This is the video I shot at the vintage trials in Eastern Oregon yesterday. I suspect the landscape is a little different that our European friends encounter. There is deep sand and when there isn't sand there is deep powdery dirt. I only ride about two trials a year so I get rusty over the winter. At least that's the excuse I'm going with. That and I'm getting older (yesterday was my birthday) and I had no intention of getting too hurt, which is a why I skipped that one section. I was going to post this in the Trials Video section but I thought the classic people would appreciate it more.

  6. I am not sure if this little bike qualifies as a classic but it looks like a late 1970`s or early 1980`s bike to me I know of a cheap old Montese Cota 50 for sale but the seller does not know which year this ol bike is made. The bike starts and drives The bike is missing the rear fender and a side cover on the engine from what i can tell from looking at the pictures Any fellow member here that knows which year this bike was made? Is it original with disc brakes up front and a mono rear shock instad of 2 rear shocks? One shock absorber on each side of the bike? Also is this anything to buy? Is the bike original because the pictures i saw when i did…

Hi Folks, Contary to the tone of other threads on this forum, I've started to put together a heavy weight Matchless 350, and am considering where the sparks should come from. It's currently running a total loss system using points and a coil, which is fine for running around a field but not much use for a trial. I intend to re-fit a magneto and having looked on line have seen the new BTH electornic mags. Does anyone have experiecce of these? Are they worth fitting? Is there a better alternative, or better value for money option? And if this is the best option, should I go for the fixed ignition or digital advance version? I'd apreciate your thoughts and experience…

  11. hi, seems to be 2 schools of thought, one with engine running and other with timing marks on points rotor, mine has Electronic ign, do you remove top bolt and loosen bottom bolt, push down 3 or 4 times to makes sure tensioner moves and retighten or ? thanks.

Does anyone know where abouts on the frame it is or if its on a plate that may have been knocked off? I know the frame has been re-sprayed at some point. Thank you in advance. Graham

Afternoon all. Don't suppose anyone here has entered? If so, have you received your entry for the trial? I'm guessing mine must be caught in the post as I've not heard anything at all! Hope to see you there in 2 weeks! I'll be on a nice and shiny (to start with anyway!) Royal Enfield. All the best, Pete.

Hi, just changed the clutch springs in my Ossa Mar250 trying to make the pull more acceptable and now the kickstart doesn't work when the kickstart lever is moved by hand there is very little pressure and then you hear (What i assume to be the return spring) make a spring slipping noise, but the engine hardly turns before the spring makes it's noise and the lever just flops. Any guidance appreciated, i have checked cable isn't kinked and has plenty of slack at the lever, but have'nt gone back to original springs yet but i cant see the clutch slipping, as i know the kickstart drives through the clutch. I guess its something obvious i'm missing.

Hi, Can anyone help me with the frame of my recently bought Bultaco Sherpa 350 199a made in 1979, The rear is different to my 250 which is one piece right round, this one is two separate sides. Please have a look at the photos and let me know if it is supposed to be like this. Thanks for the help.
