Can anybody recommend some links or DVDs or whatever where I can see some good twinshock trials? Riding this 247 is a totally different animal...I can hardly even figure out how to ride it after getting off a Sherco. I need some inspiration!

The Mont 348 I have recently purchased has Air forks on the front and I assume an after market set of Betor Gas shocks on the rear. As the bike is in very good condition, I have no reason to go playing around with these from a maintenance view point but it would be useful to know the following: 1) What is the basic construction of these - I assume it is still oil filed with additional dampening being delivered by air pressure 2) How do people use the air element to set their shocks and forks up Rob

Hi Just a thought has anyone on the forum ever done a front disc conversion on a 348/349/350 - I have seen a picture of one on a local SA auction site - Looks like they used a Japanese front end. It would upset the authenticty of the bike, but would certainly make long descents less hair raising than with std Montesa brakes. Ian

Having seen what ethanol can do to 70's spanish fiberglass fuel tanks, I am curious if the later plastic (Bultaco, SWM, Fantic) tanks can carry 10% ethanol fuel without damage. How about the liner in an alloy tank (1976 and up TY250... C & D models). What other parts need updating for this type fuel (can't afford $10/gal for race gas... have to drive 120 miles to get it anyway). Anyone know for sure? Thanks

Hi, I hope someone can help! I have a 1980 Cota 200, the kickstart works fine but when you manually turn the flywheel the kick mechanism can be heard to ratchet on the pawl. I have removed the cover and cant see anything missing or amis! Has any one else got one and is this normal? The bike starts and runs great. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Some time ago a topic (in this forum I think) ended up discussing the last of the real Spanish bikes (before Gas Gas & Sherco) and somebody posted some pics of the last, watercooled, monoshock, Cappra. Can anybody find it 'cause I've tried or alternatively would the person who posted said pics please repost. Thanks TFT

After researching to the limits of "google", it appears that a "Keihin PWK 28 29S" carb is a direct fit for the 348. This flat-sided carb appeals to me as the swap should be *simple* The Keihin's intake and airbox diameters match that of the Amal MKII's measurements of 35mm diameter at the intake and 49mm diameter at the airbox. This means that the manifold and airbox rubbers will fit the carb. Anyone know if the [ oem as factory new ] jetting that the Keihin comes with will work for the 348? If not, which jets would need to be changed out and to what? Thanks.
