Trouble is most trials importers are yorkies, you know what they say "eat all sup all n pay nowt"
Tight as a badgers a***.
They are all the same when it comes to warranty.
But it must be hard to tell what is a genuin fault and what is the result of abuse.

I have writen about this allready on another page
RE500s hot start mod on the sherco 320 4t has absolutly transformed the
hot start issues with my bike
for no apparent reason my bike would refuse to start ,sometimes taking 20+ kicks
now i still try and start as normal but you can tell if it is having a funny 5 mins
lift the hot start open the throttle a little and one kick to clear next kick starts
i have even turned it upside down when really hot let the motor stall and it still starts
if you have not done it do it NOW
-
No way if the bike was red with wheels i would never tell witch way up it was
anyone got any idea when the 06 will be out?
-
Had a look on google to see if anyone had an 06 4rt picture and found a diego bosis 280 special
Is next years 4rt a 280 ?
-
sorry re500 and ishy
just back from hols
re500's hot start mod really does the job
hope it starts in the really cold weather
-
RE 500
did your hot start mod by nessesity last nite .
read flooding in sherco section
BLOODY GOOD SHOW.
so simple yet so good thanks
one thing you dont need when you and the bike are hot is bad starting
thanks again

Went out for a practice last nite and flooded my mates pickup with fuel
i have got into the bad habit of leaving the fuel on
WATCH OUT the bike was a bit further over than normal,i could smell petrol
on inspection fuel was dripping out all over.
I tried in vain to start it at my practice spot (yes i was a bit miffed)
when i got home without a ride, i found about a mug full of petrol in the air box (and i had tried to bump start ,BANG,)just aswell it did not start.
after stripping the carb no muck or problembs where evident.
I did ishys hot start mod while i was in there.
put it all back together and it started first kick
Lessons re learned TAKE YOUR TOOLS WITH YOU
TURN THE FUEL OFF
By the way the hot start mod seems to work a treat, I will do a trial and let you know

Bikespace i read yur comments yesterday but i have to borrow this pc,so i cant reply, the work pc wont let me register.
You may have read my comments elsewhere.I am really pleased with the 4t but my results are inconcistant,It is a hard decision to make but i am sure it is a bit to much for me,
If i was just playing or doing club trials only the bike would be fine but after four hours on it watch out or it will bite.
i have riden the monty a bit more now and what seems sluggish at the start is easy on you later on
BLOODY BIKES i hate them!
-
Bikespace you got me the sherco is to bloody powerfull
i have riden it in seven trials and won three of them (clubman class)
but in the others i am bottom third ,it bloody scares me.
the 4rt i have ridden is lovelly and tame compared, i must be getting old
-
webmonkey you rock, you can buy me a pint any time ,but i heard doug is pretty badly hurt i hope he can shake it off ,
lets hope the yorky bugger is stobourn enough to pull it off
i think i might change my sherco for a monty tough, well i am getting old
-
How well do the montys start ?
my sherco is really random,
one trial it will go all day first or second kick then for no apparent reason it will flood or pop and take bloody loads of kicks to start.
This happened three times yesterday then calmed down for the last lap.
does the fuel injection stop this?
-
Andy you really are the muts nuts,The photos are brilliant.
this site really comes up with the goods
right creeping over have you got any cheep french plonk on offer ?
The exhausts do look trick,in the old days quite a lot of off roaders had straight pipes pointing at the rear tyre, the thinking being it blew the mud off the treads, and open carbs for that matter.
a bit of mud down yer pipe dont matter none,I think we are all looking for a little thing to say i told you so,the production bike will probably have a great dustbin on it like the 4rt
-
You boys should buy sherco 320 4t s they would pull two gasser 300 raga reps backwards
and the ignition cover is oil filled so no condensation in yer sparks
come on move with the times
-
I had a monty on order for ages and gave up being fobbed off by the importers,
luckily for me the sherco was released befor i got the monty
then all the troubles started with the montys, that put me off a bit,so i got the sherco on spec alone,
being an average clubman i can tell you this
the monty feels like a slightly underpowered 2t and i did not get on with it at all
the sherco is like a tractor on speed and flatters an average rider with power to spare everywhere
-
The quality of advice given on this web site never ceases to amaze me
ishy keep up the good work
my bike has out of the blue started to need choke on initial start ?
i have been using castrol gps semi synthetic oil,it seems to be fine also i removed the ignition cover and took the little metal clip that holds the loom in place, and found it was verry sharp from being pressed out of thin sheet steel,so i deburred that as well,
also i put lm grease on the grommet and casing where the generator wires run through, fingers crossed.
the bike now ticks over faultlessly
the flatside would be trick though
-
Frank got your e mail but i dont know how to move my question
i have to borrow my wifes computer ,and i am rubbish on it.(same as my bike i am rubbish on that aswell)
anyone seen the scorpa yet?
-
I have also found a clean air filter really makes a difference to starting
i know we should all change filters each time we ride but trials riders dont all tend to look after there bikes as well as they could
on my old 2t's i did not seem so crutial but bang in a clean one and its first kick every time
-
Has anyone got a photo of the new 4t yet
Can you show us?
-
If you still run lights on your 4t be verry carefull of the rear light wire positioning
The fan runs on a common wire and if this burns on the verry hot 4t pipe it will short out the fan BE CAREFULL
-
Indoor trials are the" its a knockout" of trials and serve no real purpouse
ordinary riders will never have the skill to three even the easy sections
but people at my work with no real interest in bikes love it, they are amazed at the skill of the top riders
but as far as trials go they have little or no relevance to ordinary riders
but all publicity is good publicity
-
The special thing is it makes you whellie like a pro, i can turn corners and all now
the grip in the mud took some getting used to
you have to get on and ride it like you stole it ,then it seems less likely to throw you off
it does not pull the front round like a normal fourstroke, seems like less engine breaking ?
i was not too sure if i liked it to start with, but now i am converted what a bike
-
The only trouble i have when hot is opening the throttle slightly out of habit
if this occurs i open the throttle about a third and boot away ,four kicks normally has it purring
other than that it is normally second kick and away
the power seems smoother now it has 30 hours on it and it has stopped burning oil on initial start from cold
-
That swm looks to good to ride,Is it going into a collection or into the mud?
-
I used a little scorpa 125 f for a year to try and adjust to the 4t s
However this may have been a bit non productive it was relativly easy to adjust to less power but going the other way is a real culture shock.
the big 320 really is quite a handfull.but as they say practice makes perfect and i really need the practice.
-
I was looking for an excuse for a quick rest at trials having hit the big
four o
now i go back to the jeep for a splash and dash (me and the bike)at half distance better safe than sorry
