Hi i was wondering if anyone out there has fitted the WES full exhaust system to a yamaha framed ty250 majesty! the middle alloy silencer has a smaller diameter than the front downpipe so it wont just slip on? do i need a sammy miller front downpipe? if so does this need shorterning? i dont wont to use a rubber sleeve to make the join as this looks a right mess! also the oversized footrests and hangers that major suppliers are selling latley (the type where you have to grind of the original peg mounts to fit) i can see that you bolt the top part to the swingarm pivot but the bottom mount theres no thread to bolt to! just a long tube part of the chassis the only way i c…

A little while ago I used to look at a site called Mjesty Moto - or something close to that. They were based quite close to me near Wotton Basset in Wiltshire I think. What happened to them ? Their website is just a blank page,or is it my steam drive computer ? Now I have a pair of ty 250 twin shocks the stuff they were advertising would be really handy.Any ideas ?

Came to fit a new rear tyre to the pinky today. When i finally got the knackered tyre off found that the rim was very badly corroded. Outwardly it looks perfect but around the rim locks the alloy has corroded and just flaked off. Got it back to bare metal but the rim is probably only half the thickness that it should be in that area. Bugger and twice bugger So two options 1. get a good second hand wheel. Doubtful as i have a spare wheel and that is just as bad plus the last mono i had also had the same problem although not as bad as this one. 2. get the hub rebuilt onto a new rim. I think as i intend to keep the bike long term having the wheel rebuilt is the best wa…

I know this topic was debated at some length recently and there seemed to be two camps. the yeah why nots and the not in the spirit guys. Well i have decided to break the TY250S i bought recently as now i have the Pinky i will keep some bits for spares and sell the rest. If anybody wants a frame to convert, thereby saving their mono frame so they could always convert back if they wanted to, then i have one for sale. TY250S c/w swingarm pivot etc powder coated red. Will also be putting the rest on e bay in a couple of weeks. Just thought i would offer the stuff here first. If nobody wants any of it no problem just thougt i'd mention it.

Hello all - my first post here, please be gentle ! I have recently bought a very smart looking ty250,with a few mechanical issues.I have had the motor to bits and put in a new rod and bearings/mains and seals etc.But I'm not very happy with the top end,it was bored .5mm o/s and fitted with an aftermarket piston from Hirsts. The top end is very noisy - esp at idle, not too bad with a few revs on.I know its never going to be devoid of two stroke rattles, but this is too much ! I have almost 2 spare engines so there are a few options,my question is does anyone know where I can get origin…

Well i've gone and done it i've bought a TY250S mono. I know it's not the one to go for but 1. I couldnt afford a Pinky. 2. It was cheap. 3. Im a crap rider anyway so dont think the extra for a Pinky would make much difference. 4. If i find i enjoy it i can always sell it and buy a Pinky anyway. So got loads of questions like: where is the best place to buy parts? What is the best silencer my old bike in the early 80's had a sort of roughly diamond shaped one that i got from Mick Andrews and ran really well with it. Can you still get them? I heard there was a mod to the front brake to make it better using a different brake plate. What was it from? My forks dont seem…

After stripping my TY250 S/R mono i have decided that it will need too much spending on it to get it up to scratch so i have gone the whole hog and bought a Pinky. I was just wondering what parts were worth keeping as they might be useful as spares for the Pinky? Thought i would then probably put the rest on E bay to try to get some of my money back. Any ideas on what bits are transferable and whats not? Thanks

Here is my Pinky which I completed and rode today, Thanks to all that helped me along the way. I have resized afew pics to make them small enough but it says I can't add them so if anyone knows please shout out as I have two more of the bike as it is now and one when I got it a few months ago. I have re-built it to ride, not to polish and have already scraped some stickers off, it is my first project so be gentle! I have stripped it down, had the frame shotblasted and powder coated back to white (from Green!) and replaced afew bits and bats along the way to put it back to original colours etc. It rides well, a couple of minor adjustments to front & back brake will …

Here is a picture of my Yamaha Pinky which I recently bought, it's in pretty good nick I suppose just cleaned it down and slapped some stickers on it. It's a jumpy buggar though, as soon as you turn the throttle the power is instantly there, almost enough to catch you if you're off guard, anyone know how I could make it a little bit safer?

I've searched through the forum and found several references about lightening the flywheel weight in the TY mono, but no details on the original weight. I was going to lighten the flywheel by the suggested 8 to 10oz but am reluctant to go too wild and make it too light. There seems to be evidence that the flywheel has had some weight removed, but that could just as easily be the original machining. Therefore, I'd like an idea of the original flywheel weight of the Pinky mono before I begin to remove any meat. Can someone tell me the original weight of the Pinky flywheel? Many thanks David

Hi, i bought this bike last week for some extra parts. first i thought somebody did put some big wheels on a ty80 but when i looked closer i found out that also the frame and swingarm have some strange sizes. the frame has a 451 number so that must be a ty80 ( or am i wrong here?) but it's bigger than a normal ty80 and there is a space between the engine and the frame ( see pictures). the swingarm also looks original but it's to long!?? does anybody know if this is a standard factory frame/bike? or is the frame hand made/wasted? thanks D.

Just a quick one, Are Yamaha TY250 mono barrels all the same, will early ones fit a Pinky? I have been told that one of the mono's was not a brilliant bike so I don't want to use the wrong barrel if one is different. Thanks.
