ACU Discussion

I've checked the ACU site and I've probably missed it completely but does anyone know how to report an injury during a trial? Do I just inform the club that its actually worse than it appeared at the trial or contact the ACU direct? Cheers

Not wanting to steal anybodies thunder but this Saturday is the British Championship organisers/riders etc forum in rugby to discuss this years championship and review last years. Having attended last year I found this an informative day with sensible discussion. I guess riders and importers have been contacted and views requested but as C of C for one of the rounds was wondering if anybody had any burning issue that they feel we as organisers should look to address in 2008 (trying to avoid the what rules debate etc).

Hello all Just a thought about marking out really with the traditional Red on you right blue on your left and green and yellow flags. I’ve always found this odd when FIM sections are so much easier to read being one colour for your route arrowed to go between them and even have a no entry ⛔️ on the back. I ride clubman and 50/50 so have to change between red/blue green/yellow if required mid route which makes it even more difficult to get it right. As for using yellow and green flags so many people find it hard to see these colours on the ground blending into it. so is it not easier to change to FIM type marking being a white square with a c…

This weekend - 17/7/11 - only 6 riders on the Championship course, 8 on the Expert course and 39 starters on the Clubman (Exp B ) course. . Is it about time the championship was put back on to a National courses? 1 lap x 40+ sections. No practice lap. No Minders. Only one chance to ride the section. What do you think? Would your Club be prepared to run a British Solo Championship within your National? If so go to your Centre meetings and get a proposal to the Trials & Enduro Committee. Forget about the Youth class they have their own Championship.

hi there, i was filling out my registration form and it says youth a,b,c,d at the moment i am classed as a youth a and i would have to ride a 125cc but in a few months time i am 17 so does this mean that i can ride 250 and above? and it also says that for persons that are 16 and above are classed as adults so does this mean i could ride a 250cc now or not?i am only planning on riding clubman trials if this helps. thanks.

So I turned up to this event today, only to be told the trial was last week (aparently it was really good) ... a little while ago there was another trial that appeared on the list for a couple of weeks and then disappeared the day before ... I can understand how difficult it is to co-ordinate the ACU events list, but is this a common problem? Is there anywhere alse I can check for cross-club events in the UK?

Hello All in UK Don't really know where to post but assumed that some gasgas rider would know. Last rode trials in 2002.. instantly stopped due to injury.. about to start again. What's the current postion regarding trials licence. As just giving it a try for a couple of trials to see if injury now OK. Can you get day membership of ACU for riding a single trial. Don't mind paying club membership fee but not too keen on paying for a licence I may only use once or twice. Thanks

On reading the CLASS ENTERED section for the tradional championship ( the regulations say the same) . It states if you enter ,for instance.... class E 'Machines not in class A ( pre 75)...class B (twinshock)or class C ( aircooled) ridden by rider over 50'. Now the classes A,E and F on some rounds get an easier route ( which is a good idea), if you are an over 50 rider riding say, a twinshock, does the wording above mean you cannot enter the twinshock in class E OVER 50. hope it makes sence??

I applied for a competition licence to compete in Baja events in the UAE, as I have an ACU Trials Competition Licence the ATCUAE required a rider release letter from the ACU. I e-mailed the licence department in Rugby and got the necessary letter within hours. People are always quick to have a go at the ACU so its only fair that they deserve credit for giving such a good service to a member. On another note the cost of a ACU trials licence is a great dealer cheaper than a ATCUAE one. So well done the ACU.

I noticed when reading the minutes of an ACU board meeting that an official preparing an Enduro in the Langdale forest received a "Section 59" Notice. Now they were there operating under an ACU licence which I presume means they were also there with the Co-Operation of the land owners. the Incident is discribed thus. Langdale Forest Incident Mr Willoughby had reported on a recent incident that had taken place regarding a Work Party of six riders on bikes in the Langdale Forest preparing a course for an Enduro event. are the acu anything to do with the dvla.

The ACU have updated the website, however on the old one you could see the upto date Trials Championship tables i.e. BTC, Novagar, Traditional etc. I can no longer find them, nor the list of rounds. Is it me? Anyone point me in the right direction.

hi, Completely new to trials and yet to join a club but id like to know if I can join more than one club? Im based in the UK and in Cumbria there is more than one club and id like to enter competitions in various clubs but the ACU membership asks for 'club riding for' , so do I have to a main club and then have others as secondaries or can I just do as I please and join them all and leave this blank? many thanks. Our club has recently been given permission to use a brand new venue to stage a trial. New venue, new sections. That doesn't happen very oftenthese days. What's more, it has a club house and a large carpark and the course can be a mile or more round each lap. We needed to impress the owner. We would like to go there again. With this in mind, I held a briefing in the club house prior to any bikes being ridden. I explained that we needed to be on our best behaviour etc. It poured down. Three of the sections deteriorated a little and became very muddy, but overall things went very well. Until, that is I returned to the carpark to find a rider pressure washing his bike. …

What a pleasant suprise to find the new look ACU SportMoto magazine waiting in the letter box today. The new size and the superbly written articles combine to make a magazine that really is worth having. I have to admit that I was not a fan of the old magazine and considered it to be a waste of licence/affiliation payers money, but this is good. Well done ACU. One small point for the next issue..... don't spoil it with too many pictures of JP

Entered a trial via the ACU portal. Now, at least a week later it says that my entry is not valid, due to my not having a rider number. Never been asked for this before. Spent ages on the website, trying to discover how to do this, but with no luck. Anyone know how to do this?

My sons birthday is 24/04/96 , to save you doing the math he will be 16 in April. Would he be able to ride as an adult when he turns 16 and would he just get his license changed from Youth A to an Adult? Or are you a youth till the year ends of the year you turn 17.

Hi there, i'm rather confused with the acu licence form, what boxes do i need to tick for trials registration, i was a member about 2 years back, and now just getting back into trials and i remember it was about 30 pounds, has it gone up? Much Appriciated Reguards Richard

When I started out all ACU licenses were done on the same form and up until quite recently this was still the case. Now the trials registration has been separated completely from the rest of the form. So my question is do I need both? When it was all on the one form you applied and paid for the highest level/most expensive license and that granted you any open licenses of a lower level. I have a road race national/international B that allowed me to get a motorcross novice, grass track etc and a trials license. Does the old system still apply? Would my road race license cover me for trials or do I have to buy a trials registration separately? If I have to do them separ…
