Dear all Please note that despite malicious rumurs being circulated by Factory Kev etc at GG UK I am not so efficient and have not yet ( and will not for a couple of months yet) produced any regs for 2007 Lakes 2 Day. Please don't waste time e.mailing for regs as they don't exist Thanks Mick Wren Lakes 2 Day Secretary

I was at my FLD looking at the new Bonnie and said dealer mentioned that, as of next year, all motorcycles must have anti lock braking. A quick Google seemed to confirm this. Can anyone in manufacture/import say how this will affect the ability to register a trials bike or will the SSDT become "used bikes only"? Is the ACU aware of this one?

Anyone out there converted a pre65 or twinshock to tubeless rear rim and if so where did you get the rim from and what price are they? I've never been bothered about doing this before as I don't feel there's any performance advantage from one or the other, however, I am sick to the hind teeth of puncturing what are fast becoming next to useless IRC tubed rear tyres. The sidewalls are now ridiculously soft and give even with 5psi. Any lower and I can't ride the bike across a camber as it rolls down it and at 5psi grip is being lost to a degree. The carcass is very thin also and the punctures now seem never ending. The tubed Michelin that's available is like having a sli…

I've searched the forums and seen mentions of the Clipic bikes. Even saw some footage of one on Yoo Tube. However Googling it only leads to dead links in the Uk and the official Clipic website doesn't seem to have any links to importers. I'd be grateful for anyone's advice on how they've found the 50cc, and how much it cost. The Sherco 50 is also in the running but at

Now without wishing to be defeatisit I really don't see the British team winning this year, not against Bou, Raga, Caby and co, so should the ACU team selectors think forward? I respectfully suggest Dibs is a definate but surely there must be a case for Michael Brown to be included as one of the four? By the time the TDN comes round he will have won the Junior title and (guessing here) will have competed in a couple of WTC top routes by then as well, just like dibs did (in 05?). So that would leave two places for more experienced riders to show the younger riders the way. Which two is up to others. Before anyone suggests it there is no hidden agenda here just think it…

as a newbie I thought some-one could clue me up on this.. Are some trials bikes road legal (those with headlights and V5?) What is the benefit of a road legal trials bike? What would you look for as a beginner - I guess you pay more for a road legal bike? If buying a non road legal bike how do you check the seller is the owner!

Just a thought... is it possible to suggest NEW areas for the forum? Was thinking that it might be a good idea to have a section devided into Reigons of the UK (and potentially other countries). The idea behind which is that it might be helpful for event organising, meeting fellow riders online - and at events, and become a good resource for YOUR area? What do you think? Cheers - Matt.

Hi, Just recovering LOL from entering the Essex n Suffolk's Trial on Sunday @ Raydon, I'm very new to all this, I found the trial quite a challenge - a good thing, I'm not moaning its only my 3rd attempt. I attempted every section and received 165 out 210 points (I came last LOL) But I'm surprised so many of the "Novices" look like experts to me....... Is the Novice really the clubman and should I be looking for Beginners / Wobbler's trials.. Just like to hear peoples thoughts on difficulty factor, a couple of the guys there said different clubs run at different leaves of difficulty. I'm off to practice jumping over logs without bailing out LOL NLL

I'm getting good info out of this forum - keep it up! Next doubless silly question - where do I get chain and sprocket kits from? My prefered source is Ebay for most things these days but I can only find one vendor doing actual kits, there are a few others doing back / front sprox and possibly chains. To my mind, when one is knackered they are all knackered so you may as well get it all in one kit. I was suprised to find next to nowt in the back of TMX. I know its a minority sport and there isn't much about but there must be a supplier somewhere that you all use surely. Still cannot source a manual for my Beta techno 1999, anyone got a copy? ta

Howdy All, I am new to the site and new to trials. I use to be into the Motorcross scene years ago,but i got bored of flying over jumps and going round the same track so i stopped. Anyway,i use to look on at the riders who trial ride and think to myself, how do they get up them vertical cliffs, lol. Just recently i have been looking into trial riding and want to get involved. First i need the equipment though, any bikes you can recommend? Been told that GAS GAS are good for high end competition but if you are a beginner then get a Montesa or scorpa or even a beta.I have heard that there is problems with Gas Gas after a short time and there not built to last, wonder if …

Not really sure what is going on here, but there is a plea in TMX for results sheets, photograhps, programmes and the sorts to prove the activity of motorcycle events going back to the 1960's. If any one has these they need to email lynda@mauntrials.fsnet.co .uk or fax it to 01623 628176. Anyone know what is going on ?

Just got back from Nord Vue, where the Briish Experts trial took place, and I had a really great day. Graham Jarvis has sorted some awesome sections, blending natural areas of the quarry with manmade sections, and all sections were very challenging. Dougie won with Michael Brown second and Dabil third. Bit of a scare for us all when dougie tried section 13 on lap 2 ( which had 2 vertical climbs of about 12 feet) and failed to reach top of second one. His father was shouting about his injured eye while still holding onto Dougie's bike, looked like handlebar had hit him above the eye, when a medic eventually came there was quite a bit of blood to be seen good job it missed …

OK, now that the ladies have settled their off-topic dispute with handbags at dawn, does anyone have any sensible comments on the perception that scottish trials might be in one of their downward trends following the huge influx of newcomers after the Foot and Mouth epidemic. And could it be that the lack of trial previews, reports, results, and general scottish chat on TC and on SACU and some club websites doesn't help to retain interest in the game or give inspiration to would-be competitors?. Slapshot3 suggested that changes in club personnel might have a lot to do with the information shortage, is this a new generation type thing?. Most guys of John Collins e…
