I'm just starting out, have some some old Novogar trail boots (sort of MX boots with a trials type flat sole). They're pretty stiff, will they be any good or will I need specific trials boots to get going? Ta.

hi folks.... ive read a few threads debating the use of full face lids and as i can gather, the general majority of riders prefer the standard open face trials helmet for obvious reasons of visibilty and movement.... im new to trials and can agree with them issues, but ive just been watching some vid's on youtube and seen some bloody horrendous crashes that did make me think..... i saw a vid with adam raga which looked just bloody horrible !!!allthough im not attempting anything like the riding mr raga pulls off im sure my falling off skills could give him a run for his money.....hahaha... anyway i probably wont, but it did make me think weather or not i should wea…

Hi - I am looking to purchase some trials pants but there is no supplier within many hours drive so I want to buy online. But there is b.all information available on fitting and since I am 5' 8" (173cm) and 12.5 stone (80kgs) with waist 34-36" this can be an issue. Normal jeans are not a problem just take them up but these shaped pants look ridiculous. I have a pair of Fox MX pants and had to cut so much off the leg the knee pads are near my ankles. It appears most sports clothes are designed for young people with no waste and long legs. Someone must design for a more average size. I am not keen on the skin tight look - I want functional and comfortable. I like th…

About 5 years a go, i purchased a pair of Gaerne trials boots EU50 (UK14ish). They have been the best pair of trials boots I have ever worn, with them being so comfy and worth the money! Now here is the problem...My feet are getting to the ends of the boots and starting to become very un-comfortable . Does anyone know if there are any makes of boots that are bigger than a size EU50, as eventually, these boots will no longer fit me and it is becoming such a pain to find boots anywhere that fit me. Would really appreciate it if someone had some useful info they could give me Thanks all

Hi all, I need advice after last Sundays diabolical rain. We use Staceys Observer cards & you probably know how useless they are to write on in biro [or pencil] when they are damp & they are worse when wet. The Results team then has to interpret the card when it's dried out - next day Does anyone have a cost effective foolproof system that you can give to your Observers & know: 1 They can record the Lap, Rider Number & Marks lost easily from start to finish, when they are out for 4 hours in clouds & pouring rain. 2 It must cater for Multilap Trials - 3 or 4 laps of 20 or 15 Sections at most, & more likely 2 or 3 laps of 20 or 15 Sections 2 …

Hello, Please help! I'm on the hunt for trials boots but I have a problem, I have very short legs but large calves Shoe size is UK4 (Euro 37)& from the bottom of my heel to the back of my knee is only 15.5" and my calves are 14.5" I measure a whopping 5 foot tall and weigh just over 8 stone so I admit I'm a bit of an odd shape Are there ANY boots out there that might fit?! Any help would be very much apprciated. Dame Dabaphobic

I was reading on here the other day about trials boots and which ones are the best. It got me thinking that I should go out and have a look at mine and give them the once over. Got in the garage, scrapped all the mud off, give em a pressure wash, actually used some dubbin I found under the sink and low and behold, they have come up looking like new. Not bad since I bought them in July 1998 and only ever bang the mud off them.

I bought one of these ES328 EZ-Tach +PLUS from JBTools US on ebay around $60 AUD delivered - I got it mainly to more accurately set the timing on my Cota 247 . But I started with my TLR200 set the unit to 4stroke single and it told me I was idling at 2400 rpm - so I assumed it has a waste spark on the top of the exhaust stroke and set it to 2 stroke and sure enough fluttered a bit over 1200 rpm. Using same settings on the Montesa and it indicated 2400 then 400 then 1200 then 2400 all over the shop and it doesn't matter where I place the unit use it or whether I am using the clip on sensor. Was I being foolish expecting something this cheap to work - or is there a…

I need to be careful with the helmet I buy for my road bike as most are too 'round' in shape and give me a blinding headache. I do know of two models that are designed to fit my head shape and they're fine. I tried on a few trials open face helmets today and they all seemed to be very uncomfortable. Does anyone know of a model that suits a narrower 'bonce'? Peter
