The Thames MCC would like to clearly state for competitors and spectators alike that this weekends British Solo Championship is definately ON. Final preparations have taken place today and sections have been tried and tested and it looks like a great event is in store for all. There will be the usual F & M disinfection wheel wash facillities as a precaution, but with the good weather promised it will be an event to be proud of.

Regs are out for the British Sidecar Champs on 6th April in Mid Wales. I don't have too many details other than those in the Regs yet, but if there's any questions I can certainly find out. Last year was combined with the Classic Champs and there was some concern over the Classic being too easy. This year it's back to the old format, with the solo's providing a support class for the sidecars. I understand that I will be dragged in to mark out the support route for the Expert solo's, but we have a mix of sidecar old boys and up to date sidecar boys to sort the chairs out. For those that rode last year, the start was in a quarry. This year, the start is moved up the roa…

We have just received the list for the British championship. The entries for the expert class are slightly different this year and there may be some spaces left for riders who wouldn't normally be on the reserve list. A place isn't guaranteed but If you are interested then please contact me through my email on TC or telephone 01855 831445 and ask for Sandra. The trial is on the 13th April - 9am start. Scottie

The next round of the British Championship is being held at Hook Woods in Surrey on 16th September. I have been doing a bit of helping out in setting up some sections, and I just want to say "if you can get there its going to be a fantastic event". Jim Connor has spent months arrangeing this with the help of John Sands and many more, I can only describe the sections as being almost World round for the Championship class, and very challanging for the Expert Class. Some of the biggest trees in the World, let alone Surrey have been placed in some amazing places, some are ten foot in the air from floor to top. Jim has spent ages with the digger transforming the sections …

Regs for the last round of the British youth trials championship have been sent to T&MXN and will soon be in. Included in the regs are details about the special ferry rates via Red Funnel Ferries. Alan Gosden is now the main orgainiser of events at Shorwell, any inquires contact him on 01983865495. I am mainly working on the British indoor youth trial on the Saturday night, and have today had a meeting with the owner of Brickfields arena who will be organising extra seating for the event. He has also given us permision to have a big PA system set up in the arena with a DJ banging out the tunes. We also hope to have a light show going on so its looking more and mor…

The Valentine trial on the 23rd January will now be run at Bourne Bridge, the venue scheduled for the December trial. Located opposite the services at the four went ways junction of the A11 and A1307. This is necessary as the track leading up to the site at rectory farm is in a very bad state and it is unlikely that vehicles will be able to negotiate it.

After a careful inspection of the venue at Cliffe Lane on Sunday 04/12/2011, the Clerk of Course deemed the venue unsuitable for OSET Championship E-Class event due to the conditions on the ground. With the expectation that the conditions underfoot will remain as they are at best and maybe worsen by the time of the Trial. We hope you understand that we have to consider the safety of the young competitors first, and we acknowledge that some will be disappointed at not being able to ride. Please Note The Novice & Beginners Trial being held the same day is NOT affected (as of writing this) and will continue to run as normal. The Novice & Beginners Trial will not be…
