I'm getting my 2009 Evo 300 4t back together after carb cleaning, etc. and can't figure out how to attach the throttle cable to the carb - DUH! I can't see how the sandwich of disks described below is fixed to the carb shaft in the proper position to wrap the cable. Maybe it is just a friction fit with the nut holding it in the proper place??? ============================================================= The throttle shaft comes out of the right side of the carb where it passes through a spring loaded metal "disk" that has some notches, cutouts and holes in it. The outer right end of the shaft is threaded. The next piece that goes on is a sort of snail shaped thin m…

Hiya, I was trying to setup my suspension, got the front preload and damping setup as per the book for my weight and it feels good, the lockrings on the rear were proving difficult, so I thought I'd take it off for a good cleap up. The shock looks a bit scraggy with my boot rubbing against it, so I was considering getting it coated again. Is it possible to remove the spring from the shock on the 06 rev3? I guess it must be because I know others have put heavier springs in. How do you get either end off the chock though? Thanks in advance for any help. Bob

Hi Everyone, I recently purchased my first trials bike. It is a 1995 Beta Techno 250. I was curious about how the fan is supposed to behave. When the fan turns on, it currently varies speed based on the engine RPM. Is that the expected behavior or should it be a single regulated speed? Thanks.

I need a piston and seal kit for my rear brake caliper and I have not been able to locate. Is there a replacement caliper from something else that would interchange? i ant to ride my bike again.

I have a problem with the gear shifter. When I shift up, it stalls and the shifter gets stuck up and doesn't go down, but from up to down it goes easily. What could be the problem?

Can anyone confirm for me that the four bushes that the swingarm rides on (the black bushings that fit into the swingarm, that the bearings ride on) are all identical? They look the same to me, but when I mount the swingarm back up, I have a pretty big gap visible between the bushing and the swingarm. I gather this is normal, but it seems like a pretty big gap for dirt to get into.

As the hose at work is out of action I haven't been able to wash the bike today so am working from memory a bit. I think all the screws on the casing can be removed but, as I want to renew the pump bearings, has anyone managed to remove the casing without dropping the sump guard - can it be wiggled past the rubber protection sandwiched between crankcase and sumpguard? As the guard is now a lot more bent than it was when I last removed it I anticipate even more of a battle to get it back in position. Thanks

Hi, have an issue with my sons Beta 80 fan not running, I’m a bit of an novice when it comes to electrics but am I right in thinking that if I connect the 2 wires in the multi plug from the fan to a 12 volt battery one to positive and one to negative obviously, the fan should spin up.

  16. I thought that by replacing the water pump shaft / seals etc on my Techno all the water in oil issues would disappear for a while. When I got the bike the oil was pretty horrible so I duly changed everything and after 5 flushes all was good...until yesterday. Up until now I've been out in pretty dry weather or just damp ground but yesterday I rode through some half wheel depth puddles a few times and when I checked the oil later it was grey again! The crankcase breather pipe looks like it's been cut for some reason (5" long) and was lying in a mostly horizontal position pointing towards the rear wheel and slightly to the side of the small mudguard / water & crud …

Hi. New to this forum. Been looking around a bit, and found a lot of useful information. I just bought me my first trials bike. A 1999 Beta Techno 270. It had some issues like broken clutch plate, leaking oil seal on cranc and some more. I guess a lack of love for some years. The chain tensioner was gone and the chain has Been cut so it is too tight. So I wonder hos many links it should have with original sprockets? And by the way, if my english is bad, I'm excused because I'm norwegian:) Thanks Henning

As the subject line says, I have a new-to-me 2014 250 Factory and the lights don't work. First place I looked to find the cause was at the light switch and found that one wire was cut off the switch and neatly tucked back into the sheathing tube. Any idea why? I re-soldered the wire to the switch and still no lights. I'm most interested in finding the reason the wire was cut which may lead to a resolution of the lights not working. Previous owner has no idea.

Hi all, Wonder if any of you knowledgeable folk have any suggestions. Kiddo ride a Beta 80 Junior but not attempting larger object is smashing up/bending the chain tension bracket arm every weekend. Aside from getting onto a bigger bike and holding back from the big stuff, would any of you have any suggestions as to how to preserve it? Thanks in advance
