I know the routes are due out about now, but does anyone know if it will be the usual group Monday afternoon? Lagnaha, is that what it is called? The one where they sell the cake and tea from the hall opposite. Coming up on the road bike and won't get there until Monday pm so will head straight there if that's the case. Some of us are still at work (but heading up tommorow ) and my day entailed seeing a couple of customers in Liverpool, so early start and on the M6 at 0630Hrs. At 0715Hrs we came to a grinding halt 5 miles before Junction 15..............and I was still there at 1100Hrs, I noted that the 3rd lane was now starting to move, I did what any Law abiding ''Van Driver'' would do and ''BARGE'' my way into that lane hoping to get off at 15 and head South. The plan worked as I made up the 5 miles in the next half hour off at 15 and back South 1145Hrs.....ish. Those of you in Scotland will be only too aware of the Suzanne Pilley murder enquiry that is ongoing at the moment. For those of you who don't know, investigations have led police to Glen Croe and the Rest And Be Thankful on the A83, to the north west of Loch Lomond. They're appealing to any SSDT enthusiasts who may have been in the area on Wednesday 5th May....our route didn't go anywhere near there, but there will have been quite a few folk on the road during the week, so if you were anywhere near that area on the Wednesday, please take a couple of minutes to check out our article on www.ssdt.org. Paw Moffat is away to the But n Ben early to practice his patter for ssdt week. Every morning this week he'll be in the West End car park with Wee Jean's hairbrush & wearing Wee Stevie's ear muffs holding interviews with many unsuspecting tourists. With any luck the local constabulary will only caution him for this behaviour & he'll still be available for PF duties next week.

Overnight leader James Dabill - Beta held his nerve brilliantly to secure the win during a tense and close finish to the centenary edition of the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT). Riding at the front of the field Dabill lost marks as early as the second group at Upper Mamore to see his advantage reduced to just two marks and then saw things come far too close for comfort as he dropped a further dab at Leanachan. Holding just a one mark lead going into Ben Nevis, Dabill showed great composure by cleaning all six sections in what looked like a certain winning performance until he parted with another dab at Nevis Forest to leave him tied on the same marks overall as Alexz Wigg…

I was looking through the day one results and noticed the name D.Thorpe. Is this the former 500cc MX World Champ David Thorpe? I looked around and couldnt find anymore info.

Got home late last night, great few days weather was great apart from Sunday. HOWEVER...... The Pre-65 was rather spoiled for me again by the muppets who think it's okay to take their bikes off road because they can't be a***d walking. Friday Meall Na-Cruidhe not many but one or two bikes out on the moors thrashing around all over the place, I know there were a few press bikes but these folk need to be more obvious, yellow press bib?? As for the one I chased, wish I'd got the plate number, 315 mont if anyone's willing to own up......... Saturday was a different story, you could barely move at the top of Mamore for bikes and som eof the Rambles were not chuffed either.…

Heavy rain and strong winds at times failed to knock Dougie Lampkin (Gas Gas) off course as he moved within touching distance of recording a seventh Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) win following his performance today. Lampkin parted with only one mark on day five to open up a commanding lead ahead of tomorrow's final showdown as his nearest challengers faltered in the testing conditions. When James Dabill’s - Beta name was read out as the winner of the 2011 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) late last Saturday evening, his wide smile told the story. After enduring six days of highs and lows the current British trials champion took a moment to fully absorb the scale of his achievement, having claimed victory at the centenary edition of this legendary event. Just finished watching the DVD of this years six days, I'd heard that it was a tough one but christ, rocks, rocks and more rocks with water thrown in for good measure. I was worn out watching it. Much respect to all those who finished it, I might be fit enough in about 10 years.

I've decided to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation which aims to grant magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses while i attempt this years SSDT. I know a lot of people are struggling financially right now, so only donate if you can.
