I know I'll get 101 different answers & opinions ......BUT Which is the best to ride for a Clubman? I've ridden and owned a 4rt for the last 10 years on & off I an missing out by not riding a modern 2T? i've had a go on a mates '16 Beta 2T & really liked it Very different to ride and l thought it was good So which newer bike is best in your opinion ?

Hi again.Currently have a 2013 300 Beta and Is a great bike and looking to blow my work bonus on a new bike in the next month. I've owned a new 4rt and was a really good bike, light tractable. awesome build quality etc and owned a fantastic 2012 Beta Evo 250 Factory. Both brilliant bikes in their own right.. Im really interested in either a new Montesa Repsol or a 2015 Factory Beta..that has not been released yet So with the release of the 2015 250 Factory immanent. Does anyone know what the specs are and colour etc??? They say that Italy will have the first lot available but would be interested to know if anyone knows anything more?? Which of the two mentioned bike…

Any recommendations for a chain lube that isn't too sticky? Currently using Rock Oil and always applying it days before a ride to give it a chance to soak in but its so sticky that the chain gets filthy in no time. I do have some Wurth dry chain lube, that worth trying?

After the first round on the indoor world championship, what are peoples views on dougs performance? Is he past his best? Just not used to 2 stroke yet? Is his best to come? Are we simply convincing ourselves his best is to come based on his early days performance on a 2 stroke? Or perhaps he's just not up there with the best now? Whats your view?????????????????????????? One things for sure you can't knock him for his enthusiam for trying.

For a little while I’ve wanted to know the actual difference in weight between a Montesa 300rr and a GasGas 300 racing. Having ridden both extensively I always get the feeling the Honda is much more than the claimed 72kg considering how much heavier it feels compared to the claimed 67kg gasgas. Fairly sure these figures must be dry, no fuel, oils and coolant etc. I decided to get the scales out! Both bikes were fitted with a full set of guards, fork, frame and swingarm, all ready to be ridden with oils, coolant and a full tank of fuel. The only real difference to the spec was the Montesa had been fitted with a heavier duty Csp sump guard, approx 500g more…

Since its been implied I am a luddite (regarding EFI) and the number who have problems with hydraulics I thought I would start tis thread. Do we need hydraulic brakes and clutches on trials bikes? I have never had to retire from an event either trials or MX because of a cable failure. I have had retirements because of damage to hydraulic parts as do several others I know. Quite a few seem to struggle with brake hydraulics in particular, but I would think most could fix mechanical systems much easier.

I see GasGas is switching from the Reiger rear shock to Ohlins. Any thoughts or experience on one vs the other? When I shop them separately, I see the Ohlins at almost one half the cost of the Reiger. Purely a cost savings approach? Is performance apples to apples? Cheers!

I see that outdoor 'non contact sports' may go head and resume later this month, so that leads us onto the sport we enjoy Apart from section queues, I think some good measure of social distancing, can be achieved and Club and Centre Trials Nationals and bigger events, like Scott and SSDT with large amounts of Spectators may be more tricky Just before lock down I was at the Cleveland National and they had sectioned off and roped off sections, so spectators and riders were 'distanced' Punch cards were abandoned, in favour of marker boards by Observers and 2 Observers per section (not necessary at a Club trial) Practice grounds - I see our local one …

So, with Alfredo Gomez not getting Montesa bikes for 2012 (p*** poor timing for Alfredo), Fabio Lenzi leaving the Future Montesa team and Laia Sanz, now on the Gas Gas, how long before, either Honda pull the plug on Montesa, or show continued interest in motorcycle trials with the launch of a new bike. Personally I'd like to see Honda continue, (I love my 4RT) In my personal opinion, they should ditch the Montesa name and sell the new bike as a Honda RTL, because thats what effectively they have been and would be (Its not like Honda dont have any history or success in trials is it). Well, time has come I'm afraid...... Got meself a 315R and a helmet, and going to my first Trial as a competitor on Sunday. Slightly nervous to say the least, so any words of wisdom would be most welcome. I've given the bike a good servicing to, so there should be no snags there....its just my bottle that might let me down.... I think I've covered all the bases, but if theres anything obvious (to you) that I will defo need, let me know. Do I need to bother with tools etc, or is it a case of Bike broken-time to retire? Been trying to buy a Dave Cooper bike rack for past two days. The only contact numbers on their web site are a Tel/Fax number which is usually engaged, but otherwise goes straight to fax, and a mobile number which doesn't connect. I have text'd it but no reply yet. I'm stuck in the Isle of Man at the moment working (with no TMX to hand), does anybody know him, or have better contact numbers for him? I rode dirt bikes as a teen, road bikes in my 30s. Now I'm in my mid 40s and have been racing road bicycles and mountain bikes for 10 years. I've always been fond of trials (motorcycle and bicycle) and recently found out there are some active clubs here in Michigan. So I'm thinking about giving it a shot. I've been keeping my eye out for used bikes for a few months now. It's winter here so I haven't had the chance to get out and talk to the locals. I did chat with one on the phone and he gave me the impression that 250s are great for everyone and 300s are a "handful". I'm just looking for a second opinion. Unlike Europe, trials bikes are a little harder to come by…
