As the year draws to a close with Christmas in the wings the 2013 Peak Classic Trials Club Championship did likewise with Round 11 taking place at Burrycliffe Quarry near Elton, Derbyshire. Considering there was a dates clash with another local club the turn out of riders who chose to support us was heartening. 4 laps of 10 sections was the order of the day and the recent inclement weather had a day off and though cold it stayed dry for the event and the sections were challenging but a lot of cleans were recorded. Simon Critchley riding his Majesty had a good ride on the Expert route to win on a respectable score of 22 ahead of his close friend and traveling buddy Simon…

So far some of the more enterprising have used standard entry forms and a blank cheque (whoo-hoo, new bike for me)or the details on the ACU web-site; which means there are alreay 40 or so entries - please be quick it will close when full which was within a week last year. The trial itself will still be 50 sections over 1 lap, imagine if Carlsberg did a national, this would be it

The Dudley club won the Evesham round of the Midland Centre Group trials series on Sunday at Grove Quarry, a mere 4 points better than the Leamington Victory team. In third place was Evesham 39 marks back, followed by the Stratford Team a distant 214 marks behind the winners. Best ride on the day went to Dudleys Buster Reagan who lost just three marks beating Ben Sprigg by a single dab. The easier B route was always going to be tight at the top and Connor Evans matched his father Dave both on clean. A spirited ride by Eveshams Mick Chapman gave him third place, despite only loosing two marks, one better than Dave Morris who lost three. The under strength S…

Sad news, the Crowthorne Trials Club will be holding its last ever trial this Sunday at Frensham Vale, Nr Farnham Surrey. Due to a lack of entries and the cost of land the sums just don't add up. If any one would like to take the club on please contact me or Neil Varney. The club runs under YMSA for both youth and adult. Very Sorry we did our best. Nick Heane

RRND are running the August round of the South Coast Group Championshipts at Beare Green, Surrey on Sunday 14th August. Unfortunately this coincides with the 'London-Surrey Cycle Classic' event which is going to cause road closures and severe disruption around Dorking. These closures will not impact the trial venue directly, but if any riders are intending to travel from north of Dorking, or via the A25 then they should plan an alternative route. We have been warned that traffic is likely to be very heavy on all surrounding roads from early on Sunday morning. Just as a reminder the venue is at Beare Green, near Ockley and will be signposted from the A29. Directions: If…

Did the Dudley trial at Old mine in Kinlet last Sunday. Cracking trial...so thanks to all the organisers....also my first time at the old mine. I've noticed there's quite a few trials held there, which is good news, because I personally thought it was a really good venue. Would be nice to see the results though...are they online anywhere??

Manchester 17 MCC Ltd are holding the latest of their highly popular "Dead Easy" trials this weekend, Sunday 6th April. There will be the usual two-route main course, with the easier route being put on for Adult/Youth beginners & riders on twinshock/pre-65 bikes. The harder route is slightly more technical and suited to Novice/Clubman riders. As the club is actively trying to encourage younger riders we are also putting on a separate 2-route conducted trial. Consisting of 8 sections set over a small lap (so not too far for Mum & Dad to walk around) it is ideal for absolute beginner Youth C/D riders, those on small/medium wheel TY80/auto's etc (must be tr…

Bit late getting them on here so apologies. I took on the entries this year, and sorting the results out, and with the fun trial on the Monday too, I was under pressure a bit. Well, Sagar did me over this year and managed to clean the whole damned thing, although he nearly had a dab on my section, one of the easiest of the trial, while he was showboating Well done to him. I've been looking at the results generally, and maybe with the weather being so good it turned out slightly easier than usual for some classes. Notably the over 40's are right up there on the yellow route. Maybe we need yet another class - Over 40 Inters :-) Well probably not, we've already got 15 cla…
