  1. Peak Classic Trials Club held Round 1 of their 2009/2010 Club Championship at Burycliffe Quarry, Elton Derbyshire on Sunday 15th February and made the most of a milder spell in the wintry weather of late. A brief shower of sleet had a few of the 66 entries worried but the threatening snow failed to materialize. Burycliffe had a good covering of the white stuff only days previously but no sign was left by the start of the trial other than the, unusual for Burycliffe, mud of section 9. Due to the weather and the fact that the trial was followed by the presentation of the Championship awards for last season at the Miners Standard pub only 4 laps of 10 sections comprised th…

  2. Spring has finally sprung and the Peak district basked in glorious spring sunshine which made the popular Stathams farm venue a bit uncharacteristicly dry and dusty for the Peak Classic Trials Clubs round 3 of their Club championship last Sunday 25th April. Due to the conditions the course setters Martin Booth and Paul Beswick agreed that 4 laps of 12 sections would be more appropriate than the normal 5 laps of 10. The main worry being that in the prevailing dry conditions the sections would cut up quickly. So to reduce wear and tear to this picturesque venue we found a couple of "new" sections. All of the 50 entries seemed to enjoy the course and a great time was had by…

Details now on the front page but in case anyone doesn't read the front page, here they are again: On 17th June, South Birmingham Club are running the twinshock solo team trial. In addition to the twinshocks, the event will also incorporate two additional classes. Following the cancellation of the Pre70 team trial in Cornwall, a class has been added for club entered teams for Pre70 British solo bikes and there will also be a class for modern sidecar teams. Anyone can submit a team, so it is an ideal opportunity to get together with a bunch of mates and have yourself a ride in some excellent trials country. The course will include roadwork and be on the Clee Hill, which …

  13. Due to the wild weather, the wind has whipped the snow up into drifts which we don't think will have cleared by Sunday, the decision has been taken to cancel. Our next trial is the 8th April which has road work and is part of the Northern British series. After that it's April 29th at Rhodesia (Worksop), this not being the normal date as the land owner is attending the classic Scottish

Darlington & D.M.C. Trial Howtop, Grinton, Sunday. Darlington & District Motor Club stills draws huge entries to Swaledale for its series of trials.. How many remember the Scott Trial organised by Hilda and Norman Waters? These days they run under the AMCA banner and last Sunday one hundred and twenty two competitors assembled at How Top which is found by starting from the Bridge Inn in Grinton then follow the direction of Leyburn but don’t miss the right turn to Redmire , which takes you past How Top, which feels like the top of the world. Whilst the team were about to set the sections on Saturday, their peace was disturbed with the arrival of the L…
