European Trials

The pre entries for this trial open 27/06, apparently there will be a full explanation in English this year, as " must have documents " to ride have changed from previous years, as it is being run under a new federation . I understand a full effort is being made to welcome non French riders, but as yet that's all I know. Bear in mind an entry is not deemed accepted until all relavent paper work is received and agreed. As explained on a previous thread, regarding this trial you need a three man team, or you get teamed up with other Larry no mates.....so you might spend the weekend speaking French or Spanish. This is a long shot... If anyone's going to the Creuse 4 day trial in France from the Scunthorpe area I'd be massively grateful if you could transport a box of about 20?ish classic motorcycle magazines to the trials venue at Sardent where I could pick them up and thereby save about £50 in postage costs. Being a poverty stricken old age pensioner, I'd be happy to pay around £20 for petrol money.

I would like to know if I could ride trials in Italy using an ACU international trials licence, or is that only for international events? It seems an Italian trials licence is the same as a mx and enduro licence and would be a lot for perhaps one or two events. Thanks in advance.

I have been offered a job on the eastern side towards the south end of Lake Maggiore. I hope there are lots of clubs in the region but where are they? Thanks

On the off chance that someone reading this might want to visit this beautiful region at the end of April, and just might be able to sneak a bike onto the rack or into the motorhome, we are running for the fourth time our Classic trial. It is planned for the weekend of the 28 th and 29th. It is open to all classic classes with three routes easy, bit harder, and a little bit harder still. We will take riders on modern bikes over 50 officially, but any younger Brits wanting ride in this class, due to Brexit I will relax the rules.. You can enter on the day, you can camp on site, and if you so wish you can join us in emptying the French wine lake on Saturday evening enjoy…

Is anyone familiar with trials around the Bilbao area. Any trials shops in or around the city ?? Any clubs in and around the city ?? I know Gerona is a big trials area but not sure I'll be over as far as that but I will be in the Bilbao area for a few days soon.

As the months fly by, just wanted to draw your attention to, two weekends later in the year that might be of interest to those looking for an outing in France or Spain. The best classic trial in France in my opinion le VTC classic , Mont Ventoux 14 th and 15 th October, entries open in a week or so... The best classic trial in Spain... in my opinion Motocats, Trial Saint Feliu , Near Girona 18 th 19th November . Places will be sort after, and there are limits to riders and followers so if you fancy riding these, start thinking about it now. Just on the off chance someone out there might be interested. The Easter weekend 15 th 16th April we are organising a classic trial here in the best bit of the Dordogne. Just a few km's from Sarlat, 20 sections of fantastic quality, with a ride round of 20 odd km's. Might even be an excuse to get away, you won't be disappointed. We will accept modern bikes for over 40 riders.. all non stop. Camping is avaliable from Friday until Monday with toilets, and an evening Saturday night meal is arranged to help empty the French wine lake. Further details available by PM

Whilst quite a while off, the dates have been set for the Classic trial in Mont Ventoux Provence for the 14th and 15 th October. Those who fancy a European adventure this comes highly recommended, for how it all works, and information please look at previous posts here over the last two years. Regs normally come out around the end of July, and its advisable to get in early with entry and booking accommadation .

Last event for the German Trials Championship, held in Osnabrück (North Germany).
