Just about to send off my cylinder to Millenium Technologies for re-work. Trying to source a new upper end con rod bearing for the 74 TY 250 A. I have sources for everything else. The part number listed in the factory documentation says it is 93310-21854 But the one I found at Yamaha Partshouse (Babbits) was listed as 93310-218A6-00 . Don't know if this is the same part or if someone has a cross reference list somewhere? Or if there is a NOS part still in the wrapper that someone is willing to part with? Just trying to avoid a SNAFU at the time when everything goes back together. The old bearing was missing a roller when I took it out of the engine.

Got a 1991 TY250r pinky and i am having trouble selecting gears, 1st to 2nd is the worst, 2nd to 3rd isn't quite as bad then it gets better as you go up the gears 5th to 6th is brilliant. I rang Birkitt and he says it will be behind the clutch. I have had that to bits and all looks perfect. Anyone got any ideas what it could be?

Top quality tank stickers for the Pinky Yams are finally ready at a company called MXM!! There have been various delays along the way. Unfortunately the original bloke I was dealing with, Frank Thornton, retired, setting the whole process back another few months! I only stuck with them because I know that they are top quality and actually stay on the tanks for years - I've used several over the years for old motocross bikes. The only differences from stock are that the silver is actually a pale silver/grey and they have perforated mine with small holes so they don't bubble (this is optional). They are also significantly thicker. I supplied a pattern of the sides …

Just bought a 320 barrel for my twinshock. I have read that the early ones did not rev and were modified to improve the situation. How can I tell which is which and what are the modifications required to tune an early one?

Could anyone help me out with swing arm shim dimensions please? Mine are missing, little wonder there was so much play. The bushes seem fine and well greased luckily. I was hoping the local engineering shop might have shims to suit.

Is there a good way to clean/flush the mid section on my TY250A ? It seems pretty mucked up and I thought about trying to flush it with diesel fuel.I don,t know if there is any packing material in there that might get ruined by anything I might use to flush it with.If so,then is like a Sherpa exhaust where you have to cut it open to properly do the job?

I got hold of a single seat TY50 for my son to learn basic clutch control on and then renovate after he moves on to a real trials. The forks are weak and need new seals and oil but also the springs are ready for the bin. Anyone know where I might get some springs, ive looked all over but cant find any. Thanks.

Have been having issues with fork seals not sealing for very long, inspected the chrome & there are no nicks or rust etc on them The leg that has the biggest problem definitely has noticeable movement when extended so it looks like the top of the slider is worn I'm thinking that I'll need top have them bored & bushes fitted but so far I haven't found a 34mm fork that uses bushes that I can use & the coated bushes that can be bought from bearing suppliers are either 32mm or 35mm inside diameter Any suggestions of a fork that I've overlooked or somewhere that may be able to help
