I have a 2003 rev3 270 spare and would like to add a chair to it any advice welcome. Is it suitable and if so what chair and suggested price? Thanks

Good news from the Eastern Centre ACU They have agreed to run a Centre Sidecar Championship after several years of not having one. The rounds are as follows 06/04/14 Southend & District Mcc at Poles wood, Kelvedon Hatch, Essex 25/05/14 Norfolk & Suffolk Junior Mcc at The Trials Park, Corton, Suffolk 02/11/14 Norfolk & Suffolk Junior Mcc at Bakers lane pit, Westleton Suffolk Plus one more date for Southend & District Mcc. Date to be arranged! The Norfolk & Suffolk Junior Mcc will make overnight camping available at their two rounds This is Mark Kemp and Ian Allaway at the Trials Park venue last year.

Hello, My first post so please be gentle! I have a Montesa 315 in great shape and am considering having a go at sidecar trials after my new girlfriend said she would rather compete together than stand watching me go solo!! We live in North East Scotland and I cannot find a club that runs a sidecar trial -- any ideas please or even if a club allows some practise with chairs. If there is a yes answer, I then need the chair...... Gary.

My bultaco has been the base of this project and its not quite finished but here is a few pics. Thanks to paul and bultaco uk for the help I first stripped the bike to a rolling chassis. Lined the chair up and prepped for welding Took lots of measurements and got the thing ready to be welded. More pictures to follow

I made a start on my next sidecar project today. Been making the brackets and re-enforcing the front frame legs of a Beta Evo. Every thing so far is made from 3 mm flat bar. ether 30 mm or 50 mm wide. I will also be replacing the left hand foot peg hanger with one I am fabricating out of 5 mm x 50 mm flat bar. I will keep you all up to date with how things go.

silly question but a a complete novice to metal work so here goes............I am making some brackets up to fit my trials chair to a bike. what thickness of steel should I use to make the brackets? I am learning to mig weld and can just about do steel so stainless and ali are out of the question for now.

Having had a try in the chair last year I am putting an outfit together to move from solo into sidecar next year. I have managed to get a very nice rushton clair off of a club member and am planning to pair it to TYMono I have in the garage. The rear shock is shot to pieces and once the outfit was paired with two riders the bike pitched right over to the right with the inside of the mudguard on the tyre! As the replacement mono shocks for this are getting scarce I have planned to do a twinshock conversion on the TY and would appreciate advice on shocks? The main thing I assume is spring weight? Wow! took place in my first chair event a few weeks ago. Whilst waiting for my chair to be fitted to my Beamish, someone else in the club had fitted one to a TY Pinky. Neither of us had ridden sidecar before and the start was not clever or pretty but the more we rode, the more we improved and at the end I was hooked, so much that I am not sure if I want to ride or go in the chair (which was where I ended up) !!! The fact that two people now have outfits has resulted in the club having a white route sidecar class for next year where the venue suits it and we hope that more people will come on board... Sad to hear of Donald's passing. He was one of the huge influences in getting me into sidecars many moons ago. A true Yorkshire gentleman! Sid & Dick's sidecars are just a good memory now. I hope you find a good passenger where ever you are now. RIP. Trev.

Hi to all of you chair enthusiasts, I'm after some advice to get us going. I've ridden solo's to a reasonable level in the past but have been road racing for the last 20 years. For some reason my wife has desiceded that having a go a trials both solo and sidecar would be fun, (probably got something to do with me having two big crashes at the Manx Grand Prix in the last four years) we get a chair next week. I still have my old Fantic 309, my original plan was to bolt the chair onto this just to start with. However having looked round this site for a bit I am starting to realise how old it is! Sidecar trials are hard to find we have discovered. Sidecar trials for beginner are even harder! Normandy Club (part of the Thames Valley Trials Combine - TVTC) have said they will lay out a few trials catering for sidecars if they can get at least 3 outfits interested. Hi guys, My friend and I are both proficient solo riders but have always fancied a go on a sidecar. We recently purchased a 280 climber with Rushton chair to have a go. We both loved it and have begun to attempt some harder sections however, we are having problems going up small steps/logs. When we 'launch' the third wheel hits the step and throws the rig to the left. What should the passenger/rider be doing as we hit the step? I assume the passenger throws there wait behind the rider? The chair has a falcon 10" shock that is virtually rigid. I plan to send this off the falcon shortly to be serviced and maybe have a softer spring, but have been told the spring should…

Hi, newbie here ........ I've been building and evolving a Honda 125 for a year now, not for competition but for getting quietly and carefully around various farms and landscapes. As a solo it's more than proved itself, but a small chair came along and I'm here to look for advice. The bike is a CB125S frame with an XL fromt end, a CG motor and a SL tank.
