Gas Gas

  1. Started by AlanC,

Fan seems to be kicking in a bit more often than I remember on my bike (been a few years). Would this be a sign of a head gasket on the way out? Not boiling or emptying the rad, but the inside of the rad cap looks a bit dirty.

Hi i have a gas gas txt pro 250 09, I've just strip the bike for the frame and swimg arm to get powder coated as the frame had hardly any paint on it. The bike is all back together. (What a nightmare getting the rear brake bleed!) ?. The problem I have is the fan will not turn off when starting the bike. not sure if I've connected the right wire of the thermostat. ones wire to earth and other to the relay thing on the fan. Is that right? Or I have not bled the radiator correctly. Was all working before I strip the bike down. Any one got any tips of the trade would be appreciated thanks gary

hi all i have a 2002 txt 280 standard for about 3 weeks. Still catching up on maintenance needed, and have attacked the rear suspension tonight and have found and not to my suprise everything dry as a bone!!! I've found an adjustment setting on the bottom of the shock that had been facing the engine and i didn't know it was there until i spun it around!! and i presume that it should face to the rear for adjustment? is this the rebound? My problem is the gold annodized rocker arms!! when i've spun the shock around they have reversed from the original position i.e dog bone to swing arm connectors, does this matter? or is there only one way to install them? Sorry f…

Hi, I'm new to trials and picked up a nice JXT270. The muffler was shortened by the PO due to it being worn by the tire. What options are out there to get the OEM muffler. I was quoted $430 from Lewisportusa. Thats a bit steep. I only paid 1500 for the bike.

Quick question.. never have done fork seals on this bike, but it's leaking very bad. I have the seals. On my KTM I needed a Fork seal driver, but these zokes look a lot simpler. Am I correct in thinking the seal doesn't need a driver like the KTM WP Forks? Looks like you can simply slip it off.. Sorry for the lame question, but wanted to make sure before I tear them down.

I've was having trouble with my clutch when going very slow/stopped with the clutch disengaged or slightly dragging. Often, the point where it is slipping and engaging will be abrupt, not smooth. I was reading the sticky in the Beta forum about improving the clutch and know about the clutch basket filing method used for enduro and mx bikes. GG has a steel basket and I noticed very subtle grooves worn in the basket. The pull is as light as new and thickness is within specs. The clutch plate tabs were a bit rough, which I suppose is how they come from the factory. I did a very light filing on the basket and a super light filing on the plate tabs and the clutch abruptness we…

  16. Hi everyone, its my first post. thanks for having me as a guest. I recently bought a 1995 jt25 that seems to have lived outside unsheltered. The steering bearings are totally corroded. I cant find the standard bearing number, using the parts manual in spanish. Would anyone know the generic bearing number? Also, i'm looking for close up pictures of the kickstand maybe near a measuring tape. Is the kickstand made of aluminum for this bike? I only have a few pictures from the internet thanks jason
