What about BVM s mr kemp on page 71
I laughed for ages, where did you get that hat
What a smart alloy framed honda and in colour ,top book
-
b j
I would like to keep my sherco when its sorted but the wife would kill me
i bought the monty on the plastic
matty, I think b j like myself feels it is a bit early to truely judge the scorpa yet (its early days )As from our own experience a factory developed bike and a trials ready bike ar two verry different things.
We have not got the benifit of a factory mechanic in the garage;but i still wish the bike every success.I had three scorpas in a row inc the little 125f
-
Thats it for now i have tried all the new breed four bangers
the new scorpa seems nice (to early to tell )but the sherco was fine for about three months.
as a clubman level ride i think the scorpa will fit right in
I am finally getting used to my monty (really soft usable power with restictors in )
and the kit is on the way for the sherco ,now this bike is really an expert level bike (to much power for me)
Lots of people comment on the noise of the fourstroke have they never heard a pre 65 bike now that is noisey, but i love them aswell
-
RE 500
When did you get your kit ?
I was told another week at least (on thursday)
let us know how well it works
-
Ferret is probably right
dont put anymore oil in and see if the level keeps going down, dont let it go past the low level mark that is the most important one
-
Putoline do both motox 4 10/40 and a super 75 weight
Half the price of elf (still expensive)
But works fine
-
P.A
Do people who compete in the tdn and world champs acctually buy there own bikes?
I would have thought the works mechanic would get there lights working for them
not ask how to do it on a forum???
Luckilly at club level here in the uk at least we do not require working lights.
-
Alchie
dude we are from the same planet after all
Maybe its BVM that give the good service ? not the importers
But i must say i feel the montys are well put together, the scorpas i have had recently are also well built (in my humble opinion)
The sherco is not as well finished but when it actually starts its awesome,
pitty it dont start often enough!!!!
-
Why would you want lights anyway?
I rode mine for about five hours last week and could hardly get off it
not exactly a comfy road bike????
-
I to still have my 320 ,only because no one would take it in px
like atom i love it when it is running but hell it is so frustrating when it plays up
Sherco keep saying the same old thing the kit ts on the way (six months now)
but its too late i have lost all faith in it and sherco.
I have borrowed money and bought a monty (starts every time and has really good back up from the dealer /importer)
Best of luck though, but i wont waste another penny on mine
-
chipy
Its really easy just tighten all the bolts up till they shear off and come back half a flat, that should be optimum tightness
Really if you dont like the noise of a rattly floating disc ,put some small o rings under the washers then it will still move but not rattle
-
yeah jayLael
I to love to bash in my new stuff, its not yours till you crash it
My 4rt has all restrictors after the head still in and makes really strong useable power, I cant see why any non championship level rider would need more power
-
The 4rt seems to keep out the water really well but you must allways put a clean filter, with fresh oil every ride after all it only takes five mins.
Cheaper than a rebuild!
I have started to use notoil and it makes filter cleaning really clean and simple, plus the filter seal grease is spot on.
No more petrol stink in the kitchen sink, the wife is happy to
-
ALchie
When you try and start the bike do you slam the starter down?
sometimes if you are to quick with the initial prod the starter dog is not fully engaged thus producing a grinding sound,
put a little bit of pressure on the kickstarter before you start your full swing and go steady the 4rt loves it steady.
And as for warranty i had a little problem on my bike when delivered and the parts where sent out no quibbles NICE ONE SANDIFORDS AND BVM MOTO.
-
Lastplace
Real cider is cloudy and like meths it strips paint
but it wont burn so is much safer
And essex
its under a fiver a gallon oh happy days
-
Oh yeah essex rider strongbow is not cider
you can see through it ,where is the goodness in that
-
Looks like the radiator is un guarded?
Oh i love bling.
-
Thanks chaps.
VIVA DOUGIE FOR NO 8
-
Woody is spot on the monty is a well suited clubman mount
I still have my sherco 4t and would say that is better suited for expert level
The real bonus with the monty is it allways starts (at the moment anyway)
-
Hi gents
service time already
What oil are you using ?is the elf stuff for the gear box easy to get ?
IS THERE A CASTROL OR PUTOLINE EQUIVILENT ?
-
Sorry boys i know its been disscused before but what works best on 4rt
Gearing ?
Tickover ?
any other set up tips,i love the bike allready but it does feel slightly over geared,
Next to the sherco 4t (which i stil have for my sins)it feels smaller and more flickable.
-
The kill button on mine also has a spongy feel and a delay in killing the motor
is that something to do with the injecton?
or just a naff button?
-
Had one scare allready one of the cable tidies (with the knobbly ends)was just touching the cooling fan blades
when the fan came on i pooped my pants but 2 secs and it was fixed.
I think 4 tanks of fuel is a bit safer, lets see
-
Finally got my 4rt,
The only thing is it says to run in for 20 mins that seems short by any standards ,what have you lot done?
-
Great tip i will forget it untill i get home after embaracing myself
I got my 4rt friday and am delighted with it (at the moment)
