  1. It aint that long of a day, and one guy doesnt "Do IT all" he does a lot though. It is cooperation because observers are able to teardown sections at end of thier judging (works out we setup 2 sets of sections, morning and afternoon). nothing like 12 guys tearing down 12 sections, takes what 5 minutes, and is done simultaneoulsy. I still didnt get the answer Scorpa, who judges over there? are they paid or volunteers or what?
  2. I dont understand, Even in the olden golden days if you stopped with your balance it was NOT a 5. Sure it might been harder to stop and balance but mainly because I dont recall trying to learn it, like we do now... Anyrate, why would you all want to take that away? I read up quite a few posts, that they have a hard time finding observers? Anyway, so Im asking who is doing the judging (observing?).. Over here ALL club members are available to judge. We judge each other over here, we ride AM classes and PM classes (split them up by population and skill more or less), So lower classes ride in the morning judged by upper classes then we switch. I cannot imagine doing it any other way, but I would love to see it... So you all over there, you bring out the Wife/girlfriends to do the Observing/judging ? Heck, mine goes shopping while Im riding :santawink:
  3. sting32

    Umm ?

Maybe the O-P didnt read that it was a more or less a RAFFLE ticket type "chance to win" a bike.
  4. My bet that the metal has warped, maybe a machine shop can help, or might it be possible to make a thin copper gasket or liquid gasket stuff, you know something from loc-tite?
  5. Whoo Hoo!!! Hey Mich, you been teasing us all (on the other board If I recall) for uh um, oh what a year or 2... about the 3 keys to success... Thank Andy for me, boyz, alowing Michlin back on the boards, and he spilled it right off!!!
  6. Alan, could you please think of the "nationals" as you would the playoffs for any other sport, would you not admit the number one seed gets an easy game, VS 12 seed? Yeah, a time or two at some point (give you there are flukes) best 2 teams usually play off for champ, right? Again, why would everyone think the Club Level riders have to adopt this Nationals policy, local clubs produce usually Expert riders or better, that want or desire to be the cream of the crop competition ALA---> NATIONAL competition. This is not the Novice Riders, never has been AFAIK. Even the Utecups were for Semi expert or above was it not? (been a while for me going to one, and that was as spectator many years ago) yeah a Amature level rider could enter at his own peril... And much like you have submitted if your kid is likely to compete at nationals in the 125cc class, you'd prolly be having him ride 125cc bikes, NO? Yeah I can see your pooint, maybe there needs to be a NOVICE "nationals for the rest of us"? Where us novice amature and intermediat/advanced riders ride agains the rest of the country's nov-ama-int riders? Sorry, but somehow, at this time that is NOT what is being discussed, least I dont think so, when we're talking about the Nationals?
  7. I need more English classes Ishy... Ok I said in a sense, that I feel your pain, as an american about the what seems like BS rules. BUUUUUTTT!!! Then again as an American can we just go back to the rules becuase as Americans we did better as a nation, at world trials scene back when there was NO STOPPING allowed at all in a section? No. The rules are controled by them trials governing body over there, not here, right? SO since we're trying to compete technically worldwide, should we not have nationals here in the usa reflect the world competition? that is the chicken or egg thing, becuase it would take a while before 125cc bikes get more abundance, and clubs to adapt (technically not have to adapt in most cases AFAIK) the kids and parents would just get a 125 to compete on even in whatever class at home, right? I have yet been to a trials were the Expert class rider "HAD TO HAVE A 280 versus a 125cc bike to be just as good. I fthe kids are better than that, what difference will it make? if they are going to compete at the nationals, right?
  8. Hey Johnny, Can't say I know where trials shops are in your area but I do know all the MFG's/importer web-sites have info on "dealers" and and things like that to help you find them. You'd be looking to "dealers" links at say, Gasgas website, or Beta, or Sherco and Montesa. I havent been to Montesa's usa site forever, hmmm.
  9. I agree that it is bullcrap that the people over there, even have the silly rule about age = cc, instead of weight. & 16 needs to be maximum age for 125 restrictions IMHO. But as a society of American trials riders, lets not forever more be so dang pessimistic, sheesh Things have to change sometime, why wait any longer? IMHO, you cant say the 125 thing will kill off trials for kids & families. IMHO it wont affect 98% of us, right off and in a couple years there will be more 125's around. That is as long as we dont try to push that rule into club level right off, eventually I think it will set itself, when more bikes are around. Those who are competitive will get 125's to prepare for nationals, the rest of us "recreational" trials riders will ride what we find as we always have. SO!! I say, lets start the transition asap! in a few years if/when more bikes get into the USA there will be just that, more bikes. The rest of you nay-sayers, You'll just have to think outside the box and trust that it is just gonna be like the debate about the Chicken or egg? BTW the decision really wont effect most riders I do NOT think, (leaving myslef room to be wrong)... because look at what the kids are riding now, how many "competitive" young up and comming riders in the USA arent on 80's or 125's???
  10. Bad enough to find out you are on the government payroll (joking), then you call me a youn un? Gopher was developed after I got really online I was online back when, prolly before all you guys were. I had access back when you had to be in a Database or IT group in the college to be alowed on the unix boxes that had net access. circa '89. I recall doing homework as well as other stuff with "vi" text editor, get out man. Pine was in it's day as big a jump as windows operating systems are now compared to dos, imho.
  11. Because Internet Explorer is a security risk. Its well documented with respect to its vunerablities. Particular problems arise in the way it controls the application of ActiveX scripts. Firefox on the other hand is well know for its security features and is therefore first choice for the business world and for most other people who keep up with the times. It has a variety of plug-ins providing enhanced features. A myriad of different themes and also has the feature of Tabbed Browsing. And all this for free ( that made you lot sit up !!! ) GET IT BELOW AND RID THE WORLD OF MICROSOFT PHISH CODING http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ant, To agree or not to agree, hmmm. IMHO: The security risk on any computer is the nut at the keyboard. I been around the net a few times, btw.
  12. Ill just link to here... Thanks, good ride, unless you help me win both days at avta <evil grin>, looks like Ill have 2nd
  13. Please put this information into the "GASGAS" specific group also IKB, so it can be found easier... start your own topic Pro Carb Spacer, would be a boon. Thanks!
  14. how'd you get Scott to do that, and you post it at TComp yet? Thanks bunches Mitch
  15. cant find that post. did he make more and offer them up for sale, or you make your own? I would like one...
  16. what ever happened to the making of the GG Pro carb spacer?
  17. I was attempting a reply to you, looks like R2Wtrials covered it... I will add, that IMHO the bikes are perfect (321&300) for bigger riders, yet each cater to, a different skillset for lack of better term? The 300's are geared faster, rev fast, can feel like they will get away from you when you 1st move up to one, from the 321, the fork rake is different everything is soo different than the TXT's that I had. You are intermediate like me, I was keen on clutching already, IMHO so torque? Well, prolly just a bit less, as it is definitly different altogether, hard for me to put finger on a description. The 300 lugs me up hills pretty good. So again about torque: SInce I use the clutch so much, there is in the pro somewhere between Infinity and no torque compared to the txt in the same situation not slipping the clutch, all this is depending on body position at the time
  18. Fellow Gasgas'r, I had a 99 & 2000 321... the 2000 and newer had different shock setup on the rear, both of them I had to get the heavier person springs since I am a big guy, from the guy at EuroDirt, in Silt Colorado. http://www.thewhimsicalwagon.com/eurodirt/ Those 321's are great bikes, I really am glad that was my "back to Competition" bike I got in 02. I have the PDF's for that bike around here somewhere, and you will see I answered the thread about Colorado, if you want me to email the pdf files (you use Adobe's free, Acrobat Reader to open them) I could be persuaded. IMHO Dont gear it down, you'll get stuck with that mentality & it will be harder to get on the newer bikes (IMHO). I did detune the spark timing just a wee bit, made it really smooth, the guy before me installed reeds, and extra base & head gasket, at least in the 99 model. I loved the 99 the most, it was sooo smooooth. We did try to match it with my 2000. I did however have to Get the quick pull throttle. I ride Intermediate, I was more or less just out of Amature (riding & recovering from broken leg that kept me out almost a year) when we got rid of the 321's. I Moved up to the 04 300, wont be going back anytime soon.
  19. Im not currently living there, I know a few from the area still so to speak. I know of 3 places where you can go during business hourse, in the Denver vicinity you can get more information meet a couple nice guys. one place is http://www.eurosportintl.com/ Bill Burgener owns it. He's up in Broomfield (that be just about 15 miles south & east of the peoples republic of Boulder Co. Euro Sport International, LLC 510 Alter St Broomfield, CO (303) 465-2848 Yahoo map link http://local.yahoo.com/details;_ylt=AgV3ev...scb=pWCtpKNxc.L Another guy to possibly look up, is Dave Burke, he's Sales Manager (I think that is his tittle) at Sun Honda http://www.sunent.com/ Sun honda 8877 Washington St; Thornton, CO 80229 Yahoo map link http://local.yahoo.com/details;_ylt=AvxM3g...scb=pWCtpKNxc.L The last one... there is a small motorcycle shop just on the street parrallel north of i-70, right north of, well near the LakeSide amusement park, or just west of Willis Case Golf Course. Pro Motorsports http://stores.hsprofessional.com/promotorsports/about.html (303) 433-0536 5275 W 48th Ave Denver, CO 80212 Yahoo map link http://local.yahoo.com/details?fr=dd-local...h1nXTb1VVcw_w-- all but the last one, have been around trials a lot, the last guy I met him and bought some gasgas parts while in Denver, as I found him kind of by accident. He knows people involved in trials, not sure he still does trials, but he had a few bikes and parts on hand. I know there are more, just dont know how to get in touch, ya know. Good luck out there... Tell em Mitch Wing (from Kansas) sent you looking for them, if they ask ya I guess...
  20. LOL back a few years, as if Trials didnt have the 'golf clothes' image, they came out with sidecar trials... The whole time (mind you Im one big advocate about trials, try like heck to do things to get people interested, in a big way...) I was a thinking, You cannot get 2 trials riders to agree "exactly" on how to even ride a section, yet this {new} sport and the people behind it, thought "hell put 2 of us 'wierd bike' riding-goobs, on more-less one bike..." the other thought, "oh yeah, sell em like hotcakes" NOT ROFLMAO... They tried Sidecar-Arenacross, before that too didnt they? oh well it could been fun I guess, maybe I sold it short?
  21. Be sure to kkeep track of it guys, because I dont keep up with Ebay-UK, it is too confusing with the money difference, but that is another story. so what would that bike *fairly* priced (not ebay'd) be worth over there, over here I'd bet about no more than $2000 (us dollars which we all know is worthless over there, ) It didnt look like that great of shape, cant tell for positive on the pics... and what the 'ell is the guy using for a friggin camera, early sub-megapixel cellphone?
  22. There are a couple things that happen when you have the 200 vs 280/300 pros, I think... One is the 200's come standard with a 1 tooth smaller front sprocket, and since you have been using the 'clutch' and slipping all the time, you can usually twist the throttle & "scream" the 200 up into the torque curves that I use on my 300 at much lower throttle, to get by same objects. With the 200 "IMHO" you have a bike that an average weighted person with average skills can ride easier, without the bike punishing you for your mistakes. Many riders 'get behind the bike' when riding the bigger/quicker bikes, which causes most of the trouble I see with riders (in general novice & Amature class) BTW, I have it happen too me also, especially when tired. The bigger bikes demand you be in position and in charge just litte more than say the 200, as they'll react quickly with the torque than the 200's do, because bigger bikes are not only torqy but quicker geared. Most riders probably benifit from the 200's tamer torque, at least until you are in advanced rider classes where the extra "OOOMPH" really can come in handy... Your Milage May Vary, Maybe... Sting32
  23. Back when, before you could Stop with your foot down, the rule of thumb for good riders was 1 dab in time, saves five Be A good role model, actively recruit riders, & convert a quad rider...
