Newbie
You missed a trial yesterday. There is a trial on on Sunday coming, see the events section for Stanley TC trial on the main page for details. If you decide to come along for a look make sure that you wear sturdy walking boots, bike boots or wellies. There is a stream to cross and plenty of mud.

Buying Bikes 2Nd Hand & Paperwork ?
I personally won't sell a bike from home because of the fear of inviting in the thieving gits who prey on genuine sellers. It works both ways you know!

Starts Then Revs Build Until It's Screaming!
Most definitely, all it needs is not to be seated correctly at either end, make sure the outer cable sleeve are touching the stop at throttle and carbon. You may have inadvertently pulled the outer cable away from the stop when you have 're-routed the cable, it's an easy mistake to make.

Check for the cable being pulled out of it`s seating at both ends, could be that simple.

Couple Of Questions
Hi, it's not advisable to use washing up liquid on your bike, or car for that matter, as it contains salt which will quickly corrode all your fasteners and what not. Either get some proper bike cleaner or car wash-n-wax or just use water. I personally don't use a jet wash, I just use a soft wash brush and a watering can, the bike is a 2011 and still looks new. Good luck.

Newbie Advice?
Hi, my first bike was also a Sherco 290, what an animal, I couldn't control it. After more than two years trying to tame the beast, I gave in and bought a Gasgas 250, best thing I ever did. I love it. Completely different feel. Try to get a ride on as many different bikes as possible and be your own judge. You could also pop along to a local trial and get a feel for how other new starters are getting along with their machines. Good luck

New Bike
I went the other way and traded my 290 sherco for a 250 gasser. In my opinion the gasser God's are better as my game has vastly improved. (or I'm just improving naturally, who can tell).

New Bike
Oh no, you'll have to change your name now, and the gas gas God's won't be happy.

Hello From A Newbie In Sunderland
Best advice from a fellow makem, get your self to the Consett trial tomorrow and get stuck in. If you don't have an acu licence yet, you could observe or just spectate. Either way it's a free lesson. Good luck bud.
