Hey Broony, seems kinda odd that carbie was fine before and with lecky sparx is not. I would say there's somtehing amiss with the new spark set up.....or your float is jammed and flooding the motor???? Good Luck.

Hi I'm running 10 front 48 rear, you just need a circlip to hold the front sprock on rather than a plate and bolt set up.You also need a spacer behind the sprocket to take some of the 'wobble' out of the floating set up.

Well, had a play around with things, couldn't find anything bent, cut spacers down to 42mm and everthing much better. May be able to cut spacers down some more and add some air to forks.....when I have fixed the totaly sh*gged air valve on one of the fork caps.Are the valves available, or do ones off other models fit?

Thanks Hendrik, I'm going to do a bit of experimenting at the weekend to see if I can improve things . I'm 90 kg with riding gear on if that means anything to anyone as regards set up.

MMmmmm something amiss somewhere. stripped forks, cleaned and fitted new seals, filled with 295cc of 10wgt oil and......still harsh. sag when off stand zero, sag with me onbourd about 10-15mm. forks when out of yokes feel smooth, but when in yokes(trees)with everything buttoned up they seem sticky....loosen the mudguard bracket and they smooth up some, just slacken the wheel nut a whisker and they much better. sounds like something bent, or wheel spacer too narrow.

Hi guy's, can anyone tell me the length of the fork spring spacers as mine are deffo not standard. Springs are 510mm long and the spacers 65mm long, but it all feels a bit harsh, wasn't much oil in them either . Cheers.

I know I've said this before.....but would a cop know the difference between legal or non legal trials tyre....FFS they look identical.

john, why not just sort the gearbox out??? if it's like other montesa's, they're a bit finniky getting the selection to work well.

Emexien....how lucky are you...As stated earlyer most of us are torn between which shocks to spend our hard earned on, you already got a joice for free. They both good quality, so just play to your hearts content, in the end there maybe not a lot to separate them and you'll just end up with a spare pair on the shelf....alternatively, you could find another twin shock in need of some TLC, and fix that up too .....and that my friend is how we all end up with a shed full of bikes, isn't life sweet

MMMmmmm, I have 2 bikes, 1 with 1.85 rim the other with 2.15 rim...can't tell the difference, the profile looks identical and the tyres both measure exactly 4 inches.

Just done the trial today on my xl special, with a best lap score of 5 (lap 4). When I'd finished, I hopped onto the TLR and did a lap for a score of 1. Ran beautifuly and pulled realy strongly all the way through from trickling along slippery rocks in the river, to blasting up climbs.

Wow, flat caps, woolie hats...or just hair, reminds me of trials in the '70's. I was one of the woolie hat brigade back then, never bumped my head....wear a helmet now and would have had concusion a few times as smacked my swede HARD on overhead branches, I can only think the sections were more 'open' back in the day.

Once the tank and seat are on it's pretty much protected. We ride rocky streams and rivers.....it would have to be stupidly deep to reach the filter. Plenty of cub's and C15's ...pretty much any old brit iron running same set up.
