the trial will be ideal for your ability. The venue is fairly easy going and nothing much to hurt yourself on. Come and say hello. We're a really friendly bunch. I'll be there on my blue gasgas txt pro. black riding gear and a blue crash helmet. Come and say hello. When you get to Duford airfield... cross over the roundabout over the M11 the straight over the next mini roundabout. Straight across the next roundabout next to McDonalds. You will join the A11 for a short time but take the next exit isgn posted Linton. Take the 3rd exit on the roundabout towards linton. after about 200yards turn right towards services. Follow the road round past the services and look out for parking on the left hand side of the road.

Cheers Marky boy... Being an ex car mechanic i've heard variations on that one once or twice The reason I asked is because I keep tearing the valve out of my tubes yet i'm doing up the clamps as tight as I dare or maybe i'm just getting too old
  15. How tight should I do up the nut on my rim locks? Rear wheel
  16. Yes this is a common problem but to be fair the TX is getting on a bit now. Don't waste your time just replace the two kickstart ratchet gears. Phone gasgas UK and they will know which 2 gears you mean. Its an easy job to do and is easily done in an afternoon
  17. That will almost certainly be the reason why the nut came loose. The springyness introduced through the drive train prevents the nut from being done up correctly. You MUST hold the flywheel whilst doing up this nut or it WILL come loose.

The thermostat on a trials bike is a very simple device. Unlike a car where the thermostat controls the circulation of water, the one on your bike simply controls the supply of electricity to the cooling fan. To test it make up a simple testing device from a couple of wires and a battery and bulb to make a circuit. Disconnect the wires to the thermostat and attach the wires to your testing device. Now run the engine to get it up to working temperature and watch to see if your bulb lights. If it does then th thermostat is fine if not its knackered ! Alternatively just buy a new one and keep the old one for a spare if it doesn't cure your problem

Frame is different Forks are same as 125 model but different to the 200 Same with wheels I think the tank will fit though By the way... I reserve the right to be wrong
  20. Loads of trials and clubs.. I could recomend Cambridge Matchless. Their website is excellent but then I would say that wouldn't I http://www.cambridgematchless.co.uk If you try the links heading there are several other popular clubs in the area too.

I have terrible visions now of you riding along licking your fuel tank !!!! Get out of my head evil thoughts !!!!

Yes the bearing can be pushed out. The method I use is to find 2 sockets and use them in a vice to form a kind of press. One socket pushes the bearing through the shock and into the other. The new bearings are quite expensive and I would recomend ordering a replacement BEFORE you remove the old one. GasgasUK are very good
  23. If you manage to find out any details could you please post them here or PM me with them too. Thanks

    Sounds like fuel starvation
  25. Highly unlikely I would say. The only part that I can see in the photo that has been grounded to earth is the spark plug. Most if not all of the other components will also use earth return to complete a circuit.
