Some other things they could do: Replace the heavy fuel pump and its steel base by something much lighter. Switch the location of fuel tank and air filter. Air intake is much better protected and center of gravity drops a bit. + the volume of the current air filter is about 2.5 liters and could even be a bit more, the extra fuel is very welcome i.m.o. These are changes that are already on the after market, so should pose no problems.

They plan on keeping the GasGas factory enduro team alive, so maybe there's hope for Adam too.

From what I understand from the first press releases, the shareholders en financiers couldn't agree on a plan to save the company as it was. It also stated that if GasGas would return, it has to be on a much smaller scale and under other legal form. The employees were certain there would be buyers to take it over.

If it's any consolation, they intend to keep producing spare parts for the current models. I also read the factory enduro team will go on as usual, so maybe the trial team also. Lets hope they can make a comeback in a year or so, smaller but stronger.

There are/were 4 Sherco's in our club and all had cracked frames. Don't know if it's because of too light materials or poor build quality. I don't care if you call it anecdotal or not, it just shouldn't happen.

I'm sure if they would make a second model with a fuel injected two stroke engine, they would have a best seller. I would also like a larger fuel tank for my 2015.

When 280's are the only ones you can find it's easy to lower the compression or ad a flywheel weight to tame them a bit. I'm a intermediate rider at most and had a 2012 280 with lower compression and a slow throttle and I never got in trouble or out of control with it. I sold it to a novice and he is very pleased with the bike.

I would try a GasGas dealer, it should be a spare part they can order. Anyway that's the case for Montesa where I ordered some original fork stickers for my 2008 4RT.

75W80 oil is usually much to thick for your clutch, might cause excessive drag and bad shifting. If you cant find none of the above, I would rather go for something like Castrol Power RS 5W40, in any case a specific motorcycle oil suited for wet clutches. Can't you order oil online?
