  1. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has fitted an OKO 24mm flatslide carb (copy of Kehin PKW) to their TLR? If just fitted one (with a lot of mucking about) pilot is #55, main is #118. Needle on centre groove. Runs ok to mid throttle, then like ***** above that. Just wondering what others have done.

  2. Started by johnnyjazz,

Hey friends, any thoughts on this for the reflex? I've installed new EBC grooved pads but rear brake is still terrible! - is re machining the drum a better option? thanks for any insight before i drop some $$

  3. Any help, greatly appreciated... I'm struggling! I recently purchased a Honda RS200T twin shock. Unfortunately, a PO registered the bike with DVLA as manufactured 1985, when Honda only produced these from 1979-1981! Trying to correct this error, I've obtained proof (Dating Certificate), from Honda Owners Club (GB), confirming 1979 as YOM - Honda GB and Japan, weren't able to assist... but DVLA won't accept and are asking for more info! They've suggested an excerpt of the production record from Honda's worldwide database, amongst other things! Where could I locate that?!? I'm running out of ideas, clearly the bike has been incorrectly registered, but wh…

  4. Hello friends, yet another noob question..please forgive my continued ignorance and inexperience! I have looked online prior to posting but just got confused by all the conflicting info out there. I am going to try to replace the rear tire myself (never done it before) and have a question regarding rim locks. The bike doesn't currently have one and I run at about 10psi and haven't had any problems (it was like this when I got it). Should I put one in now just to be safe- is that the done thing, or is it ok without? And if so, does the rim lock go in first and then you mount the tire, or do you mount the tire then put in the rim lock? I think I need to drill a ho…

  5. Started by Nishijin,

Hi all, I've bought a 1983 MD09 TLR200, so a 'proper' TLR200 vs the Reflex. The only Clymer manual I could see on Haynes is on its way to me, but I'm aware some parts may not be correct. For example it looks like front sprockets (JTF329) are different to the Reflex (JTF328). I've ordered the 329's (PO had it geared very high as a commuter...!) I want to buy a new coil/ht/cap as the original cap is a bit past-it and a spare in the box would be best. Online the only ignition coils I can see are for 1986/87. Any idea of a cross-reference for what parts are compatible between the 1983 and the 86/87? Thanks.

Hello friends, hoping someone with more knowledge than I could help with a question!... I have a TLR reflex that I use for trials, however it is fully road legal as I need to ride to my spots. Is there any way one could install some kind of switch to essentially turn the 'lighting' circuit off but keep the bike running? i was told it runs 2 seperate circuits.... Currently the woods are mid winter bare and the lack of leaf cover makes me quite visible to passers by (cop callers). Thealways on headlight esp can be seen a mile off! just wondering if one could install a 'stealth' option...has anyone done this? Not sure where in the wiring one would put it or if it…

  8. Started by jimg,

Probably a question I'll get beat up on, but I'm a new owner to a very custom TRL200 trials bike. The bike rides Extremely well, but I've always rode 2-stroke bikes (Bultacos, TY's, SWM, COTA's) and just don't like the engine braking (after throttle is shut off), as it's quite noticeable and "jerky". This is not clutch related on clutch engagement, as I already have the anit-jutter kit installed (which makes a tremendous difference). I assume lower gearing would help some, but it's already been geared down. Does anybody have any tips/tricks (besides "get used to it") or engine/head modifications? My bike has a ATC 200X head on it. p.s. I rode the TLR back-to-b…

  10. Hello friends, as you probably gathered by now i don't know much, so forgive me for asking if this is a stupid question! can i remove the carbon air canister thing that sits in front of the airbox? i fell off quite spectacularly recently (my specialty) and the bike ended up totally upside down. next thing i know ive got oil dripping out the airbox and the air filter is dripping in oil...i drained the tube that comes out the bottom of the crankcase and it was indeed full. im guessing its from the engine via that carbon canister unit? my understanding is that was put there for EPA emissions in the US? i dont think the UK TLRs have it do they? if i remove it i'm as…

  12. What mod is this on the poor lil tl125 I just picked up???

  13. Hi friends, sorry to be a nuisance again but i was hoping to garner some info to help me along...i have tried to do my due diligence to research but the web is so full of thoughts/opinions trying to access the pertinent (correct) info can be challenging. Rather than try and go for what someone said in on page 9 of a 37 page thread from 2007 i shall just try and start again! (i am a Noob) Q/ i know the reflex's that came stateside were set to run lean and have a #38 pilot jet. i obtained a #40 from what i thought was a 'reliable on line source' only to find out it def looks the wrong one (Part # 99124-076-0400). Rather than 'shove in in' and mess everything up and …

My TL250 can be finicky when starting hot, like 90 degrees and low humidity. Are there any tricks or methods that may help? With near full choke and maybe 1/3 throttle it starts very easy cold.

  15. Some questions for the mechanical meastros! Please forgive me if answers are posted already. My fingers have been walking down google lane all morning but still not sure. So, despite my best intentions to enjoy the bike 'for what it is' - (a poor US hillbilly cousin of kinda decent Euro bike) my desire to practice all the trials stuff i grew up with in the UK overrides my desire to 'trail ride or green laning' which i thought would take priority. The predicted choir that shall be singing "dump the reflex and buy a proper trials bike" please remember the ONLY reason for getting this bike is it's fully street legal and i have to ride past a cop shop to my secr…

  16. Hello friends, could someone recommend (if there is one?) a replacement gear shifter that goes directly on the shaft and does away with convoluted linkage. Looking for one with the offset clearance etc.. Thanks so much in advance! johnny

  18. Started by MichaelW,

I purchased a 520-96 replacement chain for my 1986 Honda TLR200, and when it came, it is larger than stock chain, but everything I read says it should be 520-96 chain? Was stock chain a smaller chain non-O-ring chain? I also purchased new front & rear sprockets, and old chain seems to fit new sprockets, but 520-96 does not? Thanks in advance Mike

First, totally new to this websight. In turn, my question has probably already been answered. Specifically, what USA dealers keep Cota 300 parts in stock (Honda OEM replacement, not aftermarket)? My local Honda dealer didn't even know Honda sold trials bikes. Thanks in advance!
