Help I just got an 02 280 Pro. Handlebars were off for shipping. To a few pumps of the brake lever to get them to work however, not sure if the clutch is working. Is pull supposed to be so light? Sorry, this is my first trials bike. I can here something happening at the slave end when I pull the lever in but before I go slam it into gear with the engine running, I like to make sure it's fully disengaging. How do you bleed this system? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just received my new clutch cover and flywheel covers for the old dog, anyone know what lies in wait behind the flywheel cover when i go to change it as i've never taken that side off before. Also the clutch one i've had off before but i have a problem this time where i rounded one of the stupid little allen bolts on it any ideas on the best way to remove said bolt, cut a slot to use large screwdriver or tap a spline fitting into it for more bite?

While renewing my suspension bearing yesterday desided to adjust the spring a little but found a problem. I managed to back off the locking nut but when I tried to adjust the spring preload I found that instead of the nut turning on the thread the whole threaded piece also turned. I tried to hold it still with a stillson but it looked like it was going to crush the whole body so did pull too hard. Has anyone else found this happens and is there a solution other than replacing the whole unit?

Just been looking at the bars on Adam Raga's gasgas, do these come standard with the 04? I have also tried to find some, and I found a pair like it, but I'm unsure if they are the exact make. With the handlebars I found you must have specialised clamps for them. For an idea of what there like they do not have a crossbrace and are a black colour and of a big thickness, does anyone have these bars also?

I was having problems starting me 2001 280 recently and so serviced the carb. It was a little dirtly and had a little water in the bowl but otherwise was OK. The bike now starts but runs badly. It pinking, hunting and not ticking over very well. I think its running too rich/lean and have tried adjusting to no avail. How many turns out should the mixture be set of normal UK riding?

Does anybody know an easy way to re-fit the chain tensioner on an 03 pro. just had the suspension in bits to re grease everything, and decided to do the chain tensioner at the same time . it took longer to put the tensioner back on than it did to re grease the suspension . i must be missing somthing (i'm sure that i could find lots of people to agree with that)

i bought a 03 pro 249 recently and find the bike very manageable and i ride clubman b (read very novice ) i have fitted the slow action throttle (much to the amusement of my ridin buddies ) and it helps with the quick power , not too sure about riding in 1st gear tho ! think that depends more on the terrain than owt else , i like ; the sussies the lack of weight , the really light controls , and the looks; dont like , the way the bike looks second hand quite quick ( and yes i do look after it ). a few people i have spoke to have mentioned the 200s i would have to try one first and only beta make a full 200 all the rest are 160s an similar .

this is my first time on - so please forgive me if I screw-up! After 4 years on it I've finally decided to part with my '99 Techno 250 and fancy a new Gas-Gas Pro (having received the required sanction from her indoors - you know how it is). I've had a brief ride on a 280 and was very impressed with the handling/steering (and lack of weight!), but am not sure which engine would be best. I'm a reasonable Clubman class rider and prefer a livelier/free-revving engine (took the flywheel weight off the Beta - for me a big improvement). I'm told the 300 is "smoother" which might suit my abilities - but does that mean it's also heavier on the fly-wheel? Also told that the 249…
