Hi Guys Could anyone out there put some detailed pictures of a mono s model back end on here. what it is, my bike has no mounting for a chainguard, they have been ground off. I have sourced a chainguard (DK motorcycles are breaking one) but i just need some details as to where to weld on some mounts. Any help would be much appreciated

Hi Been stripping the paint of a recently aquired TY250 (59N) and found the number 75 stamped in the top frame tube about an inch back from the headstock. Really small numbers and obviously from the factory as they were not visible until I removed the paint. Anyone got any idea what they signify. Cheers Tim

Group, Has anyone tried removing 2 or 3 clutch springs to lighten the clutch pull on a TY250? I guess the follow-up to that would be: Does the clutch slip if you do this? Thanks Alan

Hi all, I know that the front wheel of my 74 TY250 was not on correctly when I bought the bike. I have looked at the pictures in the book but can't see what spacers/bearing/washers go where. Mine has a split spacer on the right side between the pinch part and the fork tube- the split spacer/tube is longer than the fork tube bottom..... is this correct? Is there a spacer between the edge of the fork tube bottom and the wheel hub(around the axle)? On the left: If there anything between the brake hub and the edge of the fork tube(around the axle)? If someone could send me a close-up picture of the assembled axle shaft that would be great. Alan ab400@hotmail.com

Hi everyone new to the trials scene, I have bought a bike (TY250), but found a few problems. Mainly a very badly corroded wheel and spokes were so bad i had to grind the in half. Does any one know if they are still available. The rear rim is also badly corroded. Does anyone know if any other rim can be adapted to fit? Also need to find another shock absorber - can one be adapted from another model to fit? Any info on obtaining spares would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone, I am building a 74 TY250a and wondering if anyone has found a crossover footpeg from another bike that works on a TY(The stock pegs are teeny tiny things !) I have seen some at some vintage trials sites , but very expensive.. I have considered some weld on extesions... this could work and the price is right, But i did a search on e-bay and saw tons of pegs for all sorts of dirt bikes for like twenty bucks (some look like they would work , not sure though ?) Let me know if you know or have heard of anything ! I am ready for this project to be done , and the end is in sight!! thanks Chad

I've recently resurrected my old TY250r. After cleaning out carb thoroughly and replacing float valve I took it out for it's first ride today. The engine appears to be racing quite a bit. I've adjusted the throttle idle screw so that it is ticking over nicely, but when you pull the throttle it takes about 10 seconds to get back to idle speed and sometimes doesn't get back to it at all. To get it back to idle I have had to let the clutch out a bit with the brake on. I'm guessing this could be something to do with air screw adjustment but don't really know. Any ideas? Also, the clutch appears as though it might be sticking a bit. When letting it out the bike moves slowly…

I am going to do a precationary top end rebuild on my new TY80 as there is a very sligth top end rattle. Presumably it will be pretty much the same as the one I done to my FS1E about 32 years ago! Are there any things I need to look out for? If it has been rebored will it normally be stamped on the barrel to say what size? I will be doing piston, rings, little end, gudgeon pin and circlips. Anything I have missed? How long does it need to be run in for?

So it came out like you all said, WD-40, a mallet and a little patience. I have to be honest, the barrel and piston look to be in GREAT shape. . . i think. Ive added a couple pics of the piston and i'll do the same when I clean out the barrel. How's it look to you guys?? So whats next? I wasnt able to get the crank shaft moving?? Could the bottom end be siezed also? How can I check? If I can get the crank to move up and down, im going to be REAL excited! So any advice on where to go next? How can I get the crank to move? Turn the wheel? Kick start wouldn't move it. . . Piston pics, any thoughts? Im going to shop for new rings, piston and all that Jazz pretty …

It's my first post, so please be gentle Last time we were out on the TY250s, one fell over and wouldn't start so I stripped the carb. Not a good idea in the mud Anyway, the pin that holds the float on, fell out. I found that, but didn't notice that the float valve/needle also fell out (1986 Monoshock jobbies) I'm not sure if they are specific or one fits all. Do any other bikes have same carbs ? Just hoping that somebody will know what it needs or has one that might fit. It's worth a few pints if one of you can help me out Cheers

Hello. This is MY FIRST topic on this Forum! Ive already read a whack of them, so far your site is pretty great! So, this is my first trials bike. Im not sure WHAT it is. So far, from what ive read, its a 1976 Yamaha TY 175C. Can anyone confirm that? The # at the front is 525-150***. Im planning on restoring it to NEW condition! Ive owned a few dirt bikes, but ive so much fun with trials in the past that I figured I should hurry up and get one. Also, can anyone tell me where I might find a Manual download for it? I really want to do the repairs on my own so a manual would help.

So!! Ive started the work on my newest trials bike! Im really excited. I have only a small amount of background on this bike. The previous owner told me that he used it regularly up untill a couple years ago. He told me that when he tried to start it after it was sitting for more than a year, he found it had siezed. Its VERY damp up here in B.C. Canada so I assumed rust. I removed the cylinder head, and sure enough, it was rusted all over the walls. I looked through the exhaust port and the piston is also rusted. Now, I cant seem to free them from one another. Does anyone have any tips on breaking the seal?? Ive loaded it with WD-40 and still no luck. I'll leave the WD-…
