Your forks are MP so are British made and as such should be acceptable to all clubs.
REH are very similar but I think they are MP.
What do you think Deryk do you have any pictures of either fork please?
-
Spen ride whichever you like or what suits that particular event, works for me then I get to enjoy riding old bikes as well as newer ones.
-
Bashplate try Dynasurf Sandbach UK, they do a really good job. I imagine because you are in NZ you would not be charged our vat which is 20%
-
35mm stanchion diameter is the maximum allowed at most pre 65 clubs, this equates to approx 1 3/8" so similar to many British bikes.
Original forks would be perfect but now very hard to find.
29.5" to 30.5" overall fork length measured from centre of spindle to top of leg would be about right for most bikes.
Yokes are made by Alan Whitton, Max Hayes, Gerry Minshall and several others, contact details can be found on the Armac and Yorks Classic websites.

What do you mean by 'highly modified' please explain,
which period in trials history do you regard as being definitive,
Pictures of your machine which you claim to be of that era you refer to might help us better understand your point of view.
-
Might it be the trials that are wrong not the bikes, if traditional sections are used where all types of bike can be ridden then the advantage gained from modification is reduced.
So what if a few finish with little or no marks lost.
-
A very interesting read good photos as well, the small road bikes appear to be top quality.
Noted also the mention of the two new generation prototype engines one gear the other chain primary.
-
-
Might a relocation to Egham be a possibility???
-
I use tie down straps not the ratchet type to secure my bike to the trailer. You must fasten down both ends of the bike though no matter what type you use so that if you brake sharply nothing slackens off.
-
These brackets replicate the original alloy type fitted to the last bikes produced having a two point mounting to the frame tube and are not the forked steel type.
-
Hi Mark,I am unable to send you a message, maybe your inbox is full? if you contact me I will send you details of the supplier.
I am unwilling to post contact details on the www for obvious reasons.
These brackets were on display and sale at both Telford and Stafford.
-
Someone was selling these at the Stafford Classic Bike show in April, I will try to get further details for you.
-
I have recently restored an OSSA TR77 so have learned a bit about this model. The TR77 steering head angle is as far as I know the same as the MAR models but the fork yokes are parallel which steepens the forks a little.
The legs should be set through the yokes to reduce the overall height. No idea of the actual angle but Steve Sell will probably know.

Or place the information you have here on tc so that Ron and the others could get their bike working and ride in trials.
By posting you would then as you quote 'so was aware of the inaccurate misinformation on google..............' save other riders wasting their time.
-
Surely it was the above post that Ron took offence at.
Every post in the Pre 65 section is immediately steered off topic by ads for an e magazine or someone criticising every bike that is not original with full history as in the recent Drayton Bantam question.
-
Has it ever ran properly since the electronic ignition was fitted, what system is it. They can be tested it may have developed a fault.
-
Is it possible that the crank case seals have been fitted the wrong way round, an easy mistake to make, could the exhaust be blocked or restricted.
-
Workshop not factory produced but looks very functional, straight through pipe and less bulky so it gets my vote. If used with the SM middle box that Stu mentions is there a front pipe available as well?
-
Hi Netley welcome to the tc forum.
Probably best to strip the carb and clean with compressed air, check the condition of the float sometimes they can split if they are the hollow type, clean air filter, check ignition timing, check wiring contacts maybe a condenser as well then fit a new plug and try again.
On the Beta section there is info on Mikuni settings, best place for Mikuni spares if required is Motocarb.
Good luck

It also helps if the brake is centralised before fully tightening the wheel, spin wheel then apply the brake, keep brake on and tighten spindle nut.
-
-
I think you should check the frame for corrosion in case water has been in the tubes before spending money on it. 199a frames do appear on ####uk auction site at times.
The forks and wheels are also to the earlier model but all should be out there to buy, worth calling Ellastone Off Road and Allens Spares they may have parts.
-
I have a ToDoTrial bashplate on my 199a. I think it a great improvement over the too narrow original version, they are a quality product which fits perfectly and correctly contoured where needed around the cases.
The airbox on my bike is the 199a original, I know the works bikes were often changed to the 159 type but unless full throttle is used a lot of the time would it make a difference?
-
So much to see at Telford but I missed that.
What difference has it made to your bikes handling.
