Hi everybody, I am from Turkiye and I am a noob here. Last year I found a badly beaten Fantic and just started to rebuilding it. In my search I have learned that the bike is 305 but unfortunately I could not find technical documents for the model. First of all, I would be grateful if you guys address me some links for technical data. Plus, I need to hear what oil I should use for the motor? And what amount? As I go deeper with the work, I may ask more stupid questions. Thanks in advance for all the inputs! Photos here (You may give me ideas and tips):

Morning all.. Ive bought a fantic 240 with a 245 engine in it.. Its a tidy job, but the engine doesn't run as crisply from the bottom and I suspect its down to the sh...y oko carb on it. Ive had an oko on my other 240 and never had much success with it so went back to a new dellorto, 100% better.. Any suggestions as to what to try.. Do I go back to the proper dellorto for that engine (PHBH26?) What exactly is the correct carb for it? There are so many slighty different versions of the 26 carb? Or do I go down the keihin route? Thanks

Hi all, I own a gas gas txt pro but am looking at a fantic 200 so I can do trials with the local club............... ................ basically, is the 1981 200 a good bike and is it a good twin shock for someone that has only been riding (or attempting to) ride trials since latter end of last year? I havent seen the bike yet, but it belongs to one of the club organisers, has had an engine rebuild and has not been 'restored' thanks Andrew

Hi there, can anyone give me a base line jetting for a Fantic 307 at sea level? Full story: I've just gotten my first trials bike, a Fantic 307. It starts but it runs very irregularly, won't idle properly and finally bogs down. Compression gets up to 11 bar in 304 kicks, so that seems solid. Reed valves and intake boots look OK. I've changed the spark plug (the old one was at 0.4mm gap..?), the air filter and the air box cover rubbers. Carb and jets looked clean enough, but it's time to have a second look at the carb. I suspect the float level is all over the place. The jetting seems weird as well, so I'd like to restore everything to stock.

Any info appreciated, I have a Fantic 200 which is running rich, I have had the carb/jets (del 25ml) cleaned, rebuilt the carb and fired it back on, I adjusted mix and idle screws to what sounded right, so off I went to a trial and all felt ok, as the trial whent on the running got worse and worse, it was not crisp at bottom of rev range and sounded like it was running with choke on as I moved from section to section, when I got her home I checked the plug which was new at start of the day and it was very sooty bike also used far more fuel than normal. Jets are as 200 manual reccomended. So any info on jets and settings would be much appreciated. Cheers Andy.

Anyone know where to find the model number, FM364, on a 303 Fantic. On the frame, engine or both? I'm assuming it would definitely be on the engine somehwere?

My 200 has started running very rich, so much so that the plug needs changing every 15 sections as the bike becomes unrideable. th eplug is dry with heavy black deposits. after Sundays trial i whipped the carb off and the airbox side was sodden in fuel and the rubber from airbox to carb was equally as wet with fuel and oil. having stripped and cleaned the carb,, spotless as you ask, the only issues i can see are that the floats are twisted and much more than the Dellorto recomended 24 mm. so i ve 'manipulated' them level and they are now 24mm when closed. i assumed though that as the distance was greater then 24mm then the needle would close sooner and if anything the t…

Hi folks, I have never owned or ridden a Fantic. I am looking at a 1982 Fantic 200 that's in good condition. I compete in Vintage Trials on a Penton Mudlark that I've put a lot of work in to, to make it competitive. I would like to know what you folks think of the 200 and how it compares with other brands and models such as the TY, SWM, Can Am, RL, Montesa, Bultaco, Reflex and other brands and models from the same era. I have been told the Fantic was like an MX bike turned in to a Trials bike, but would like to read your opinions of this model and how it preforms in the sections. Thanks in advance for any advice and opinions you can provide.

Just to give another opinion on the ebay stuff. 1.) I spotted a "running" 200 on ebay here in germany. As I always do I asked some questions via mail and offered the guy around 300 euros which is about 200 uk pounds or 250 dollars if he offered it as a buy it now! The guy agreed by mail and i drove the 200 miles to have a look. What a mess, welded gear lever. Exhaust pipe welded to silencer, silencer welded onto frame, kick start welded, chrank cases welded underneath and somebody had cut through one of the frame tubes with a hacksaw for some reason. Strange. Felling a bit P?/ssed at traveling 200 miles i told the guy that he had a pile of cr%p and didnt want to insult h…

I'm new to trials and am looking for a "starter" bike. A dealer who specializes in Trials bikes has a 1990 Fantic 250. Price is @ $1500US. He backs all his used bikes and rates this one as "7.75 Mechanical". I'm inclined to purchase from a dealer - especially a one specializing in trials bikes - rather than from an individual. How does this model stack up as a decent starter bike? What about parts availability? Any "issues" to watch for? The dealer thought that given my budget, size (big), and trials experience (zero!), he thought this bike would be a good one to choose. Comments?

Ok, here's the problem. I have a nice tidy fantic 200 which I bought from the twinshock shop a few weeks ago. I have been going through sorting a few things out, tightening spokes, air filter, gear lever and silencer to front pipe seal. Nothing serious, just a few bits and bobs and the bike was running really nicely. With the bike being a few years old, and the silencer showing no signs of ever having been opened to repack, I thought it would be a sensible move. I cut out a section from the inside of the can, cleaned it all out and repacked with silent sport loose packing. Not too tight but enough so I could lay the cut section of can on top of the glass and it w…

Hi ok i know there wasn't a 200 pro but a 125 but my question is, putting a 156 cylinder on a 125 bottom end do the 125 gear ratios make much of a difference to be noticable compared to a 200 gear ratios

Hello everyone, I'm the proud new owner of a Fantic 200. I've read all the previous posts and I need help troubleshooting both the LT Stator and HT Coil. I've followed Lee's advice regarding resistance measurements. I've measured the resistance between the black earth terminal and the green trigger terminal and I have an acceptable reading of 42 Ohms. When I check the resistance of the red to black terminals I get a reading of 692 Ohms. If you are out there Lee, I could really use some help. If anyone can help me identify the problem or further troubleshoot the Stator and HT Coil, I'd be forever greatful. All the best, Carl

I am going insane! I just took apart my carb for the 5000 th time, because I am having real problems starting the bike after a rebuild. Would you believe it, noticed on the side it is Dellorto PHBL 26 and not 25 as stated in the manual. Took the digital calipers to it, in case it was my eyesight and it is 26mm intake. My question is, will this make a massive amount of difference and is this the source of all my woes. Please help, someone please. The men in the white coats are coming.
