Just out of interest have the commitee ever considered getting some sort of tv coverage? I have recently dicovered the program "blood sweat & gears" on the extreme sports channel which covers loads of different british events, mx, enduro I even saw some trials on there at one point. Obviously there would be some sort of cost involved so may not be viable. just wondering

Does anyone know what happened to Howard Jackman who rode a 240 Armstrong in the 1984 SSDT? He may have been a works rider.

Digging through some old paperwork and came across the 1983 official programme for the SSDT. For me it was the start of something special, not to bore you! but it was my first SSDT and I have been fortunate enough to ride a few more Thought some facts from this programme might make interesting reading: Riders of note this week some ''Blasts from the past'' 2. Instructions on how to enter the 2013 SSDT are now on ssdt.org Entries will be via the website only and open on the 5th October and close on the 14th December To enter you must first register on the SSDT website although you can enter for your mates via your registration Good luck

hi im going to do a cycle next sat. the reason i put this on the ssdt page is its the fri route at the scottish. as a long time supporter and watcher of the ssdt I think it has now become to predictable for to many years now we have not had the top continental riders after over thirty years with hardly a break I would like to see our top domestic riders put under the pressure that Michaud Vestrinan Shrieber Burgat etc brought to the Highland Classic.

Michael Brown has found himself in familiar territory at the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) this week in Fort William. The 25 year-old Gas Gas rider from Scarborough, who has so far been runner-up in the SSDT four times (in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011), starts day six in third place, chasing his first ever win. With only one mark separating Brown from second-placed James Dabill (Beta), and current leader Dougie Lampkin (Gas Gas) just two marks in front, today's final battle for the top spot will be closely fought.

After five long days of battle incredibly only two marks separate the top three riders, leaving everything set for a tight and tense finale to the 2012 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT). Dougie Lampkin (Gas Gas) will take a single mark lead into the final day of the event tomorrow as he bids to claim a record-breaking sixth win at this world famous event. His closest challenger James Dabill (Beta) rode himself right back into contention today, as he went clean on a day when his rivals all increased their tallies.
