SWM

After moving the pegs down and back, the next hurdle was the brake pedal. It was quite a mind boggle to fabricate a lever that could be covered whilst still being planted on the footpeg. What made ir even more of a challange was the lack of space available due to having a swingarm from a TX 300 Aprilia fitted. Anyway, after a few tries and mods it now works 'Like' the original and I'm happy.

Hello people, can anyone help me locate a kick start lever to suit the knuckle that uses a circlip, it's for a Jumbo but I think any kick start lever for a TL trials bike will fit. Cheers. PS: I've attempted to ask in "classifieds" but I don't get any options to let me write a wanted post, in fact I get no options at all. Any clues as to what is happening there ?

How many clutch plates are there meant to be in a 125 . I have five plates looks to be enough space for another plate ?

I got into vintage trials a few years ago, I always wanted a SWM! When I was a kid SWM trials where the bike to have! I didn't have one then but almost 40 years later I finally bought one! I really like them! They handle great and the brakes even work! I enjoy them as much as the modern trials bikes I had! I actually ended up with four over the summer, (sold the 240 to a friend of mine). I have a 1980 TL320 that's my main bike, I bought from the top rider from our club, he also won the AMA National twin shock series in 2013 on the same bike! Could someone please tell me what this thread size should be, my Jumbo currently has an unsightly M12 x 1.5 hex head bolt and nut fitted which will only screw in about 10 mm before it meets resistance. It's been messed up by a previous owner as the thread in the head looks awful, I would just like to return the thread to what it was originally either by re-tapping or helicoiling and then fitting a suitable socket head bolt to block it off. Anybody with a Jumbo when your next playing around with it in the shed, could you take some rough measurements for me please. Mainly the rear axle spacer #17 as per below pic, mine measures 32 mm, I'm trying to determine why my left rear shock splays out slightly towards the bottom shock mount whilst the right appears near perpendicular, also when I measure the shocks from centre to centre across the top mounts I get 233 mm but at the bottom I get 245 mm so definitely some 10 - 12 mm of splaying but I don't know if this is normal for a Jumbo. If it is normal, like a Cota 349/4 for instance, I'm curious why the left shock seems to be doing all the splaying ?

After looking around for a good while for a replacement exhaust manifold for my 81 TL320NW, I found that most of what was on offer was in worse condition to the one I wanted to replace. Then a notification popped up on FB for some new stainless ones on offer. I ordered one, it arrived yesterday, I fitted it today, perfect.

My betor forks are making a loud bang when lifting the front end . I have stripped the forks down and see no problem any help would be appreciated

AS clutches are a major talking point on the Forum, AND i was a bit bored last night !!.. thought i'd do some measurements of the Clutch lever actuation while my 320 is stripped down. ( Excuse the slightly blurred pics and the Dirt in the casings !!.) These are just for Information , as I'd not seen these measurements stated (So hope this helps anyone in some way ) .. And they're from a pretty worn engine, but I expect them to be reasonably accurate. (is that enough disclaimers !!)

Well, Speedy has gone off to pastures new. I'd like to thank all on here whom have helped in the past when I've had queries or needed helped, when I was but a rookie SWM owner and not the Uber Anorak Owner I later became. Martin at Moto SWM needs thanking too, like Dave at BikeTech GasGas it's great when someones business is also their passion. Hi guys Hope someone can help us out with our newly acquired Speedy TL 320. There's a bolt plus a hex stud and after loosening said nut a little it seems not to want to tighten back in. The oil has been drained through hex stud and any recommendations for best oil and correct amount would also be appreciated. Photos below and thanks very much in anticipation for any info Cheers Zeb

To lower and move back the footpegs on a TL 320 seems to be the most done mod. What I've not seen is what mods have been done to the rear brake lever to be able to cover it while riding and standing on the pegs. Any pics of the mods made would be appreciated. I am going to try and get a lever made that will still use the original cable. I have a template made but need to get it fabricated if it is at all possible. It is a really wierd looking thing to say the least.

Any SWM / Rotax engine aficianados out there for some advice? I've recently acquired a very clean SWM 320TL which I suspect has had an easy life. The previous owner told me on collection that he thought it had picked up some sediment in the carb' having been sat for a couple of years, and I'd need to give it a good clean. I briefly ran it, and he was right, it was displaying the classic signs of a gummy carb and blocked pilot jet... it wouldn't run at low revs, needing choke to keep it alive as they dropped, though was okay at larger throttle openings. So, I fitted a new pilot jet, (a size 60, though I know some folk say a 65 is best) and cleaned the carb' including…
