I've just bought a 1990 240 climber. The previous owner had a "throttle stuck open" moment before a tumble. He can't recall hooking the cable,is this a fault with a secondhand model? I'd also like to obtain a manual and spares in UK,is there a good dealer for these older bikes? Thanks

Hi all, I have aquired a 280 Climber which is now running but quite unstable at tick over and just above. I have found that the PHBH26CS carb which is the air screw version (not the petrol adjustment screw type) seems to be missing one of the jets. The Pilot jet is I think made up of 2 jets one is deep down and a sort of atomizing jet or idle imulsion tube as its´s listed (which is marked with 68) and there should be an idle jet "deep" sitting in front of this but it´s missing. Can anyone help with the size needed ?

Hi guys! Can anyone confirm whether this is actually the 2018 model? (LINK) My friend says its not but the sales representative claims that it is. I've been burned before and I want to take all precautions before going any further with this dealer. Thanks and happy riding!

Hi all, I have goten hold of a 93 Climber that was a non runner when bought. The seller had changed the electronic ignition box last year before putting it away (he said it ran then). He couldn´t start it this year and then the kickstarter snapped. I now have a spare kickstart fitted and got the bike running (rough with it missing beats at tickover). I cleaned the rotor and pickups etc. with brake cleaner and disconnected the handelbar switch after that it ran better but when moving the wires that come through under the tank it seemed to have a problem. I now have the earth cut off after the connector and have run a wire up to a kill button. She now want´s to st…

Hi all I have two Climber 240 (91 and 92) in Japan. I am in the middle of my change the front fork oil project. I have some questions. 1. Oil level measurement (mm?) from the top of fork edge? 2. How much does each fork needs the oil (Aprilia manufacturer’s recommended ) 3. Recommended degree of viscosity. (or fork oil model number・part number) I don’t have a service manual of Climber... regards, Teru

Hi all, I recently picked up an old '94 Climber 280 for pretty cheap. As such, it's needed a fair amount of work. As you all already know, information on these bikes seems to be pretty scarce. I just finished rebuilding the forks, but I am unsure as to how much fork oil to refill them with; any recommendations? Also, I heard that 5-7.5W is probably correct; does that sound right? If anyone has a good line on where to buy parts for these bikes, I would really appreciate it. I made an air filter and rear brake clevis, but would rather buy the correct parts. Thanks, Nick

Hi, I've recently acquired a 1994 Aprilia Climber 280 but I'm having a hard time trying to find parts & a workshop manual for it. I currently need a new clutch master cylinder as the old Grimeca one has seized but I can't find an alternative anywhere? I also need to know where to drain & fill both the engine & transmission oils (I've been told the transmission oil has been drained).

Hi, I have an aprilia TX 300 with the engine block (crankcase and clutch) of an aprilia climber. Bring the original air-cooled cylinder. I would like to leave the clutch softer and I am looking for some docks to make it softer. Being a rotax engine may be worth the other models. Can someone help me? I will be very grateful. Thank you very much. Narciso
