Youth Trials

Hi i'm after one or even better 2 riders to compete in the inter centre team trial on 10th september. i need riders from B or C class, i have 3 A class riders confirmed. Must be from the Southern Centre ACU I'm looking for anyone that will try hard and finish the trial to their best ability, no-one will judge your riding or put you down if you have a five etc, you will have all expenses paid for and complete support of myself and the rest of the team, including the adult team, catching / drinks / advice etc. please either message me here or wholdsworth@QinetiQ.com or give me a call 07977 931897. thanks for reading wayne

Im not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question but here goes, How young can you be to ride a 250cc Trials bike within the ACU rules, If a 16/17 year old enters as a Youth 'A' he / She must ride a 125cc, However the rule book Page 157 at the bottom of the page states : "RIDERS AGE a) Adult riders : A Rider must be at least 16 years of age to participate as an Adult." So in effect a 16 year old as long as he enters as a "Novice" for example can ride a 250cc. Can anyone clear this up. Cheers, Vaughan.

Why not a youth World Championhship? Run the event on a similar foremat to the ladies world championship, perhaps even at the same time and on the same course.

First post for me... I know this kind of question turns up fairly often and I've read through the similar questions on the forum, but my Son is new to trials; ridden probably 5 times (2 local trials with me) and currently has a Beta minitrial (do not seem to get that good a rep on the board but it has done him well for the short period he has had it since he now has confidence in his balance and braking skills to some extent without the confusion of bringing a clutch into the situation). However after the short intro on this bike (he is 9, average size) I think progress to a manual bike with more power is required, the auto minitrial is limited on some of the hills. T…

In what was generally regarded as one of the best rounds to date this year, despite some fears that the sections were on the hard side all competitors had a great day on tough but fair sections in Harwood Dale. Jack sheppard scored a predictable win in the A's but his score or rather margin of win shows how well he rode. results Sheppard beta 19 Evans Luter GG 60 Sdler Sherco 72 Short GG 73 Brain GG 83 Luke Walker managed his first success of the year in the B's with a clear cut win on the Sherco. hi i am selling my beta rev 80 to get a new bike. I have rode my dads 250 beta and i was going to get one, But i recently went to a trial and found if i wanted to enter i would need a 125 because I will be getting the bike for my 14th birthday. I can get either 125 or 250 but i realy want to enter comps, and I also want a lot of power. will a 125 have a lot of power ? thanks for reading.

Evening all, To compliment their Oset and Minichamps Junior Trials Championships, Mansfield Maun are holding a junior practice day on the 24th Feb. All juniors are welcome whether riding electric or petrol bikes.

A big well done to Abergavenny for another brilliant National. The A and B sections had been eased but were tough,(just as it should be). I think we must have been the only place not to get the rain which made for a great weekend.

Hi Dont know what to buy for my 14 year old. we dont have any 010s 125s in the country yet, so cant try one. We would like feedback on the new gas gas and beta. Bottom end power , smoothness, get up and go. Its hard to make a decision just reading the spec. Has the new crank in the gasgas made much differance. Pete

Hi all, Right...What are the age groups for the youth.Im 14 but i dont know whether i go in the youth A or B can someone please help.Also if this means anything i was only 13 at the beginning of the year.Thanks

It's early days but there are only 14 riders entered at Mansfield Maun's Challenge Lusky A and B round as this is posted. There's only until the 15th February to get the entries in so Dad's will have to move quickly to get the entry in. Funnily enough it's seven in each class!

The first two A & B nationals have prompted much discussion re time limits,out of class etc. Ithought it might be helpful for some experienced lads and dads to say here how they would like to see national trials set out. As a clerk of the coirse myself and trials national dad in my 5th season I dont want any organisers to see this as critisam as I know that running atrial is far from a perfect science and I guarantee you will not please all the people all the time.It also depends on hw much help you get. Just checked the ACU list for the A and B class nationals and it seems we will be back at Bracken Rocks in May. I've never seen two National events at the same venue in the same year before and is surely overkill? On the Plus side Scarborough's excellent IRC trial has made it into the list.

There will be a kids trial this Friday at Butsfield. This is suitable for all ages and bikes from Osets up to 125's. It's all about fun and learning trials with no pressure, so as long as they can start and stop safely they will manage. There will be half a dozen sections they can practice then have a fun trial of 6 laps. After a break there will be some more sections set out for them to walk, then ride then run another fun trial. Results will be both trials combined All in all a good fun day for the kids and a great way to start trialling.
