Just thought I would add our OSSA to this thread, 6 month ago My Son Scott and myself started to restore an OSSA TR 350, we finished it just this week. Hi, I have owned a Matchless 350 trials motor since 1965 and ready for the AMOC Towcester national Jampot rally a few years ago got it all together with 21" and 19" rims but in a road frame. I now have a desire to make it reasonably competitve in the clubmans sections. The question is what do I need to do please? I have alloy rims in stock, new tyres [they were in 2001!] and a rear frame section from an AMC lightweight plus a fiberglass tank. Your collective advice please. Thanks. Richard in Bedfordshire.

Can anyone help with advice. I have a Majesty 320 which I have had from new but not ridden since 1988. I am in the process of stripping it down for painting, new bearings etc. The forks have a large hex top cap in them which seems very stiff. I'm not sure how to dissemble them either. I will need to strip them down to refill and maybe fit new seals, and also the top of them is slightly pitted and could do with re-chroming. I think the bike, built by John Shirt, was a TY250, bored out with a bigger flywheel so the forks will be TY250 1978-ish. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi folks, I would like to know if a 1975 Bultaco Alpina 250 would make a good trials bike. If so, what are some things I should do to convert it? Thanks, Gordon

Hi all, I'm looking for some suggestions on S/SE Club(s) I'm based in Wallingford, S.Oxon (10 miles East of Oxford, 10 miles North of Reading) I'm returning to trials after a 25 year lay-off; back then I only did a couple of Clubman seasons on a Twinshock TY250, so never really reached any great standard. I've just bought a tidy '77 Montesa 348 Cota, and I'm looking to get started with some easy route events that'll suit my age / bike / ability and build my confidence, etc. Any & all suggestions will be gratefully received. Hi Guys I will be converting slowly royal enfield bullet road model to trials bike . I know in trials bike world 18 inch rear wheel is almost standard. Ages ago I posted details of my Norman B4 fitted with 8E motor. Having gone through it and replaced seals,bearings,rings and correct gearings I was disapointed in lack of power. Still using 8E barel with 40thou off top I was wondering what are the differences in the 7E barrel and compression. I have a spare standard barrel,so a case of reboring the suitable one with 1H piston,any words of wisdom out there?

Heard a rumour that tubless rear tyres are to be banned in the traditional series does anyone know if this is true as i am about to get my wheels rebuilt so i need to know which rims i can fit.

In the process of getting my James ready for the dreaded m.o.t. as the Scottish i rapidly approaching So is there anything i need to do or make sure of as i have never m.o.t. d a trials bike before. Do i need a horn? reflector ? speedo? All advice appreciated

Hi I am wondering if anybody could help me. I have just finished restoring an OSSA 250mar Mk 2(1975) and have bought a new Mikuni VM26 for it as the bike was running badly with an old worn Amal. It was hard to start and lost its tune very easily and constantly oiled the plugs However after fitting the new Mikuni VM26 it starts easy but hiccups and wont rev out when even slightly warm. The new carb has been set up with a 120 main and a 2.5 pilot but when running it appears starved of fuel. Any thoughts on what the correct jetting and settings should be? Any thoughts most welcomed Chris White

Can any body help me please. I have just fitted a wide Tiger Cub swinging arm to a BSA Bushman frame but the bantam hub appears to be too wide to fit. Is the Cub wheel hub and fittings narrower than the Bantam? I always thought they were the same. Or must I get a cub rear wheel? Oldun.

Hi, I am new to trials and I'd like to get into classic trials. I have an old twin shock Fantic and would at some later stage like to take up pre65. Does anyone know of clubs in central Scotland that accomodates this line of the sport or do I join a trials club and just go along with my Fantic? Cheers

Anyone tried a cylinder spacer on their Bantam to improve pulling power?

Hi all, im new here and new to trials! i did join here a while ago but never bought a bike until now. Anyway, i have just got a very good condition for age fantic k-roo 212cc and ill try and get some pics up. Please can anyone give me any pointers as to what to check, look out for, advice topics elsewhere and more importantly a service manual. I have a wiring diagram and thats it. I dont think i have bought a duffer anyway. It came from a mechanic and the bike is not tampered with and the guy bought it because it was untouched but doesnt use it. Hi Guys, Im interested in a AJS trials bike on Ebay item number 200317965961 it states its an ex-Peter Pykett bikes is this correct? if so did MR Pykett leave the std fixed footrests and the cylindrical tool box holder and 19" rear wheel on the bikes? please cast your eyes over this and give me your honest opinions.
