Evo 2009 - 2013 Changes And Updates
The Two Major updates were the Frame in 2011. The Engine is mounted higher up in the chassis. And the Bigger tank size for the 2013 bike. Minor mods included the Rear Swing arm had a few problems on the Original EVO as they had a hole for the Stand which allowed cracking. That was fixed for 2010. Rear Wheel went Flange in 2011 (DID style). Radiator with filler in front from 2010. Air box drain hole 2011.

Which 80...?
Looks like the NEW 2013 Beta EVO 80 Will be around next month in big wheel form. May be a few older ones p-exed in then.
-
New Clutch Plates
Not Sure which ones but even after a couple of weeks the clutch is still slipping. Seems to be a thing with this type of clutch replacements are not that fantastic.

Gas Gas Suspension
Given where you are I'd try BVM-Moto in Stroud. I'm not sure what rear shock you have but Ohlins do rated springs that can fit Sachs shocks as well.
-
Which 80...?
I'd try Trialsuk in Leeds and Acklams of Harrogate. TUK have one on their website which looks a good one. Acklams have sold some new ones recently so may have a handle on second hand ones.

Trials Training/tuition
Graham Jarvis is the name coming to mind. Not sure if he still does it though. He does have a web site though and you could contact him and see.

Which 80...?
The New Sherco looks good but they'll need to put a few out to let the market see if it likes it. I'd say if the engine is good then the bigger riders could find it a useful bike. Otherwise the Beta main strength is the engine which gives it more than an edge over the Gas Gas.

British Championship Controversy
In Essence where were the Spectators? And the riders views are easy to pick up. Just the posts on TC and Facebook as well as asking a few "Experts" in the Centre some of which the change in rules were supposedly aimed at . As for not letting the riders know the score are you serious? Even events like the IOM TT have boards out to let riders know what the time differences are throughout the lap. I expect they do train as hard and ride as hard as they can as well. I expect the meeting at Rugby to be well attended this time round or that Riders will have sent their views in or have somebody there to put their views forward.

We have had an Ohlins since 2005/2006. It's was built by the same guy that did Wiggy's at the time. The spring is changeable for the weight of the rider. They are coloured differently and can be obtained from TrialsUK. We had ours rebuilt last year by the same guy who altered the internals slightly. Some bits had worn out and he updated it. The main thing my Son notices if he rides a Sachs bike is a certain lack of linearity compared to the Ohlins. It reacts that little bit less eagerly. Hence he can have it setup so the Ohlins is quite lively but it retains the ability to absorb rocks. As the guy said you can have all the power in the world but if the wheel isn't on a surface it will just spin. As for the Reiger He has ridden a bike with one on but many in Yorkshire still move the Ohlins across at the moment. His opinion was neutral. It was better than the Sachs but he would need to set it up for him to gave a better opinion.

British Championship Controversy
Riders Numbers are up in the Championship class but overall were down. Spectators voted with their feet and crowds at local BTC's were down. In one case two riders and a spectator who where there estimated that there were under 250 people following the event. Most of whom were friends and relatives. The riders were not impressed with the new rules either. As for going off and doing the Spanish Rounds. DIbs and Brown have been said they'd like to do just that. The Importers they are tied to have different agendas though. So the riders don't like it and the Spectators don't like it. I suspect that the riders are bending the importers ears as we speak. As for having a quieter life with marking sheets I always let a rider know when they have had a five especially if it was for a technical infringement. At this level the riders need to know their marks. It could make or break the event, season or even the working life of riders.

New Clutch Plates
Had them fitted. If they are not right after practice today I'll take the bike back in.

New Clutch Plates
MY Son's 2011 pro 300 has just had a set of new plates fitted. They aren't as snappy as the old ones when the bike was new and seem to slip a bit before they bite which given his style is a bit disconcerting. Anybody had them fitted and how long before they "bed in".

Urgent Advice Needed
I live in the area and have used many dealers in the area over the last 10 or 11 years. I've never heard of this guy until somebody at BUMPY was asking about him and the reply wasn't encouraging. This forum is a great resource and you can always ask if anybody in the area has good or bad experiences.

How Do I Stop The Tyre Popping Off The Bead?
Are you sure it's a tubeless in that case. It does sound suspicously like it is. Like I say Nobody I know uses them except on Trail bikes where the Pressures are higher. Only other thing I can suggest is to use a Sealent on the bead. I did use Rubber glue for a while when we had problems with IRC's

But not much good if you haven't any grip surely?

Review Of 2013 Bikes
Yep BSA produced 100 Trials Bantams and all 2000 are running pretty well at the moment. (Enter own figures for effect).

How Do I Stop The Tyre Popping Off The Bead?
I've never seen anybody use a Pirelli before. Maybe that's why?

Dibs
Looking at the story where Dibs has been picked up for another 2 years it looks like he didn't "Flip the Bird" then? Somebody obviously playing mischief.

Irc Tyres....
Michelin X-Lite Very good all round but expensive. Stays on rim but not good on the Long Trials where the lighter construction seems to cause problems. Can have it as low as 3psi with no problems Michelin X11 Again very Good all round as per X-lite but seems more rugged and lasts longer . Probably down to slightly heavier construction. IRC Very Good in Mud OK on rocks. Does not like being below 4psi and newer ones seem to lose air on big impacts. Dunlop 801 Seems to be a great distance tyre. Very resistant to coming off the rim and punctures. Mainly Used by many on the SSDT and Scott. Seems to have been changed about 2 years ago and the latest one isn't as long lasting. Pirelli Used once and nobody keeps them on. Definitely not a Trials Tyre.

Should I Buy An Ossa ?
General opinion in West York's tips to "Would buy another" The majority are very reliable bikes. I have seen issues with the Gearbox but like the Gas Gas Pro's they don't like the lever being bashed. There have been one or two instances of the Box "locking" on a gear but again I have heard of other bikes doing that. Main thing most have found a bind is the Air filter. The 2013 one is supposedly a lot better. Only thing is that most are "clubman" bikes. Nobody who does the "hard" sections has really got hold of one yet and wrung it's neck.

Clipic 80
They do have a website and it has a picture of the current Clipic CJ80R for which parts are available. see www.clipic.com

Clipic 80
There was a recent thread in the General Trials Forum. Probably worth having a look. If it's the same bike I think the guy decided not to continue as the parts were difficult to source. Andy at Pennine Trialsport is probably your best bet on it.

Late Entries
Cannot agree with racey. The main problem I have found is that it can be difficult to find some Entry forms. You CAN send one "on spec" but many events have differing entry fees even within the same championship and getting them back can be problematic. In one case I entered my son for a Youth round at Scarborough. The entry when they got it was completely shredded along with the cheque. The club was extremely diligent and "held" and entry for us while I got a "New" cheque to them. However in some cases even finding out you have an entry is difficult and in some cases I have been setting things to go to find we hadn't got one. That's annoying and expensive. Then there are circumstances such as one we found ourselves in where clubs sending out Postal invitations to Trials were getting them though to us but somewhere along the line the Email address had been sent out wrong. We got invited to half the Trials and had to enquire where the rest were. It wasn't until one of them replied that I realised what had happened and we nearly missed a few due to that.

Late Entries
At the Moment "Closing dates" are of little value. We don't have enough riders out there! I'd support a limit ON RIDERS but with the previso that until that limit is reached entries will be accepted even if it is with a "penalty" with regard to the entry fee.
