I'm looking at these bikes used and haven't been able to find many answers about this. I see used bikes listed at around $3,500. From what little info I could find, the battery packs cost $800-1,200 and wear out in a few years. If that is true, that price isnt really a discount if the bike is a couple years old. Is that info accurate? Also is the battery pack easily swappable? Seems like that would be a nice way to keep riding vs putting it up for the day. Thanks.

Its no secret that my favourite bike is the Mecatecno Dragonfly , so when i heard a little about there being a new adult sized electric bike bearing the same name i was very interested . I fired off a message to Jordi Mila who is the owner of Mecatecno. He also has a nice collection of original Mecatecno's as well....but that is another story ...but its clear where his inspiration for the company name came from . The new Mecatecno and Jordi lives in the same town as the original founder of Mecatecno and he bares the same christian name.....anyway i digress . Jordi Mila has a design company on the same premises above the electric bikes factory where he designs all sor…

Hello proud parents. How do you teach your kid how to wheelie on an Oset? My son really wants to do them, and he practices in the driveway going over a log for countless hours, but I can't seem to explain to him the proper way to use his body motion and coordination with the throttle. I'm not talking about doing any kind of long distance wheelies, he is simply struggling with being able to lift the front on demand. Anybody willing to share their teaching aides or tricks?

I've bought my son a second hand oset 16.0 36v for Christmas. Took him out today and the chain kept jumping off. I've stripped the bike this afternoon and I believe its happening because the chain needs replacing. The chain has KMC 8F 25HA stamped on it. I also would like to fit new sprockets as they look a bit worn. The front is a 12 tooth and rear 90. Are there any opinions on the heavy duty set that oset sells for £64? Also is the 68tooth rear sprocket in the heavy duty the same diameter as the 90 tooth one it has at moment so gearing will be similar to the original? Thanks for any help / guidance Wayne

Snapped our 5th rear fender today! My boy's riding skills have really gone up so he is doing pretty amazing things on the bike now but I have had enough of buying new rear fenders! See this thread(http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/44051-oset-20-mods/), we have even tried modifying it and boiling the plastic to soften it and although it helps a lot it still snaps. Any ideas?

Had a near miss at the weekend with my 4 year old on his 12.5. He was riding down a short steep hill when the throttle has gone forward past the off stop position. The throttle then operated as full throttle and the bike took off crashing with him into a wall. Thankfully my son was fine. The oset has twisted bent forks and buckled wheel. I emailed oset uk with the details however to date no response. I would expect the default position with any failure should be to zero rather than maximum. At least with a petrol bike you have a kill switch.

Hello, I am curious about your experiences with LiPo packs. Recently my daughter moved to 16" Oset. I made 13.5A S8 LiPo pack for her 12", it was good enough for half a day riding G class competition. The main battery drop was actually happening between stages on the crossings. What is your experience with 16" Oset and LiPo-s, what amperage you have and how long and what distance it can cover?

Morning all. Went to get my boys oset 20.0 lite out of the shed yesterday, fully charged, swithched on on the handle bar, 3 lights showing on the battery gauge, and nothing. When I say nothing, you hear the relay make the click noise but when you touch the throttle there is a slight response where the wheel turns a fraction then it cuts out. Repeat process and it does it again but nothing more. It was fine when we put it away after a dry ride. Any thoughts???

HI all you Oset fans, I'm THINKING of buying an Oset for my daughter, (if I can find a used one within my budget). Of course I'm aware of all the advantages..BUT,..i have this nagging doubt that you dont get as much for your money as you could with a used petrol TXTboy50 for example?? Another concern is, if buying a used one....how long (in months/years of average use) could you expect a battery to last?..and if it needs replacing, is it very expensive, and easily available??...cant find any price for a new battery on the net. Any ideas or opinions would be gratefully received. THanks

Just got a new 36v Oset . I've been charging the batteries as directed in the owners manual but the battery life seems poor . The life just drops off the edge of a cliff after about 30 mins of general "section" riding in the local flat woodland . Strictly no wide open throttle MX riding . The battery indicators wouldn't go past the 2nd light as the performance dropped off but the bike was crawling at about 3mph . Even when the bike ground to a halt and stopped it showed 2 lights on the throttle . Our old 24v went 3-2-1 empty . Even our new 12.5 out performed the 36v by dong 2 rides on 1 charge as opposed to the 36v 1ride - 1 charge . Any clues or theories would be help…

Hi All, Anyone had this one? While riding today, bike lost power and intermittently now works. With the batteries fully charged and the throttle showing full power, the rear wheel won't spin. If I lift the rear wheel off the ground and spin it by manually it will start spinning albeit a lot slower than it should be. As soon as the throttle shut off, it won't spin up again unless I spin it manually again. It sounds like motor brushes to me, but can anyone confirm? Cheers all, Wayne.
