OSET Electric Trials Bikes

Hi all. Playing with an idea at the moment, and hoping for a little advice. I think @gwhy may be the man. If possible I'd like to remove the 3 power dials and replace with a simple bar mounted switch and reduce it to 2 power modes. Sort of high/low torque. Does anybody know if this would be possible. And a follow up, I'd like an handlebar mounted battery monitor/SOC read out. Any ideas?. Thanks guys.

Just upgraded my eldest to a 16 and want to try and smooth out the power delivery on the old 12.5 for my youngest. Slower I set the speed the further the throttle has to be turned to bring the power in and the less sensitivity there is. What's the best way to improve. Kelly controller? Debating lipo for the weight savings when the batteries have had there day. Cheers lads.

The Yeadon Guiseley club will for the first time be setting out a seperate E class route, along side their usual conducted course at Addingham Moorside tomorrow. The route will be suitable for both 12.5" & 16" bikes. More confident E class riders can still follow the normal small wheels course. The conducted trial starts at 2pm.

Hi folks, bit of a random one here. Running an old 16 24v but using a 36v Boost battery and it was working great until the chain broke. The chain jammed and the motor made a clicking noise when then it jammed. Once cleared, the front sprocket looked like it ran perfectly. Stuck on a new chain but once any weight is added to the bike, it accelerates much slower than previously but has the same top speed (once it finally gets there). Any thoughts would be appreciated....the motor is the old 24v 500w motor, could it just be done???

I just got a used 20, the batteries are pretty much shot but rode it 3 times for 10 ish mins. The foot peg mounts are bending and the bolts are coming loose. Im a little over the weight limit at 240. wondering if I shouldn't just weld some on or is there another way? I have a CNC in my garage so I may try making some brackets that use all 4 mounting holes before i perm mod this thing. Also wondering what the recommended AGM batteries are. i cant spend 1k on a battery upgrade right now since I was lucky enough to find 3 used osets in the last month. Morning. Were experiancing a 30% power loss on our oset 20R across the board Id like to check the motor by powering it directly from the battery. How do we do that. There are 2 leads from the motor. Which one goes to the live which ones goes to the earth. Or if thats not how you do it, how do you check it is operating correctly. Fault. We upgraded to lithium batteries as the old lead ones had started to loose charge quickly and at that time noted the bikes top speed was around 16-17 mph and bike revved well . Hello, For those, like me, who uses the OSET 16" for full cross rather then trial... You can buy 16" cross tires from the Kuberg e cross 16". They fit perfectly. Greetings

2011 oset 16 36V it's looking like the chain is rubbing one of the motor mount bolts. Chain doesn't feel overly loose, not sure what else to check. Anyone any suggestions? Thanks.

I was hoping someone was still active on this Site and had some advice to help get my Grandsons bikes ready. The Oset website has little info and seems to be not updated. Can someone help find a online manual or print version for a 16r and 20r.? Specifically I'm looking for info regarding the three adjustments (what they control) located on the backbone of the frame. Hi, new to the forum and trials, from more an Enduro / Green laning background. Bought a 2nd hand Pre 2015 Oset 16 36v for my boys Christmas present, seems to run ok, but the part of the harness highlighted in yellow in the image is broken and not connected. It looks like an in-line fuse to me, but also looks to be in a useless loop. Could someone let me know what it is please as I likely don't have time to order a wiring harness mail order before Christmas, but could repair it. Although as stated it runs, so don't know if it's part of something else, charging maybe? I've tried looking at the wiring diagrams online, but it doesn't appear clear, at least to me. …

Should the rear wheel turn easy when free wheeling? Not sure if my young fellas bike has a binding rear brake or if it's normal

Hi, i have bought a second hand oset 16 36v spider for my daughter for Christmas. Taken her out on it and it seems really slow. On full throttle with the speed adjuster all the way up it goes walking pace. The guy I bought it from said the batteries were about 1.5 years old and it had been stood for about a year. They are lucas 12v 10ah batteries, i have tested the voltage in each battery after being fully charged and are showing to be 12.7v each. Tested the voltage just before motor on full throttle and its showing 37v. I've also taken the motor apart and tested for any signs of damage to the bearings and brushes. All seems fine. Could it be that they need new batte…

Hello! Just got a 2012/ 2013 20.0. Previous owner said the batteries are new. When I charge the bike the fan continually cycles up and down i.e. speeds then slows. Anyone know what this might mean? Seems to happen after the bike has been on the charger for 20 mins or so. I'm aware not to charege for more than 5 hours. Thank you!

Hi all, My lad has the Oset 20.0 and it needs a replacement throttle. Unfortunately I'm unable to locate a new one. There seems to be the earlier version which have two black connector's and the 2014 onwards later versions which appear to have the same connector's as the late 2013 version, although the grips are not the same colour. So can anyone tell me if these later versions will work or if there is another alternative or know of a supplier that stocks the late 2013 version. Many thanks Rob

Hi, im just wondering if its just as easy as using 2 x12v batteries and run the bike or is there any kind of low voltage protection circuit preventing this? If so, what do i need to do to fix this?

Hi all just after some advice. My 3 year old has a bog standard oset 12.5. He's doing really well and enjoying it at a steady pace. However when he sets off it is so snappy and kind of jolts him. Is this normal? Or is there anything we can do to kind of smooth the power out?
