  1. Thanks to all of you for your useful info, the bike is now running very well with the white needle fitted I would however prefer to use the viton type as it is supposed to partner the new float. Thinking about it one possibility could be if the angle is different on the viton needle tip the effective needle length would be shorter? so causing the over fueling. There must be something as we have all had similar problems.

    Tickover

Check air filter before stripping the carb and blowing everthing through with an air line (do NOT poke anything through the jets) then check very carefully the O ring around the main jet holder which fits into the float bowl.
  3. Carb was new genuine not copy, spec is unaltered. Measures 15mm from gasket face to needle seat. Again read the Burlen technical pages before calling their technical help number, though helpful they could offer no real insight as to why the problem was happening but stated that the stay up float wa definitely the way to go saying recheck everything. Did just that without really finding any differences so reassembled using stay up float with white needle and the problem has gone away, bike runs perfectly.
  4. Will do the measurements asap, thank you.
  5. Your very best otion is to contact Villiers Services Birmingham UK, they have a good website.
  6. With the adjustable needle tangs the stay up should be an easy fit but it currently looks as though the old one wil have to be reused.
  7. Thank you both for your replies. So far not so good then judging by your experiences. Looks like the trials rider pays up and does the developement work yet again, we continue to pay the asking price for things that simply do not perform. Any one done any better with these floats?
  8. Just fitted an Amal stay up float kit to the concentric carb on my bike but now it floods as soon as the fuel is switched on, have tried to lower the float level as well as checking the viton tipped float needles operation but without effecting a cure. Any ideas please.
  9. Are you in the UK ? If so call Beta UK quote frame and engine numbers they will have all relevant information. I think it may be a 2002 model by the colours.

    Trs Bike Unveiled

Having now seen the bike I do not think JT has been wasting his time, it appears to me at least to be well thought out with influences from most or all of its current rivals.
  13. My understanding of the reason why motorcycle rear brakes were placed on the left hand side has something to do with the way brain signals are sent to limbs giving quicker response to right arm left leg or left arm right leg, it was our american friends (or their politicians) who demanded that the brakes on everything have to be as they are now. I too think that once you get used to the bike you will not even think about rear brake pedals.
  14. Agree brake on left = proper bike.
  15. Also for sale today a Model 27 and a 49, not sure of the price of these though. There were a lot of bikes for sale both in the halls and outside 199a, 199b, various Montesa models also Pre 65.

  21. Raises the question will the new owners of GasGas maintain build and materials quality by using the same suppliers, unless everything is as before the newly built bikes will be just as unknown a quantity as are the other new brands.

    Trs Bike Unveiled

I have owned or ridden Beta Rev 3, Beta Evo also Montesa, all have similar frames which were made by Verlicchi in Italy (do not know if this is still the case) both companies retained this frame type in various guises while GG and Sherco had several very different designs of their steel version. Jordi Tarres had great success on Beta with the alloy frame so he obviously thought this the way forward.
