Hi all just getting around to installing the new wiseco piston I got from In Motion for my 199 they were out of single needle bearings so they sent two smaller ones that fit fine. The spacers they sent are flat on one side and sort of dished on the other. I assume the flat sides go against the piston? While trying a dry run on the fitting, I found there isn't enough room to get both spacers in.What am I doing wrong? thank you for any suggestions.

Would someone please tell me how the black and green wires going to the tail light assembly of my Model 85 are supposed to be wired? The schematic in the shop manual could easily be interpreted as those two wires being joined together in the tail light, but we know that's not right. I'm inclined to think the green wire goes to the brake light bulb and the black wire goes to the tail light bulb. True?

hi all on the 199A swing arm exhaust side how much gap between the wheel and the swing arm and exhaust should there be? mine seems pritty close tho it dosant rub on anything is this normal for the 199As? 1 thing i did do yesterday was 2 undo the middel section off the exhaust and put the spacer inbetween the brackets to push the exhaust over it was my fault i put the spacer on the wrong side been meaning to do it some time ago anyway thats all sorted know. the rear wheel is brand new bought new old stock from bultaco ages ago and had the hub relined and S/S spokes.

So , as original Mahle piston pin clips are getting a little thin on the ground at my house,have any of you guys found any user friendly easy to obtain modern replacements? For the 250 and 350?id like to stock up.Thanks! 🙂👍

1976 Bultaco Sherpa T 350 basket case roller for parts. Missing head, cylinder, triple tree and handlebars. Bottom end turns over, good wheels, tank, seat pan, pipe, etc. The real deal here is the new never installed VAPE electronic ignition #7269799AC with instructions. My 159 is currently at 1mm oversize but could do with a rebore as there is some light scoring after the small end spacer broke up. Is there a bigger oversize than +1mm or will that mean a new liner or scrap the barrel?

im thinking of puting these covers on my 199A would it look ok with black?

Hi All, While doing a little cleanup around the house over the weekend, I decided it was finally time to address a pile of old tires that had been collecting out behind the garage. They were mostly unusable motocross tires pulled from earlier restorations but, while loading them into the truck for disposal, I took a pause before throwing in the old trials tires that came mounted to my recent m49 and m80 purchases. The m49 had an ancient Pirelli MT 08 Trials up front and a Dunlop Trials Universal in the rear - both tires severely cracked. Hi there can anyone recommend a company in the uk that do rebores. My 198A 250sherpa is in need of a rebores and wondered if anyone could advise on who to use and estimated cost of he rebore.

Hey all, I am rebuilding a M199 with a 2 main bearing crankshaft. Has anyone ever converted this engine to take 3 main bearings as per the M199A? It looks like I just need a new seal holder from a 3 bearing engine and then a different shorter spacer for the seal to run on, from a 3 bearing engine also. Any help appreciated :-)

Trying to install a simple two wire KS one wire from switch went to ground and the other is a mystery. The other wire ? There is a terminal block that has 8 terminals with 5 being used 1 ground whiteon right side then black going to coil. then green, black, yellow all on left side of block. Those 3 are from wire loom from mag/eng.. So where does my other wire from KS go to and how????? Thanks for helping. It must be simple right?!!!

i have a bultaco 198a 250cc it will start with the choke on from cold after two or three kicks, after it has warmed up if i stop to look at a section for four or five minutes i have to use the choke again for it to start, is there anything i can adjust it to start without the choke. hi all ive had my frame powder coated .and he has powder coated the coil bracket will it be enough earth if i just take the paint from inside the holes were the bolts go throw? allso ive asked this before but have forgot when i put the fork tubes back in the legs .and tighten the bolt up at the botom ive been told to use a copper washer will this stop it leaking.and how many do i need for each leg? one or more?

Had a look at a Sherpa 250 that may be for sale. It's definitely an M80 Engine and has the Homerlite Tank/Seat Unit but the present owner believes it has a special Sammy Miller frame. The frame number starts HB 150****** but definitely has tubes under the engine. Is this an early version of a Hi-Boy or was it standard?

can anybody help ive put new o ring and bush and seal behinde front sproket. put it all back together great a thought untill i had it running noticed it was still leaking. so i cheked were the oil was coming from. looks like its leaking behinede the felt pad so i give bultaco uk a ring and asked for there addvice. he said its the seal in the shaft i didnt know there was a seal there. so i got one tryed to put it in just want to know how fare in should it go in?

Anyone on TC know just what tuning or improvements Reg May used to make when he was preparing a Sherpa ? I do not mean the Vesty 340 special mods but the ordinary production bikes that he set up for both Comerford & private riders, how extensive was the work he did.
