here's my two peneth
the beta is the doupters way out
so many of the guys that slaged of the monty and the sherco now have a way out
they have realised they where so wrong slagging fourstrokes and now really want one,cos they are starting to win big uk trials, this gives them a way to own one and still slag the other brands!!!!!
nice one beta four beats is better than two??????????
-
I know it was only a couple of weeks ago that we disscused flat tank availability but
any news yet??
i want to buy one, someone said a british company where looking into producing one
i would prefere to buy one and put my pump in it,to keep the stock parts, just in case.
-
mine is a coleman
from a fishing shop, its for a lead free petrol lamp
i think it was about a tenner and holds a litre, and actually has leadfree petrol written on it so its legal to carry fuel in
-
The mx ers either run fuel injection or an electric start.
the choice is yours.
anyway they should only start the bike once per race not fourty times like a trials bike
-
my riding buddy put his money down with a local dealer on wednesday and he was no 4 in the que
that has to be good, lets hope beta deliver the goods
the revolution is nigh
-
r click
if i had known you where sutch a sucker for punishment i would have sold you mine
i can kick start my gold star, and i owned a twinshock husky fourstroke,
but i will rest in peace now i know jesus walks among us
-
Well done andy
Belive it or not i was going to place an order for raptor pegs this weekend with the dealer concerned
the hangers and pegs are
-
I was in a position early this year when i still owned both a 4rt and 4t sherco
I have riden fourstroke and two stroke bikes for over 30 years,i cant drive a car so i think i have the knack of starting most bikes.
I must dissagree with right click, there is no knack to starting the 4t sherco.if it decided not to go that was it period......
when it was going the motor was awesome loads of power all through the rev range, but you could not rely on it finishing a trial .
the mont just allways goes, not quite as well as the sherco perhaps but ALLWAYS GOES.
so if you actually want to trial with it buy the mont
-
Real trials bikes dont need to be competative at world level
they need to be reliable and good value for money..
the manufacturers want us to buy world class bikes that only 20 people in the whole world could ride anywhere near thair tru potential.
the little scorpa 175 is one of the best trials bikes i have ridden in a long time, and would be powerfull enough for most people
except r2 he needs a cr250 mx motor in a bmx bike ,
-
Yesterday i answered a question that was really nagging in the back of my mind
i flooded my 4rt in a stream.
i had taken on water in a stream during a trial then went straight over the bars, the bike coughed and stopped
i took the bung of the bottom of the air box lifted the bach wheel to empty it, really gently tried to turn over the motor, felt ok so gave it a kick,it fired straigt away and ran perfectly for the rest of the trial.
stripped it out when i got home and could finde no water or muck in intake body
put in a clean air filter and ran round the block a few times,
maybe this fuel injection aint so bad after all???
-
Just catching up on the weekends word war
Well done AA ,I felt the same about my 4t sherco, and verry let down by the importers.they allways said the right think but took to long to do it i lost 2500 in seven trials
Why do most people think montys are big and heavy?????
you lot must all be little boys or whimps????????
well under 80kg ready to go is not heavy
and as a few of you say the beta is heavier?????
instead of being arm chair crittics go and ride them,or look through the results in tmx ,lots of trials at all levels are won on fourstrokes,
-
Oh yes please
what a cracker
if it goes even half as good as it looks it will be fine
my only worry is the carb
everyone knows fourstrokes need electric starts or fuel injection.
but lets hope beta prove me wrong
-
I still kept catching my boot on the rear 4rt brake peadal even after 8 months
so here is a quick fix
take off the folding tip, this bit varies on the facilitys mates you have, either put an m8 by 14mm bolt in a vice and file it down to about 5mm thick and cross hatch the top ,put an m8 nylock nut in the gap between the old mounts on the lever and put the nut in from the top
instant small tip that will roll along any rock you hit.
or if you have access to a lathe turn up a small alloy bolt with a 18mm top counter bore that with a 12mm by 3mm deep top castlate this with a small file and bolt up the same way
works a treat and i have not missed it yet
-
HOWEVER IN A REAL TRIAL LIKE THE SCOTT
with 300 competitor dougie turned up and won
did he just appear to do well ????
viva fourbangers
-
Right here is a good one for all the old timers
remember when teams actually wore team kit?
what were the country team helmet colours???
eg british racing green = UK
-
how offten do you check your pressure
if it had crept down yot may not have noticed
i run 4 psi back 7 psi front but check regularly
-
Now that would be nice
orange trialers ,i allways did like the ossa gripper
-
Been out on my little 50 a few times now
cant belive the power, but for my slight frame (read fat pie eater) a bit more would be nice
the only trouble is getting a kit, have had one on order from pollini for seven weeks
anyone know where i can get one
-
The scorpa has a carb and starts well
but it did run quite lumpy off the bottom
fuel injection is the way to go
but are honda holding on to there technology????
-
Lucky thing the montys are so good build wise you can just up grade them to current spec so you dont have to change bikes
I lost
-
Had a ride on the 175 f scorpa at the bvm test day
What a really good bike it is
my only complaint with the little 125 was its lack of big hill power
the 175 was in my opinion more than powerfull enough for the average clubman rider
if i was not as happy with the monty it would be top of my shopping list
-
Heard the rumor at the bvm test day
oh happy days hope its fuel injected
its supposed to be there own motor
-
as far as i am aware if it has a gold stamp on it you can use it for enduro
saw some lads at a trail yesterday with biefe helmets that had gold stamps on
i will look there
-
cheap sounds good
dirt bike show next week might find o0ne there
-
I am looking for an open face helmet for enduro ???
It seems quite hard to finde an open face with an acu gold stamp,
any ideas ????
