If anyone has done an air shock upgrade on a 16 Oset, could you please post details/pics of the shock and modification needed? Trying to shave a bit more weight off the bike for my daughter. Also, if anyone knows how to soften up the fork that would be useful too. Much obliged

Please excuse my english - I am from Austria. Since yesterday my 6 year old son is the proud owner of a OSET 16.0. But I am a bit confused about the charging instructions. The english manual states the following: "Always connect the charger to the AC power source before connecting the charger to the bike" "Always disconnect the charger from the bike before disconnecting the charger from the AC power source" My "german" manual tells me the exact opposite: "Always connect the charger to the bike before connecting the charger to the AC power source" "Always disconnect the charger from the AC power source before disconnecting the charger from the bike" Question: What…

Today we had one of the first part failures on our well used 36v 16. One of the pins of the masterlink sheared off. Over the last two years, the chain has derailed a few times, so it's tough to tell if it failed on its own or if it was pinched btwn one of the sprockets and the swingarm. Regardless, I need to get a replacement masterlink or maybe an entire chain, which I hope to get locally. Does anyone know the size of the chain, and if it is likely to be found at a bicycle shop? Thanks, Pete

Gavin has a 12.5 OSET. He loves riding it..but sometimes loses intrest in doing circles in the street.. It gets dark before he gets home from daycare, so I can't take him to the park. I have a 1000 watt light that lights up the front so he can ride.. To make it interesting, I have this little peice of wood that let him ride up and down the curb. I have also found that drawing a chalk "racecourse" on the street is fun.. So I was at HomeDepot today and I got this idea... $7.15 worth of lumber.. 2x4 cut in half.. Shave the ends.. 1x4 cut in 16" lengths.. A nail gun..and ta da!!! New ramp for the kids!! Works on curbs too :fact I'll post up how h…

The Yeadon Guiseley club will for the first time be setting out a seperate E class route, along side their usual conducted course at Addingham Moorside tomorrow. The route will be suitable for both 12.5" & 16" bikes. More confident E class riders can still follow the normal small wheels course. The conducted trial starts at 2pm.

Hi, just tried to connect an oset lanyard to my son 16”. I tried a petrol bike one and that was working backwards, so changed it for a Oset one. now, when I connect it it does not work at all, why is that? What I did was removing the key switch which was not needed and connected the two wires straight into the lanyard wires. shoulnt the oset lanyard close a circuit between the two wires when it’s clipped on? what am I missing? the bike is an older model equipped with Kelly controller and OEM throttle

Hi guys, Instead of mounting Shinko 241 19x3.5 tire, I really would like to convert rear tire to 18", it will allow me to find better options for rear tires. I'm aware of rear wheel conversion kit, but it is 17" and selection of tires is very limited, on top of that OSET doesn't have them in stock. Here is what I found on US Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/WM1-1-60-X-17-36-hole-Akront-Italian-style-flanged-alloy-vintage-motorcycle-rim/164154392242?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D225074%26meid%3Dd1673bbf4ee14b7aabf24322216eb53d%26pid%3D100167%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D163655745238%26itm%3D164154392242%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1…

A wee Oset story. My 11 year old moved up to a Beta 80 at Christmas so the Oset 20r was def surplus. He'd been on a borrowed ty 80 lately as a stopgap the last few months and how can I say ruined it and I had to return it to a friend (probably ex) Anyway first club trial I really fancied my chances against junior on the wee Oset. Now bearing in mind I don't think he ever finished a Trial on the Oset as it's on lead acids I thought my 40 years experience would offset the disadvantage of my 12.5 stone. All went well matching him mark for mark until a small hillclimb, no way I had to ride it like a caterpiller on steroids just to keep moving. S…

Hi all just after some advice. My 3 year old has a bog standard oset 12.5. He's doing really well and enjoying it at a steady pace. However when he sets off it is so snappy and kind of jolts him. Is this normal? Or is there anything we can do to kind of smooth the power out?

Hi All, New here so first of all Hi! I'm into DH and Enduro MTB so know very little about trials so please be gentle. I've just picked up well used MY15 20R which needs a bit of TLC but at least most of the bits are cycle parts so easy to work on. On my list of things to do is bearings, replacing with some good quality SKF or Enduro. After much googling and an e-mail to Oset who haven't replied yet, I've drawn a blank as to sizes - found some info but it's conflicting. I'd rather know sizes before I start replacing to minimise new toy out of service so if anyone can remember what sizes the various bearings are: wheel, swing arm, motor, etc. that wo…

Hello - I just purchased a new OSET 12.5 for my nearly 4 yo son (and apparently just under the wire - as the website no longer sells the 12.5). I was wondering what kind of grips to purchase, what size and how to install them. My son's hands are kind of small and reaching brake levers has always been difficult. I would appreciate any info that you folks can pass on . Thanks! dylandog

Hi folks, bit of a random one here. Running an old 16 24v but using a 36v Boost battery and it was working great until the chain broke. The chain jammed and the motor made a clicking noise when then it jammed. Once cleared, the front sprocket looked like it ran perfectly. Stuck on a new chain but once any weight is added to the bike, it accelerates much slower than previously but has the same top speed (once it finally gets there). Any thoughts would be appreciated....the motor is the old 24v 500w motor, could it just be done???

Hi all. Playing with an idea at the moment, and hoping for a little advice. I think @gwhy may be the man. If possible I'd like to remove the 3 power dials and replace with a simple bar mounted switch and reduce it to 2 power modes. Sort of high/low torque. Does anybody know if this would be possible. And a follow up, I'd like an handlebar mounted battery monitor/SOC read out. Any ideas?. Thanks guys.

My sons oset just stopped moving all of a sudden. All lights are on the handlebars, but it just isn't moving. I've checked the wires and they all seem to be connected properly.. do i suspect the worst in that the motor is broken or could it be something simple?

I have just picked up a used Oset and notice the motor says 900w which appears is the same as the 20 lite. Are these out of the factory like this or could it be a upgrade? Oset spec suggests 800w is normal. Cheers

Wondering if anyone can help me. My son has had a oset 20r for a couple of years now which we got second hand, 6 months ago he has blown the motor ( Burning type smell and smoke coming from it) We have been unsure about getting it fixed because of the cost of the new motor. Would this be sellable without been repaired and anyone got any idea of price that we could sell for . It worked fine before this happened and my son has had a growth spurt so no longer any good. It also has the boost battery. Cheers
