I bought a new Nau trials helmet from BVM on Saturday, take a look at their web site, they have a huge range of helmet manufacturers, colours and sizes.
The point about trying on is a good one. I am normally a L but needed a XL in the Nau range. Had I recieved it in the post then it would have gone back for a bigger size.

Once a trials bike gets to this age, you are buying solely on condition really.
A well looked after 96 Gas GAs would be worth more than a beaten up abused 2000 or 2001 model.
I had a new 270 one of these, they do have a complicated rear mudguard/seat fitting arangement which was a pig to put back together when they were new, so have a look at this.
One of the other points which you should have a good look at is the rear suspension linkage, once this worn out it is very expensive to replace. Lots of bearings and spacers which added together cost a fortune.
Check out the overall condition and forget the age. In mainland UK you would expect to pay anything up to about

If you contact your local centre (or nearby centres if you are on the border) they will supply you with a list of dates for events.
A list of names and contact numbers for centre officals can be found in the ACU hand book which you get with your trials affiliation.

Trust me, the carb will go back on. Be patient and keep trying, you don't need to force it. If the jubilee clip is causing problems, leave it off until you get the carb on, then gently open the clip completely and prise it just wide enough to go over the rubber, then do it back up.
Everyone thinks the carb will never go on again when they do this job for the first time but it gets easier the more times you do it. Have a break then go back to it when you feel more relaxed.

Never had a 321 but the 250 '01 had the same seat arrangement, I found that using a Hex head T bar helps a lot. It allows you to alter the angle of attack whilst still turning the screw. Always leave them loose until you get the last one in.

Had a couple of 315's, they never let me down apart from the rear spokes breaking.
On my 2nd Scorpa now, the Yam engine is also rather good. I always thought the Beta's were the best for build quality, however recent problems with ignition systems has spoilt this opinion for me.
I suppose... with anything mechanical, if you get a good one it's ok. Get a bad one and you hate it.

I must agree with both the points made in this thread so far.
TMX's coverage of Ragas WTC win was less than enthusiastic and there is little to encourage us secretarys to sit down on a Sunday evening after completing the results and write 'copy' free of charge for them.
But I still buy TMX for the regs and I still write reports after every event. Perhaps we are our own worst enemies!

Always wash my hebo trials kit at 40 degrees but use Persil colour fast powder, This stops the colours from fading.
I never use the tumble drier though, let them dry on the washing line or clothes airer. Often it's the tumble drying that causes the damage.
My hebo shirt is still going strong after 5 years of washing every weekend. The leggings eventually wore out after 4 years! It's the gloves that don't last long, get through a pair of those inside a season.

You only get the results if you filled in an envelope on the day as a rule.
If you did this then you will be getting them in the next few days I should think.
If you didn't fill one in, then I suggest you give the secretsary a ring and ask her to send you a set. Alternatively you could pop a sae in the post to her with a note asking for them.

Well done to everyone who finished the trial. We were so lucky the
forecast rain held off.
In the end, the special test was the decider with J.Page taking the
win. One of five riders who defied the course setters and stayed feet
up.
G.Hannam lost three to win the British class with Tony Graham topping
the rwin shocks and Caroline Everett best lady.
Excellent days riding. Special thanks to everyone who worked so hard
to stage the event.
Although the top riders made the trial look easy, no less than 20 riders dropped 50 marks or more. Five lost over 100!
Different start venue next year but same amazing Cotswold views.

For what it's worth, I had a new 2000 Sherco and the bulid quality was awful. The frame went rusty the first time I washed it. The later ones do have far better build quality though.

Just a quick one.... go down on the front to lower the gearing (make 2nd more useable) or up on the back. 1:4 roughly.

Kickstart broke on our 200 but the importers changed it free of charge as it was less than 6 months old.
As for the power, unless you ride large rock steps or massive hills, you will never be short of power on a 200. I tried a 125 and even that's got more than enough power for the type of trials I ride.
If you still need convincing, take a look at the 125 class of the Youth A national championship, see what those lads ride! And a good many of them weigh 10stone plus too.

Ive got a Scorpa and the lads got a 200 rev3 (04) It's been brilliant, grips well, it's easy to start and rear tyres seem to last a lot longer than on the 250.
Only problem we've had with the 200 is a broken kick start.

Ohh yes point taken, I forgot to mention. A really good rider on a 125 fourstroke will beat a poor rider on a 125 two stroke every time.

"AS good" is a difficult one to answer. The build quality is as good, the relianility is as good but as for riding, it is a very different type of machine.
For a clubman rider in an easy event, there probably wouldn't be any difference in the scores between the 2 stroke and the 4 stroke.
At a higher level of competition, the 2 stroke would probably win by quite a margin.

Although one could theoreticaly ride a trials bike to work etc, it is more common to use them on the road just for events which include road work.
It is rather hard on the tyres.
