Hi, has anybody gone to the trouble of replacing the silent bloc swingarm bushes on an 81 TLNW320 with needle rollers or some other alternative ? I'm building a 'Bitsa' using a TL frame and swinger and just wondered if anybody might have done such and would be willing to share their experiences ? Thanks up front, Phil

Hi all I am thinking of moving my condensor to up by the coil under the tank, and while I am at it put a second one there. Can anyone suggest a type of condensor they have used which has worked OK and where to get it? Looking around there are lots of different types from various bikes. I was thinking one with a bracket to make it easy to mount, is there a specific specification I should look for? Mr. Nolan has lent me one with .59 Italy 10F stamped on it Mick

I want to fit a Honda CRF clutch perch with the quick adjuster (hot start may double as my decompressor?) they also have a good action too....saw one on a Beamish at a trial and thought good idea but... My clutch cable has the smaller end nipple, is it possible to get 'convertor' to go to the more normal larger size? Many thanks

I understand that on the later Jumbo's the steering head was steeper. Can anyone tell me how much steeper this was than the earlier frames and also how close was this to the current modern bikes? Thanks

Hi all I have 2 TL320´s that are both leaking oil from the kickstart shaft / gear change shaft. They both have had the seals changed and the Oring for the gear lever changed. Sometimes they drip a lot from the gear change shaft and sometimes a bit from the kick start shaft. Other days they don´t leak at all. If the bikes lean away fromthe shat´s they usually stay dry (shame that the side stand is on this side). Any tips welcome !

I’ve finally found the time to start working on the SWM 350 Jumbo I picked up last spring. The previous owner had installed an electronic ignition that failed on him, so he reverted back to the stock point ignition. I reached out to the manufacturer (Rex’s Speed Shop in the UK), sent them the unit for testing, and, sure enough, the electronic ignition module was dead (which, according to them, never happens!!!). I got a replacement ($$), installed it, and got it all set up. The installation is pretty straightforward—you just need the right flywheel puller (which, of course, I didn’t have! 😒). Next, I replaced the rear shocks. The bike had aftermarket Works Perfo…

I recently acquired a 350 jumbo in very nice shape. It has been ridden quite a bit, so I took the top end apart. The piston and cylinder look amazingly good (I did measure with my gages and the cylinder is still within spec. for a cylinder of this size). But, the end ring gaps are about 20 -22 thou. I'm getting the piston coated with an abrasive powder coating product that they use in very high performance/horsepower engines. been doing this to all my bikes for 10 years and have had amazing results. So, does anyone know if OEM standard,1st or 2nd over piston rings are available? They would be an 82.0mm, 82.25mm or 82.50 mm... as needed, I'd file down to fit. From w…

Hello I hads some problems getting the front axle off my SWM TL.NW. I just wanted to inspect the front brake as I want to ho to the alpes with the bike and when going downhill good brakes are a must. I could not get out the axle as the speedo drive did not move anywhere, all bolts and nuts where removed! It ended like this that I jacked up the bike really high and pulled the hole front end out (with the stanchions!). This worked very well and I could dismantle the front rear. But agian did not had any possibilitiy to remove the speedo drive, I discoverd (I could not measure that the axle has a notch! and the speedo sits in this notch, so the axle must be made out of …

I have had a little extra time lately and been finishing up some projects. I’ve had a 1980 SWM TL320 basket case for a few years now. The engine is done with all new bearings, seals and a lot of other new parts. I’m in the process of putting the engine back in and I’m having trouble getting the swingarm to fit. I did install new swingarm bushings. Any tricks or advice on getting it to fit? I didn’t work on it for too long today and I have to go into work tomorrow but should be back on it Thursday. I also have a new seat cover to install and could use some advice putting that on. What glue do you use and and tricks stretching on the seat base? Thanks
