I'm guessing that it's the steel nipples on the spokes that have corroded and not the alloy rim?
If so, it may be a lot cheaper to get the wheel re-spoked and a new rim-band fitted.
Just a thought, I have not priced up the job but I reckon a new Mont tape-less wheel ( that Copey says is a no go anyway) has to be in the region of

Hi Gordon,
Memory test time?? .... I recall someone else having similar symptoms to yours (I think the plate is welded to the shaft and it had fractured at the fillet)... although his bike had ,previously, been dropped and taken a whack 'full-on' to the shifter.
Part no 18 was the suspect:-

Suyooper vid... :rotfl: here come the Belgians.

Don't build me up to be too much 'cos I can't take a decent photo for toffee, pick the bones out of this:-
...but then I noticed that I'd taken this photo in the past..spot the difference????
-
I've got a day off tomorrow and you're on my list of things to do..but not very high up

The bike in question is a Beta?
Are there any Beta Rev3/Evo owners out there who can confirm that the plug fouling is a prelude to ignition failure?
I hope that 'The Right Reverend B40RT' is more right than I am .
-
Yup,
From what I remember 'neat and tidy' wiring is a worse tank-fit than 'bung it in' is??
Give me a some time and I'll take a piccy of my 05 with the tank off.
Hopefully your tank has not expanded whilst it was out of the frame, like some Shercos do !!

If you do get the urge to remove the HT lead from the coil body, let us know how you do it?
I've always wondered how to do it but never had a good enough reason to dive in there....but as usual I'm willing to let someone else be the pioneer

I'm currently going through my 'old rocker' phase and have these on my mp3 player:
I used to think they were only famous for one song ( Since you been gone) but.....
..and..

The way I see it is;
Gearing the bike down lowers my 'in section' speed, reduces my need to slip the clutch and gives me a bit more time to think without the motor running away with me...if you catch my drift?
Forgot to add that the downside is that the rear wheel spins up much easier...not usually a good thing.

Yes,me..Steve was good to deal with.

When I see some of these chumps trying to do the 'bull-run' in Pamplona, I can't help thinking ; if you wan't to get a horn rammed up your jaxie in front of a lot of excited men..just get arrested for summat and go to prison .
If the Spaniards insist on killing a bull for a laugh how about the bullfighter drops his swords, his costume, horse, cloak, ropes, assistants etc. and takes on the bull with just his bare hands.
That should even up the fighting bulls chances some what ?:-
(I think this bull was tame)
-
Ben, I'm gonna' do a Derren Brown on you:-
I reckon you're a scorpio, you're left handed, blond haired, you like third-person-shooter video games, love beans on toast etc.. but what I'm really getting at is that you're young enough to be bothered about the style of a rear-mudguard???
There is a guy on tinternet who is as bothered as you about the angle of his Scorpa rear mudguard and has posted up a blog on how to 're-sculpture' the plastic of a standard mudguard into the shape you desire.
If I can find the link I will add it...but do a search yersel and see if you can find it before me..Now I wish I hadn't deleted my internet history cache.

''.....live and let live..''???
The fox hunting thing..if it's vermin, kill it,fair enough but the sight of a bunch of toffs getting a hard on from chasing a fox through the countryside is the objectionable bit.
I've asked this related question to Laia,Toni,Adam and Albert before;
Do your countrymen still chuck the donkey off the bell-tower? Discuss.

Years ago, cue; violin music that was an official remedy (from a local GasGas dealer) to a perma-fault with leaking forks on '95 and '96 yr model Gassers.

Aw, c'mon Copey..I've told you before those trojans are a one shot deal, not for re-using !
Back on topic..CopeMech lives in Texas where the temperature rarely touches down at 0 degrees C or below so he would think that the original seals are virtually everlasting
I've ridden in -15c conditions before(for a laugh
-
Hmm, armatures like this:-
But yeah, that no.30 was a trials rider amongst 'throttle jockeys'...it was like a mad spider army.
-
Not sure how long these seals last:
SEALS ?
What Charles is saying is; we need more info to help .
-
-
OK, Time to brag; that back flip? I've done that before..only I wasn't on the bike when it landed..neither was the rear mud-guard..and I needed new levers and bars as well.
-
.....and alongside that video is this one.......
....mental

I had a 280 2001 'twer a good bike.

Looks good there...thanks for sharing

Nee 5h|t Sherlock?
Just makes me a little more jealous that other countries like Oz and the U.S. have the free space to utilise one of these beasties whereas we in the U.K.are very limited in our land use.
..Back to the bike...those seats seem to get higher and higher every year
Bet it flies.
Do GasGas strive to produce the lightest enduro bikes ( like their trials bikes) compared to their competitors?
Oh,and how long does the gearbox last?
