The forum on the Trials Canada has been closed. One of the issues on that forum was that every time a person wanted to talk about anything trials in Canada it quickly became a debate about the Pros and Cons of the different organizations. In attempt to put an end to that I am suggesting we use this thread for such discussion and can simply refer to it instead of having the same arguments in every new thread opened. We will need to police this ourselves but I suggest when ever a person feels the urge to slam or promote a trials organization we can refer them to do it in this thread. People who would rather not partake in the discussion can avoid it. I also suggest we k…

Long expected, this is the first time I've seen anything published from MCC that they are officially seeking to be FIM's Associate Member for Canada. http://www.motorcycling.ca/competition/mcc-seeks-fim-affiliation/ With CMA sanctioning only a small minority of motorcycling competitions across Canada it certainly would not be surprising to see them finally lose their FIM Affiliation.

For those people not familiar with what is happening in Canada -sometimes referred to as "The Great White North" this past couple of years has seen a new organizing body emerge, called the WEC - this stands for World Enduro Canada, and it was formed as an alternative to the CMA or Canadian Motorcycle association. - Almost out of the box - the new group were outstandingly successful, the Enduro riders loved the enthusiasm and expertise of the WEC, who scheduled a true National Series across this great Country. It should be noted that the guys who head up the WEC are Out and Out enthusiasts, they do however have business savvy, and a big Ace in the hole, with a link to a l…

So here I was sitting in the backyard - in my shorts - also into a cool one , and I suddenly thought about poor old Taff in Alberta - What a shame here we are, flowers blooming, grass is green and we are out riding every Sunday, but only 9hrs away, Taff will be using 4wd just to get home on the Highway. Now there is that saying in Calgary, that you only have to wait an hour for the weather to change, but the poor sods in Edmonton have had winter since last October. - No wonder all the houses in the OK Valley are being bought up by Albertans. - Did I mention I was also having a beer??

School girls in Canada at war over control of non existing, flailing sport. Little brats sporting banners of WEC and CMA rip sport apart and show their ugly colors. Web site used to blow sunshine and push wares, hurl nasty comments at the opposite side and hide behind the muse of informative site. Older girls prancing around pretending to be ambassadors are seen by many to be putting the final cut in a dying breed. Those who oppose the large commander are banned and shunned, why it

Watching the video on the last post made me wonder. What happened to the Terra Nova. My Dad rode the event several times (I think he went for the beer) and I rode it once with my brother. If I remeber correctly it was basicly an enduro on Vancover Island. The event was always on your Thanksgiving. It was about 90 miles each way and started from your property (do you still have the property?). The event was more like one long section. It was very tough. I think I rode the event in around 1984. I know I did not win and was very tired after the first day. But it was the most amazing ride I have ever ridden.

As per the press release posted by the CMA, our National Sanctioning body, this years Canadian Trials Championships have been awarded to Saskatchewan and the FLTA and will be held Aug 20/21 in the small town of Bengough. It is going to be a very unique event and one that should not be missed by riders in Canada who want to experience that " European" feel without leaving the country! The entire town of Bengough will act as host to this event with many activities and festivities planned, including beer gardens for spectators, and a dinner planned for riders and workers. It's a significant event as it also celebrates the 67th running of this prestigious Championship…

  15. Hi Rabie, I believe your ACU is similar to our CMA as it is the only FIM affiliated organization in the country and covers a wide variety of motorcycle sports. The CMA requires riders to pay $80 to join plus the entry fees to each of their events. The closest event they put on is about 2,000km away. We also have a National group that does not have FIM affiliation but provides the same insurance coverage and its own rule book but it is all free thanks to its sponsors. Some feel putting on events for free is undermining the sport and all things FIM but we have been actually very good at collecting money to support our FIM TdN team directly instead of paying it to the CMA …

  18. The Joss Mountain ride took place last Sunday August 26th - We had a total of 15 riders, including two former three time Canadian Trials Champions - Stan Bakgaard and Steve Fracy. The Mountain is 7825ft at the Summit and unfortunately we ran into snow - This was the 4th and (maybe) last time for Outlaw Dave to make this difficult trek - it's like a long 35km section to the top. The pics (91) can be seen by clicking onto www,outlawtrials.com then gallery p2. - they are a bit jumbled up as they were taken by four different camera people - I'm the old guy with the banana and a beer at the top.

Is there anyone out there that would support the return of a true and balanced Canadian National trials series with the result being Canada sending it's best to the TDN? The rules seem a little cloudy on the subject of team selection but with some lobby work to the CMA (or MMC if they ever get FIM sanctioning) I would like to see if we could make this a reality. This is not meant to start forum for people to vent their spleens at the CMA; but rather to see if people want to see us move forward. Spencer Fitschen
