Ive just had my hub back from the powder coaters and it's ready to be sent to be spoked. But I can't remember which way the concaved spoked flange part of the hub attatches to the conical drum. Does it attatch with the concave going outwards facing the forks i.e. bottom and smallest part of the concave closest the hub or inwards facing the drum i.e. bottom and smallest part of the concave closest the forks ? Your help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Found what I think is an early Cota 247 in a garage only half a mile away from where I live. Totally seized engine, gearbox runs through all gears, forks seized as well, seat foam gone but all in all I'm really happy Any ideas what year the frame number. M21 2395 dates this bike to?

hellow, i ve got a 315r with the showa forks i had 8-10wd oil in my fork, but as i saw videos of people bouncing their bikes i clearly say that thiers are way easier to bounce than mine. So today i decided to change my fork oil again, and my left leg seems ok, not as soft as i expected it but ok, while my right fork works well with the cover nut off, but as soon as i thighten it i turns into a stick, it does not compresses at all. something else, i read the adjusting screw on top of my right leg should click every turn.... right?, well mine does not, actually never since i bought it has it click but it sure adjusted the damping on the bike until now, it seems to have …

Ok then I am rebuilding my 1980 Montesa 123 and i have replaced the points, condensor and all the wires from the stator. I replaced each wire as I took one off so I am pretty sure that it is wired correctly. I set the points and kicked the engine over - no spark. So i set about setting the timing using a dial gauge and ohmeter. Connecting one probe from the ohmeter to the single LT wire going to the coil and the other to an earth I get a constant beep. I tried all of the other 3 wires and got the same constant beep, I also tried different earth locations with the same result and still no spark. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong? Cheers

Just picked up a well used 2001 315r. Trying to get it running right. Got a chance to take it out to the woods today and in 1st and 2nd all is well. Get on a dirt road and take it up to 3rd and 4th and it wont take any throttle. Starts cutting out and bucking and wanting to die. Only seems to do this once its up to temp. Which sorta makes testing potential fixes a pita. So far I have been through the carb twice...its spotless. Tried the floats every which way and didnt make a difference. Need to pick up a new spark plug tomorrow as everywhere was closed on Sunday here. Old plug doesnt look to hot. But not sure if thats related. Anyways...looking for other ideas. I …

Hi all i have just bought a mont 314r cota for my nephew for xmas it has been stood for quite a while but is in good order, right now here is the problem it starts fine but as soon as the choke is released the bike stalls, there was a tear in the rubber between the carb and air filter so i have done a temp repair while i wait for a new one, but i cant see this being the problem so i need your advice, the bike runs great as long as the choke is out, just wondering if it could be the air fuel mixture screw, it is the first mont i have bought normallyhave gassers so its all a bit of a learning curve would welcome any help thanks!

I have recently bought a 78 Montesa Cota 348. Everything is running smooth except for an issue with the forks. They were pretty seized and only moved under a lot of pressure. I took one for to bits trying to locate the problem. It seemed like the damping rods were jammed in the stanchion. It took a few hard knocks to get it out and here is what I found. http://i.imgur.com/d99wyGs.jpg The piston ( part # 2135.023 ) on the damping rod is all cracked and wasn't sliding smoothly inside the stanchion. I located 2 more from spain. Now I am trying to reassemble the forks and they just wont go back together. The new part just will not slide into the stanchion, it is as if it …

Hiya all, I've taken two springs out of my 4rt clutch and put dimpled plates in which has given a lovely clutch but slips in high gears. I am looking for a heavier duty spring to replace two of the existing 4 springs with to stop it slipping. Problem is that the 4rt ones are 27.6mm long and the uprated 315 ones are 39mm. Anyone know of where to get hold of 27mm uprated springs?

Hi, I’ve just been getting a 2018 repsol which is practically new. Rode for about 8hours absolutely perfect. Then developed a bit of a splutter , the revs drop and It’s cut out a time or two during the ‘splutter moments’ if I rev. When I’ve looked again, the fan has tried to start and flickers at the exact same time as the engine drops revs and runs very briefly below usual idle speed, before picking itself up again. I’ve swapped plug and cap to new and it’s the same. Cleaned air filter. There’s a host of others things to try that I’ve seen online but was hopeful someone here could identify the issue without me having to tamper too much. Any help would be much appreciated…
