I've always loved the thought of an electric trials bike but said that I'd wait until it had a proper clutch. Now, with being on lockdown, I've had a little ride in the garden (on my petrol bike) and it's underlined how awesome it would be to have an electric bike. But, I've got a couple of questions/musings that I wonder if people have experience enough to answer: 1. Gears.. they exist for a reason - before the coronavirus hit, I was doing a fair bit of practice in mud. I learned quite quickly how important it is to use the gears to maintain grip. Hi All, Total newbie here but i've just bought the Epure race (2 actually, one for the boy). Theres a sound that sounds like a grinding bearing when you add power could this be the drive bearing? I only came to this conclusion after seeing what parts were available and if so is it an easy swap as i cant find any real info out there on the motor and would much rather do it myself. Hope this makes sense!

Is anyone using S3 Bar Ends on a EPure? I'm trying to figure out which model bar ends to get. #5 or TOO? I guess the question is does the EPure have a closed or open throttle tube?

Last weekend threw up a problem on my 2023 ePure Race. After about 2 hours of practice riding I returned to my car and parked up. A few minutes later I was going to take the lazy way out and ride the bike round in a circle to load up. However I couldn't, because every time I attached the lanyard I got the beeps that say "You've got some throttle on so I'm not going to let you select a map." I fiddled with the lanyard and the throttle, switched off and on, but nothing solved it so I pushed the bike. At least I was lucky it didn't do it at the far end of the site which would have left me with a 1 mile uphill push 😱.So today I have dug into things further. I tried switching …

Gents, very interested in going electric and just wondered what’s the position regarding riding an EM Escape (or a Oset 24) on the road in the UK? Is it possible to register these?

Has anybody looked into what is involved to update a 21 bike to the 22 TKO spec? Is this possible? Cheers

The map indicator light has stopped working on my '21 ePure Race. It became erratic a little while ago but then recovered. Now it's completely dead. I've cleaned the connector contacts and smeared with dielectric grease, but no joy. Has anyone else had the problem? How did you fix it?

I've been really enjoying my Escape over the last few months doing both slow and faster riding. I have started having a problem or two and wanted to see if other riders had encountered them (I've put the question to my dealer as well) They can happen and last for a few seconds a minute then it starts working normally. 1.The display shows F1, F2, or F3 instead of battery level. typically only appear while I am on throttle or regen braking. 2. The display fully turns off I'll keep riding along and eventually the display returns. Anyone else seen this?

So my 22 comp has a clunking sound that is damn hard to track down. I initially thought it was the bolts from the frame dogbone contacting the dogbone off the shock as clearance is minimal and I did see what appeared to be scratches where you would expect them if it was impacting. well facing both bolts didn't resolve the sound. It's almost like a flex sound but nothing is loose, none of plastic is flexing. it mostly happens on the top of the stroke but not always and sometimes it goes away altogether (but comes back after a couple bounces on the pegs... I disconnected the top of the shock, laid below and had a friend go through the stroke. There was no sound or anything …

Em pure 2022 What is the button for?

Looking at my first trials bike and I’m going electric so I can ride on my own property. My local dealer has a new ‘16 sport for $1500 off MSRP. I’m torn if I should scoop that up or get an ‘18. Are the motor improvements that significant or any other refinements that would make a new ‘18 a better option?

HI~ I have Em pure-R 2022 I found out later that this button is the engine brake button. I want to know if it charges when I press this button. It's my first time riding an EM bike in Korea.There is no information because it is the first bike in Korea.Please let me know if you have any know-how to ride a bike.I want to know how to use clutch, how to use TKO, or how to use engine brakeI beg you.

Lots of metal flake in the oil and magnetic drain plug got a ball of the stuff on it, never seen anything that intense. Anyone done first oil change yet and had it look better?

My rear shock from my 2022 EPR is blown. I do not want to spend big bucks, so I am thinking rebuild Vs a used R16V? If so, is there a single size for the R16V?

I have a 2016 EM with the 3 position power switch as well as the handlebar map. So far I have been really impressed with the bike but the other day it lost a lot of power in the lower two power settings although it seemed OK in the highest setting. This did follow my granddaughter crashing it fairly heavily and burying the throttle. Finished the day out on the high setting. When I looked at it the wheel was rolling on the stand with the throttle closed on the highest setting but not the lower two. Anyone ridden one? Pretty pricey where I am but I'm still incredibly intrigued by the lack of noise and basically no maintenance. My son has an Oset 16 that can move me around with ease so I'm not too concerned about power. Anyway, really just curious about them now that they've been around for 4 or so years.

I'm wondering what happened to the momentum behind Competition capable e-bikes? I have a video from 10 years ago that showed a prototype from Montesa, We know Gas Gas showed Raga on what seemed to be a solid looking prototype, where is that? the Em.7 is out there and looks like the best option available, but not much else has developed in the past few years. Beta? Sherco? Nothing that I'm aware of. There was this huge push, practically a mandate few years back by the FIM to make 4T bikes, those still are out there but with the mandate gone it seems 2T bikes are (thankfully) just as if not more popular than ever, good, but the innovation with e-bikes for Trials…

Are there any technical specs on how the EM motor is controlled? Is the throttle just and adjustable resistor? Does that just go to some kind of standard industrial motor controller with programmable parameters? Or is there some type of computer in there as well like similar to a fly by wire gas powered street bike?

The propstand on the ePure holds the bike too upright so I have found I have to search out a low spot in the ground to place the stand on when parking up. It's a bit of a pain in the posterior so I went looking for a solution. Now I've put a washer under the inboard fixing to the swinging arm. It seems to be better in the garage, so I'm hopeful for the trial tomorrow. If it turns out to be better but not enough, I'll try two washers but that will need a slightly longer screw as there isn't a lot of thread engagement. Tyre clearance is also extremely tight. I don't know what can be done about the spring/tyre clearance but I've cut off the redundant spring lug and that…

Does anyone have a portable generator they use for charging the battery on a electric trials bike Electric Motion or similar. Thinking of buying one to extend time on bike and looking at options. What make & model do you use and are you happy with it. Alternatively have you bought a spare battery.
