Hi, After running my newly built Cub for around 8 hours, it has developed a pin hole in the new Vinylester petrol tank. I drain the fuel after every use but I noticed petrol dripping from a small (2mm diam) blister on the inside section near the bottom(where it hangs over the Oil in the frame top oil tank tube). I'm assuming it has a pin hole that has leaked into the gel coat causing the blister. To be honest, I have a feeling the blister was always there and I may have popped it whilst cleaning the tank! My thought is to buy some 2 part 'chemical metal' putty, gouge out the blister and make a small counter sunk hole, then slap the filler in the hole. I'm assuming po…

Hi, I've inherited my late Dad's '60 C15T and, despite not riding Trials (but a motorcyclist for over 50 years), I intend to restore it. I'm not clear yet quite how to go about it, what my priorities are or should be, and... I am NOT a mechanic! But I know my limitations and I don't intend to sod the 'bike up through ignorance. I'm going to convert it to 12v and fit Boyer Bransden electronic ignition (it was a bugger for my poor old Dad to start!) as I'm OK on electrics - I fitted a Boyer Bransden to a Sammy Miller Trials Cub I once owned. Then I need someone good to completely rebuild the engine (with the desirable mods) - someone good and not someone who just th…

Is there an old foundry knocking out Rickman hubs, because I received some pics today of some front hubs up for sale at a not-very-pre65 price, and they don`t look pre05 to be honest?

Hi all,now I may be mad but I have a chance to buy what I want of a partly stripped 55-56 350 matchless road bike.I've always liked Ajay/Matchie singles,(rode a 1940 ex WD G3 on girders for several years.)and I'd like to build a rigid trials bike for a few gentle summer rides. My question is what year/years of rigid frame are best to start with ? Also are the mid 50's forks the ones to use?

I'm in a fortunate position where I have a rigid pre unit frame and a 350 goldstar engine and gearbox. This is at the planning stage and would appreciate any suggestions. Also is it worth it? I could sell the lot and get a b40 special. I'm in the midlands and will attend a bmca trial to see what's occurring.

Assuming there is an alignment of the planets sometime in the near future and my new James frame materializes then i will need to get some wheels built so i'm gathering bits as i go along ready for if it arrives. So guys i've been offered alloy rims in both WM2 and WM3 but i dont know which to choose In the past i've never given it a thought and just used what was fitted, mostly WM2 i think, as std. I assume that WM2 being slightly narrower would give a rounder tread profile to the tyre and WM3 being slightly wider would give a more square or flatter tread profile. Would the WM3 however close the treads up and the WM2 open them slightly ? Which would give better gr…

Hello, I have a Wasp RT3 with a unit 500 Triumph engine in and would like to put a day light MOT on it. Has anyone used the mountain bike type speedo and horn with any success, if yes, what make are they. I have looked at a few on line but they seem to cheap to be any good !! but I would prefer a wire less one . I will have to fit a small battery for the stop light, so plan to used a led bulb to cut down on power drain (the electronic ignition has no charging provision), I could also connect the horn to it, so it only leaves the speedo to sort out. Regards, NB

I removed the small end bush from my C15 and the surface finish inside the rod is really rough. It looks like a very bad drilling job. As far as I can tell, it is pretty much round with an ID of .751/ .752. Is this rough surface normal or common? I'm thinking it needs to bored for an oversize bush but don't want to bother if this is actually normal.
